Chapter 27 - The Aftermath

The others that were left behind to watch over Samson came a bit later when everything that went down was now over, Ezra and the rest of the team were not in a good condition especially Sarah she was emotionally traumatized and as for Ezra well like as always he wasn't okay physically.

Those who came after the little incident found the whole file keeping room in ruins, the file cabinets were broken and everything else, even one file cabinet was all the way through the ceiling. They were helping Samson walk.

"What the hell happened here? You did this you impure reject freak, this is all your fault" Samson pinned it all on Ezra.

Ezra didn't know what to say or even do, he just stood there and took all the blame. While Samson was busy talking trash about him and even spitting on him.

"Okay that's enough for one day" Jason came to the rescue of Ezra again.

"Get out of the way boy this doesn't include you" Samson facing Jason with dead eyes.

"Well it does if you are going to blame someone innocent in all of this" Jason acting brave in the face of Samson.

"Someone innocent and if he's innocent then who is to blame for all of this?" Samson asked.

"It's okay Jase thank you for standing up for me once against" Ezra feeling humiliated.

"No it's not okay Bringer, he should know that the one behind all of this is none other than his back stabbing ex girlfriend Delilah" Valkyria intervined.

"What did you just say?" Samson couldn't quite catch what was just said.

"Yeah you heard her right it was her" Damian confirmed.

"No you are lying this isn't like her she has changed, she died with me the day I took out those soldiers with my last strength" Samson not wanting to accept the truth.

"Really so you don't want to admit it, it's Delilah for heaven's sake" Damian insisted.

Looking at the four kids that were standing next to him united as one Samson didn't know what his next move was going to be, all eyes were now watching him. He let go to those who were helping him walk and he just stormed out, Layla gave Ezra this look of uncertainty and she left too.

Moses and the other angels came and also saw the horrifying sight of their file keeping room, and he walked towards the gang.

"Do I need to know what happened here?" Moses asked them.

"Moses sir I think you may wanna see this" one of the angels called him.

Behind them it was confirmed that the bodies that were lying dead on the floor were actually and indeed the bodies of those who died and vanished in the invasion, Gordon's bodies was somewhere there amongst the others.

Moses and those who didn't see anything saw the dead bodies of their fallen comrades and couldn't believe it, at least when they were changed into Infants the scars in their bodies from the invasion battle were now healed.

"Okay please take every single one of them and go place them in the House of Resting" Moses ordered and he just looked at Ezra and the rest of the team who were standing there.

The bodies of the deceased were being moved to the House of Resting the real mortuary of the Holy Place, those who lost their friends watched as their lifeless bodies were taken away. Moses and the team were walking out of the file keeping room.

"So where were you?" Damian interested.

"Nice try kid but I'm the one who should asked the questions here" Moses said.

"Before you even start asking the obvious question, no it wasn't us who did that to them it was Delilah but she was not alone someone else was with her" Ezra said.

Sensing the intensity between Moses and Ezra that sent discomfort to those around them.

"Are we going to need lawyers?" Damian breaking the ice.

"So you are back kid?" Moses ignores him and focused on Ezra.

"Yeah" Ezra replied.

"Gordon! No!!!!" Layla cried.

When they ran to her to see what the fuss was all about they found Layla not wanting to let go of Gordon's body she was holding on it for dear life, the angels tried to separate her from him even her remaining teammates. But she was just too strong.

Gordon's body was just lying there dead cold it didn't matter how much poor Layla tried to shake him and call out his name, hoping that maybe, maybe he might actually wake up. And this feel like a dream... But Gordon didn't respond nor move.

"Sorry child but he's gone and so are the others" finally one angel manages to take her away.

They finally take Gordon's body to the house and one angel returns and gives Layla something that belonged to Gordon.

"Here I believe that this belonged to him" the angel nurse gives Layla, Gordon's larso that was no longer gold like before but looked like a normal ordinary old rope that was dragged into mud and dirty waters.

Layla takes the larso and looks at it very closely, she pulls it closer to her heart then just let's it all out.

Her other teammates try to comfort her but then she sees Ezra and his teammates talking to Moses in indistinct chatter, she gets up and walks to them.

"This is your fault, you and I aren't going to be done for eternity I will make you pay for what you did to Gor" Layla just shoved Gordon's larso to Ezra.

"Layla you are not being fair" said Jason.

"And that goes for all of you if you dare stand with him you shall receive the same fate as him!" Layla warned all of them.

Then she pushed Ezra aside then went in and joined the crowd.

"What's her problem?" Valkyria asked.

"It's okay she just lost one of her friends" Ezra said.

"So you said somebody else was with Delilah, who was that person?" Moses raised the question.

"Huh?" Damian distracted.

"Who was with-?" Just before he could finish his question Moses was interrupted.

"Fallen, he said his name was the Fallen" Ezra replied.
