Chereads / Fate/Marvel: Chaldea Descent / Chapter 28 - Midnight Escapade

Chapter 28 - Midnight Escapade

( 3rd POV )

Inside the hidden depths of a certain mansion, far beneath the mansion's sprawling grounds, a room was bathed in a soft blue glow. The room was futuristic, lined with polished white walls embedded with intricate circuitry that glowed softly, the high-tech ambience offset by the pulsing hologram of Earth, which rotated in mesmerizing patterns. Showing a testament to the advanced technology at the disposal.

Behind a control panel of this room, a bald man wearing a weird helmet that connected to the control panel sat in his wheelchair, his eyes closed, his fingers lightly tapping the armrest as he processed the information he had just gathered.

Behind him, there is another two guy waiting, one is wearing a white lab coat even with the blue fur all over his body and the other is wearing a brown trench coat while playing with a card on his hand with a bored face.

After a prolonged silence, the bald man wearing helmet open his eyes and slowly reaching at the helmet on his head before putting it down. "Still nothing. I couldn't locate either Erik or Azazel," he murmured, fatigue etched into his face.

Feeling a bit tired after using his strange helmet. The fur guy behind him couldn't help showing his brow furrowing. "Even the Chaldea's people, Charles?" He asked.

The Baldy gaze momentarily drifting to the hologram of Earth still spinning in front of them. "Yes, Hank. Even I couldn't find any traces of them with the help of Cerebro." The bald man answered his fur friend with a tired expression.

The old baldy using a costume made X wheelchair is none other than the world's number 'one' telepath, the headmaster of the Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, and also the founder of the X-men.

Despite his Dumbledore's gentle character, he is recognized as a very dangerous Alpha-Level Mutant by the government and also one of threat considered by Chaldea after Ken's file label him as a mind rapist.

Before Hank could respond, Remy stepped forward. "How about Raven and her little message then," he said, his Cajun accent adding a melodic lilt to his words. "She says somethin' is goin' off. Told me to tell you to be careful, but be careful at what?"

The dome looking room once again fall into a silence as the three people in it ponder. "From what you've shared, it sounds like Raven is still piecing together what happened with the Brotherhood that night. She suspects there's more to the attack—perhaps even something hidden from us." He spoke slowly,

"Even for me, Erik action seems so wrong, the Erik I know will never launch such an extreme attack... not one so reckless that it sacrificed his own people. He will never use and sacrifice his brethren like that..." He said with a grim tone while remembering those poor Morlocks.

"Indeed, whether it is his mutant's revolution or his conversion plan it seems too reckless." Hank comment, before continuing his word. "I'm also puzzled about his machine, where is he getting it from? Did Erik build it himself?" He guesses.

"No way! Just because he can control metal doesn't mean that he can built such a complex machine." But Hank guess immediately denied by Remy.

"The Brotherhood is filled with a cruel, bloodthirsty and iron headed like people. Ain't no way they could even built such a machine. I doubt they could even build a fucking Lego with their nonexistence IQ."

Remy spittin' fire fueled with hatred towards the Brotherhood members. Remembering the torture and the beating when he got captured by them not long ago. He refused there is an actual intellect person inside of that group.

Hearing what the discount card 'magician' said, both Charles and Hank could only smile wryly. They know about his captured, but they don't know what Remy's been through there. They could only imagine...

Charles looked back at the dome-like structure of Cerebro, his mind running through a thousand calculations "Hmm, maybe it's not Erik or the Brotherhood themselves who built it..." The Professor said, "maybe Erik cooperates with someone?" He said his guess.

But Hank has a different opinion. "... Or he stole it from someone?" Knowing Magneto usual behavior, he thinks his guess is the closest one, even Remy beside him nodded in agreement.

Charles eyes twitch, he found himself couldn't refute Hank's guess. "Either way, at least we know that Erik is still alive somewhere and that there is someone or some forces standing with him."

"We must stay vigilance at this time as the world still buzzing about us the metahumans." He said with a slight smile. The name metahumans seems very fitting and giving him a good impression.

"I agree, let just stay lay low for a while." Hank nodded in agreement with Remy followed soon. "Yes, yes, let us stay away from the stage, especially from those Chaldea's people." He said hurriedly, still remembering the trauma left by the lion cub.

After all, he almost died by her sword that night. Since that night, the Pendragon princess figure, bathed in a crimson thunder is always haunting him on his sleep.

The three of them walked together, leaving the Cerebro room behind. The iconic X door sliding shut with a gentle hiss. As they made their way down the white hallway, the Baldy, leading the way, murmured to himself.

"Chaldea, huh..." He paused, his tone full of curiosity. "One day, I'd like to meet them myself..."

( Ken POV )

"We sneak out behind them while wearing some kind of smiling doggo mask, and then..."

"BAM!"

"We bonk the shit out of them using plastic hammer, reinforced with Ken's spell, sending them out to sleep."

"Those bastards didn't even stand a chance against us. Some of them even shouted 'Who let the dogs out!?', Wahahaha."

I watched with a blank expression as the girl wearing a red leather jacket and a short denim narrating some kind of ridiculous story toward the other three girls who are listening to her with different kind of faces.

The red jacket girl stood atop the wooden table in her red leather jacket and denim shorts, narrating her absurd version of while her hands cut through the air in exaggerated gestures, eyes wide with excitement, as if reliving the thrill of it all.

