Xiaoling and Ru had breakfast the next morning. Their meals were usually quiet and awkward nowadays. It seemed Ru had too much on his mind to talk. Xiaoling kept giving him meat and side dishes since he seemed to stick to his bowl of rice. Before each bite, Xiaoling would put a piece of meat and some side dish onto his spoon.
Surprisingly, Ru didn't mind her timely interventions and ate normally. They hadn't spoken a word since yesterday, but Xiaoling felt calmer because she talked the options out with Weisheng.
Ru sensed that she was less tense than yesterday, so after finishing dinner, he decided to talk to her.
"Master, did you think about what I said yesterday?" He asked as he put his spoon inside his finished rice bowl.
Xiaoling quietly raised her eyes to look at him, recalling what he had said yesterday. She remembered he had requested to never reincarnate and stay by her side. That was a request she couldn't complete. But she smiled softly.
