Chapter 15 - Chapter 15

The throes of passion and the escaped sighs of pleasure filled Kent's head as he recalled the woman of his dreams.

The smile he caught a glimpse of and her dainty fingers drew a close resemblance to the beauty standing right in front of him.

"Lilith…" He said breathily.

"Kent…" Lilith's eyes glittered under the moon's glow.

She looked up at him with her ever-so-pretty eyes, her lips shimmering and looking even plumper with the lip tint.

He drew her closer to his body gulping slowly, his hand grasping her waist.

"Oi!" A voice sounded breaking through Kent's thoughts and separating them both.

"You think here's your bedroom or your private chambers. Go to an inn or something if you want to commit atrocities." The voice said grunting loudly.

An awkward silence followed, and Kent and Lilith resumed walking back to the manor avoiding each other's eyes.

"That was quite a strange experience," Kent said quietly.

Their eyes meet and they burst into a mirthful bout of laughter.

Lilith could feel her ears begin to tear up from her laughs. She hadn't laughed this much ever.

"Do you care for some pie Lilith?" Kent said suddenly.

"Pie?"

"Yes, the kitchen usually prepares some dessert on weeknights."

They had now walked to the gate of the manor.

"I would very much like some pie." She said, flashing a bright smile at him.

"Key lime I presume." He said, smiling back.

"Yes, that's perfect."

They both walked back into the manor heading straight to the kitchen and setting plates for the pie.

"I've never had key lime pie before," Lilith said whilst chewing the pie slowly before swallowing.

"I have. I find the experience truly delightful. It's been my favorite since forever."

They conversed more on other topics, talking heartily.

"I'm sleepy," Lilith said, yawning.

"Oh, I guess I won't keep you any longer then."

"Have a good night Kent." She said walking up the stairs.

"You too, Lilith."

***********

"Sir we're almost at the bay." A stewardess said quietly, gently tapping his clothed shoulder.

He woke up groggily, picking his hat up from the table in front of him.

"Thank you." He said waving her away and adjusting his cashmere coat.

"That's a nice coat there my good lad. You must introduce me to your tailor. The stitches are so intricate."

"Thank you, my good man. Unfortunately, he resides in Paris. While I traveled there. I thought I'd stop to get a new look."

"I must say he did a really good job."

"Thank you." He said with a tight smile turning back to look out the window.

"Humans." He muttered under his breath, rolling his eyes.

"Curious yet stupid species might I add." He said yet again under his breath.

"Did you say something, my good man?" The man said.

"Not at all." He said with a smile. "Finn Hemmings by the way, pleased to make your acquaintance." He said stretching his hand out for a handshake.

"Gregory Bridgers," He said, accepting his hand. "Also pleased to make your acquaintance."

"Bridger? The biggest traders in all of New Ford?"

The man laughed, his shoulders shaking slightly. " You got that right."

"I've heard so much about you, Never knew we'd meet here of all places," Finn said, ringing the bell at the side.

"Hemmings? I don't think I've heard of that name before."

"I'm a traveler, what can I say? Always moving from here to there."

A maid then entered with a tray of tea leaning slightly to drop the tea on the side table, her eyes meeting slightly with Finn's.

He arches his brow at her, smiling slightly. His hands were going to pick up the tea she had just poured, brushing against the back of hers.

The maid turned red, avoiding his eyes with a smile.

"What's your name sweetheart?" He asked her.

"M-me?" The maid said, startled.

"Is there anyone else I'll call sweetheart?" He said looking around, chuckling.

"Madeline s-sir."

"You're gorgeous, Madeline, and you have such pretty hands." He said, looking at her hands in awe.

"Oh my." She said turning red.

"Can I see them, darling?" He said taking her hands in his." You have such docile and fragile fingers." He said kissing her hands.

"Are you also stopping at New Ford?" He asked her.

"Yes sir. I have some things to attend to there."

"Well, then I'll be there too." He said.

She picks up the tray leaving the cabin flustered.

"You're a charmer." He said impressed. "I'll invite you to play with some of the others."

"Thank you very much for your kind invitation."

They went back to their business. One reading the papers and the other looking ahead. Soon a commotion was heard outside the door.

Shrieks of fear were heard from various people.

"Whatever is the issue?" Mr. Bridgers said.

"Let's go check it out. I hope there isn't a problem with the boat."

They walked out of the cabin and saw a gathering on the deck.

"What happened?" Finn asked a crew member.

"It's a maid. We don't know what happened to her, she just began to foam in her mouth and convulse." He said.

They both walked to the deck to see the tea serving maid, Madeline lying down on the floor, her mouth foaming and jerking, the serving tray and ceramic broken teacups strewn all around her.

Gregory knelt next to her convulsing body checking her pulse and suddenly she stopped jerking, her eyes turning white.

Finn smirked to himself. " The effects are much faster than I anticipated." He thought to himself.

"She's dead," Gregory said.

Murmurs came from all corners of the deck.

"Wrap her body up. He said to two crew mates. "immediately we get to the dock. Inform her guardians or parents." He said walking back to the cabin.

Finn entered the cabin shortly after sighing.

"It's a pity it is. She was such a pretty little thing." Finn said.

"That she was."

"I've been deprived of such a good time." He said, sighing.

"When we go down, I'll show you much better. You'll have a satisfying time engaging in debauchery you never imagined." Gregory said smiling.

They laugh.
