Xiaoling followed Hou Hai away from the crowd. He pulled her before himself to face her and narrowed his eyes.
"You saw that?" He scoffed, "Why didn't you say anything to defend me?"
Xiaoling's eyebrows raised in confusion, "How can I dare talk before the Arbiter and Your Highness?" She asked, "Besides, I have no idea what you were talking about."
Hou Hai leaned toward her, "Really?"
His voice sounded like he didn't believe her. However, she truly had no idea what their conversation was about. So, she confidently nodded to prove her innocence.
"I thought you were so elated to see your past lover that it silenced you," He uttered teasingly, "Turns out I was wrong, yes?"
Xiaoling pouted, "Your Highness, I only think about you. Why would I think about someone else on our wedding day?"
"Don't take it seriously," Hou Hai instantly backed out, "I was just teasing you."
