Chapter 57 - Council

The king nervously paced around his throne room. In the middle where the carpet usually lay, a giant roundtable coupled with 30 seats had been placed. At the head of the table, a golden throne was nestled, alongside it, two smaller, silver chairs took their place. 

It was the first time the king was nervous to address the nobility. Not because he was afraid of them, but because he had grown used to the unpredictability of Milo. Even though Milo had promised that he was going to behave himself, all it took was one minor inconvenience and he was willing to go to war over it. 

Truly a troublesome child.

The double doors swung open and Earl Mikal walked in, leading a group of overly dressed and overly groomed noblemen as well as some of their sons. The king sat in his chair and signalled for each of them to take a seat, to which they promptly complied.
