Xiaoling sat up and covered her face as she sobbed. She couldn't stop herself. The entire day, she had been trying to cry but in vain. Now that she was put to bed by a man who hurt her, she didn't know if she wanted to cry. Not in front of him.
Just as such thoughts circled her mind, she found herself in a gentle embrace.
"It's all my fault," Hou Hai uttered in a painful voice as if he was truly regretful of his choices, "I should've been more considerate."
Xiaoling's teary eyes widened in surprise as he hugged and comforted her. Although she felt betrayed, he was the only person who knew what had happened to her. He was the only one who could comfort her.
Unwilling as she was, she melted into his embrace while crying her heart out.
She sobbed as she clenched onto his clothes, not knowing what to say to him. He continuously patted the back of her head to comfort her.
"I'm so sorry," He apologized again and again.