But the thing is, that bizarre story has indeed happened last night... It was our little adventure.

"What are we talking about again?" I asked with a bland tone and a blank expression.

The girl who stands on top of the table froze mid-speech, and all three girls turned their heads toward me, each with a different look.

"We're talking about why we didn't see you and the others yesterday, Senpai," My little eggplant said with curiosity etched on her face.

"Right! Right! Mordred-sama is almost finished with the story!" One of the new girls chimed in, her tone full of fanaticism toward Mordred. She even used Japanese etiquette for her.

While the girl with a mixed hair color, raised her hand. "Um... But, I'm asking about how to train my power at the beginning..." She said, her voice barely a whisper.

The three of them answer with different answer, before I snapped my finger and pointing it to the latter. "Exactly! So, let's quickly end this, and head out to the garden."

These three girls' identity in front of me was obviously Mash, Daisy and Anna. The two who just joined Chaldea and the one I got acquaintance with this morning. Lastly, the wild 'prince' Mordred is staring at me with a stinky eye full of malice.

As I moved to stand, the lion cub quickly jumped down from the table and blocked my way, her arms crossed defiantly. She looked at me with a fire in her eyes that could probably melt steel.

"Oh no, you don't! We're not getting off anywhere anytime soon, Master. Let me finish the story!" At her request or more like a threat, I can only raise my hand in a surrender, feigning innocence and letting her continue.

"Fine, fine..."

"Ahem, where was I again?" She stopped for a moment, "Ah, right, after we finished all of them, we released those poor girls in the warehouse that got captured..."

As Mordred's voice continued to echo through the lounge as she spun her tale with gusto. I couldn't help but glance away from her and pull up my system interface, scrolling through it.

'Yeah, that's some good shit right there.' I said in my heart as I see the system weekly missions.

Yesterday when Mordred and Ushiwaka is upset after they got reprimand by Olga, I took them for a walk. But it's not kind of normal walk...

It's a walk where they got to vent all of their frustration toward someone, just like what Mordred telling toward those girls. But of course, we are hiding our identity when doing the activity.

Using a double protection of magecraft and a doggo mask, we head toward the hotspot location which also known as Marvel novice town for transmigrator, The Hell's Kitchen.

I lead the tw– I mean three of them including Hassan of the Hundred Faces, to have some fun there. Which also helped me to farm some SQF and QP for future need.

We encounter many dark shit happening on as soon as the night descend, things like robbery, murder, drugs cartel, rape, and even place where human used as a fucking cattle is quite easy to find.

Eventually we managed to stop some of the nastiest shit from happening, and for those who lucky to saw our appearance, they could only thing that the one who saved them is some vigilantes that was patrolling around the area.

'Hehe, got to put the blame on the devil red guy.'

So, because of that, we spend a lot of time outside until past midnight. When Mash brought the two newcomers to find us, we are obviously not around yesterday. We could only meet today.

Mash introduces us, recounting the things at the director's room and telling some of their information to me. But it's not like I don't know the two of them.

'One is a discount of AFO and the other is a discount of Whitebeard...'

Anyway, after the introductions settled down, Mash asked us about our whereabout yesterday, while Anna asked me specifically to helped her train her uncontrollable power.

Those question is what led us to what happen right now... I turned off the system panel before setting my gaze toward Mordred who just finished her story.

"Woah, that was awesome! As expected from Chaldea!" Daisy clapped her hands together, feeling excited by Mordred heroism.

'This girl's fangirling is almost as intense as that of K-pop fans in my previous live...'

Mash, who had somehow managed to sneak beside me without my noticing, gave me a pout. "I didn't expect something like that to happen," she huffed. "As your Shield, I should've been there, Master."

A chuckle slipped out as I stood up from my seat before tapping her forehead with two of my fingers. "Sorry Mash, this is the last time." I said with a smile, Itachi style.

My kawaii kouhai blushed like a tomato before avoiding her eyes from me. "Um." She replied with a soft hummed.

'Cute...'

While I would like to continue teasing her, Anna's gaze toward me with a weird eye and I feels that she has waited for long enough. It's time to help the future Rogue.

"Ahem, now that the storytelling session is over," I said, clearing my throat to grab everyone's attention, "let's get this training arc started."

Finally, the five of us made our way through the mansion winding halls, heading toward the garden at the back—the closest thing we had to a real training ground, given that there is no simulation room here.

As we reached the end of the hall, Daisy voiced a nervous laugh. "Training? But I don't have any superpowers…"

"You don't need it, Daisy." I replied with a grin. "You just need train your body, it's your foundation after all."

We kept walking, with me casually glancing at Mordred. "But by the way, I don't know you had a knack for storytelling, Mo-chan. Did you learn that from Merl–"

"No! Hell fucking no! I'm not and don't ever call that dick wizard in front of me again, Ken!"

"Pfftt, ahahahaha... I know, I know, Ahaha..."

"Huh? Is it funny? Merlin is a guy, right? So, it's quite fitting no?"

"Hahaha, yeah. Very fitting of him..."

"Gghhrr..."

I laughed so hard from our conversation this time. Seeing Mordred annoyed expression, the newcomer's clueless expression, even Mash, struggling to keep her composure, fought back a snicker, which only fueled the amusement building up in me as we finally arrived at the garden.

'Oh sweet summer child, I'm eager to see what kind of expression you would show when you know the truth, ahaha...'
