Chapter 1 - Part 1

"Eugh."

A woman's whimpering voice was heard from a dark and quite narrow deserted alley. The woman spontaneously held her head which was really hurting. The woman was surprised to look around as it was completely deserted and dark. It seemed she couldn't remember the reason why this woman was here.

"Alley? This is an alley? Where exactly am I? What did I get here for? A pile of cardboard boxes?" asked the woman completely confused. The woman was holding her own head. "Shit. Who the hell am I? Why am I here? I don't remember anything." She cursed.

"Stop! Damn it! Don't run away!"

The woman was startled when she heard a shout. She hurriedly hid among the piles of cardboard boxes and other items stacked there. Soon, a man entered the alley, followed by several others who chased after him.

"Who is that man? Do they want to steal that man's things? Well, from the looks of it, he's pretty rich," the woman said to herself as she watched the man.

The chased man, on the other hand, looked relaxed and smiled sarcastically. "Chasing me all this time, you guys really didn't give up on killing me? Who gave the order? Is it that stupid Robert again?"

"Don't speak disrespectfully to our master! Damn, Grey!"

"Grey? Is that the man's name?" The woman asked silently.

Meanwhile, the man called 'Grey' laughed sarcastically. "You guys are the damn ones."

"Don't talk so much!"

Suddenly the group of people pointed a gun and fired it at Grey. Grey quickly dodged, while the woman hurriedly stifled her screams and hid.

The woman saw the dodging Grey as he approached them. Then he started beating them one by one. The woman was amazed to see that Grey's skills were really good at martial arts and dodging.

"He's definitely not an ordinary person. Who is he? Can he find out who I am?" muttered the woman.

However, the woman was surprised to see one of the people pull out a knife and aim it at Grey who was still busy fighting.

"Hey, watch out!" The woman shouted.

Grey was surprised to hear the voice because he thought it was just him and the group of people here. Before he could respond, Grey was suddenly hugged by someone and there was a screech afterwards. Grey turned his head and saw the woman who now looked in pain.

Grey then saw the man behind her whose hand was bleeding. Grey widened his eyes in surprise, immediately kicked the man behind him and saw that the woman's shoulder was already stuck with a knife.

"Shit. Stupid. Who are you to protect me?" Grey asked.

The woman looked at him with fading eyes. "I helped you, and you call me stupid, and don't say thank you. Is that appropriate?"

"Look out!"

Grey pushed the woman aside when someone came back. Meanwhile, the woman was in pain and holding her shoulders. "Damn, he couldn't be gentler? I'm hurt." She protested.

"Grey!"

The woman turned her head towards the mouth of the alley when someone called Grey's name. There seemed to be another man who came with several people. Soon the man and his group immediately attacked the group that attacked Grey with several shots making the woman scream in fear and hurriedly close her eyes.

Shortly, the gunshots stopped and the woman ventured to slowly open her eyes. Then, the woman saw the man who had come straight to the man named Grey. He looked worried.

"Grey, you're okay, right?"

"Yes. But, that woman—"

"Shit. Who is she? Wait a moment. Is she one of that group of people? I killed her," said the man. Then without saying anything he pointed the gun at the woman's head. The woman naturally panicked.

"H-hey, why do you want to kill me? I wasn't involved. I even saved him. You should help me treat the wound. I'm already dizzy and in pain. It feels like I'm going to die soon," said the woman with a weakened voice.

The man frowned, then turned to Grey. "This woman saved you?"

Grey nodded. "Yes. You guys took too long to get here. I had deliberately lured those fools here. However, this stupid woman suddenly came, protecting me when someone wanted to stab me in the back. In fact, I already knew he was behind and was going to hit him. Hey, do you think this woman is just pretending? Maybe this woman is one of that person's group."

"I'm not their group. I don't even know who you and them are. I don't even know who I am. How am I-sshh." She winced as the pain in her knife grew more painful as she exerted herself.

Grey clucked. "Don't get angry. You'll die sooner. So, what did you say? Don't you know who you are? What's your name?"

The woman shook her head weakly. "I-I don't know. I was already here when I woke up. I don't remember who I am, why I'm here. I saw you when you were being chased by those people."

"How can you not know? You—"

"Grey, enough. This woman is injured. Treat her first, then you can ask questions later. You ask those people to take care of their corpses. Clean it well." The man interrupted and Grey just chuckled.

Grey then left. Meanwhile, the man immediately approached the woman. "My name is Noah. I'm Grey's doctor and friend. I'll help treat you. Take it easy."

The woman didn't answer anything because her head was really dizzy and the wound hurt. Her vision was already foggy.

"Noah." The woman called silently before she lost consciousness.

"What? Memory loss medicine?"

Noah nodded. Noah and Grey looked at the woman who was now lying with a pale face on the bed.

"Yes. Memory loss medicine. That seems to be the reason she can't remember anything about herself. However, there may be some important moments that she can remember, but they are vague because the dose given was not strong enough. Other than that, it's fortunate that she's fine. The wound wasn't too deep. Otherwise—"

"I don't care. Can you not give her the antidote? That way, she'll remember where she came from. Then, just take this woman away. She really troublesome."

"Troublesome? You're really ungrateful, Grey. This woman saved your life. You should have been kind to her. You—"

"I don't like being indebted to anyone. Who asked her to help me? It's her fault. Her life was saved anyway, right? Being a mafia like me, it's normal to be in danger."

"You..." Noah did not continue. Noah was speechless with his best friend's attitude. It was indeed a bad attitude.

"Grey, I don't think we should give her the antidote. We'll just pretend we don't know why she has amnesia."
