Chereads / Chimera Man / Chapter 11 - Bad Guy

Chapter 11 - Bad Guy

"You're going to need to be more careful than that." Urahara sits on top of a rusty workbench, dressed in shorts and a plain white T-shirt. "I said more careful!" He shouts at the older Arima, now age 14, as he punches a punching bag.

He wore a pair of blue boxing gloves topless, his shorts moving in the still wind as he punched the punching bag, hit after hit. With each hit, the punching bag inched away from him, yet swung back and readied for another punch.

As Arima winds for another punch, his hands slip on the rubber surface, causing his elbow to completely dislocate and snap. "Agh!" He cries out as he falls to the ground, grabbing his elbow with his other hand. "Tsk!" His healing allows the elbow to completely regrow, twisting back inwards.

"You're doing it all wrong." Urahara stands up and walks towards Arima. He stands behind him and raises his two fists. "What you're doing now is this." Urahara mimics Arima's punch, a slow and overly exaggerated version where he merely extends his arm to tickle the punching bag.

"There's so force." Arima looks upwards.

"And there's no momentum nor twist." Urahara smiles. "This is what a real punch looks like!" He draws his fist back, activating his back as he lunges forward with his fist, raining a hail of force onto the punching bag that causes the metal chains hanging from the ceiling to break and release the punching bag.

The bag rolls on the ground of the empty boxing gym as it hits the edge of a ring, stopping its roll. "Looks like I've still got it."

"Good job old man," Arima says sarcastically.

"Hey, I'm not that old. Yet." Urahara shrugs his shoulder as he walks towards the punching bag. "Come on, show me how you'll punch a real bad guy." Urahara picks up the punching bag, holding it in front of him as he advances toward Arima.

"Are you the bad guy?" Arima says in his prepubescent high-pitched voice. "If I beat this bad guy do I finally get my license?"

"In this case, yes." Both of them circle one another as neither makes the first move.

"You have to surp-" Before Urahara could say the word surprise, the young Arima pounces on his prey like a lion. He swerves to the right and delivers a devastating jab to Urahara's side, completely ignoring the giant punching bag. "Agh!" Urahara spits his saliva out as he falls to the ground.

"You said you were the bad guy, not the punching bag. I had to neutralize the bad guy." Arima said, with a smug face.

"That's it, kid." Urahara stands up. "There comes a time where every child thinks they could beat their dad up in a fight." He wipes the spit off his face. "I'll make sure you never have those outlandish ideas!" Urahara raises both of his fists.

"I'll take you on!" Arima removes the gloves off his hands with his teeth, the rubber fists falling onto the ground.

Both of them stare each other in the eye in the empty boxing gym, the metallic warehouse was empty except for a couple of punching bags and boxing rings, along with other exercising machines and boxing equipment.

"Hah!" Arima throws himself towards Urahara, hurling himself in his general direction.

Urahara avoids this tackle and jumps out of the way, using his feet to pivot and propel himself to the left. "Too slow!" Urahara delivers a hand cross to Arima's neck mid-tackle, causing him to lose his balance and tumble onto the mat floor.

"That's," Urahara looks at the knocked down Arima on the floor. "How you attack with precision and power!"

Arima stumbles on the ground, his vision blurry as he slowly regains oxygen flow to his brain. "My eyes." He rubs them.

"Stand up!" Urahara nudges Arima with his foot, pushing him onto his side. "What are you? Some 14 year old kid?" He kicks Arima, pushing him back even more with more force.

"I'm the best damn Poacher there ever is!" Arima pounces forward, using his hind legs like a cheetah to propel him forward.

Urahara is caught by surprise, trying to elbow the flying Arima. The feral Arima clings onto Urahara and tackles him downwards, hugging his waist with his legs as he starts punching Urahara in the face. In succession, his fist rained a storm of blows on his pretty face, breaking his pink glasses and roughing him up.

"Hey!" Urahara catches one of Arima's fists mid-air and headbutts him, striking his thick skull against Arima's.

Both of them groan as Arima loses his grip on Urahara's chest, forcing him off. "Shit, you might be the worst boxer I've ever met." Urahara wipes the blood from his mouth.

Both of them hurl at each other, Urahara moving gracefully and elegantly as Arima tries everything, hoping for something to stick and land. As Urahara raises his leg for a kick, Arima grabs onto it and slides underneath.

"Woah!" Arima pulls on his leg, causing Urahara to lose his balance and do a full spin. As his foot leaves the ground, Arima jumps from the wall and grabs Urahara mid-jump, using his freakishly strong strength to carry the grown man. "Hey!" Both of them fall onto the ground together with Urahara taking the brunt of the main force.

"I'll win no matter what!" Arima elbows Urahara in the chest. Both of them struggle it out as they're throwing punches and kicks that barely land on one another, both of them flailing on the ground.

"Hey, kid!" Urahara shouts into his face. "Over here!" Urahara punches Arima with his left hand while simultaneously kicking his head with his right leg.

"Agh!" Arima blocks from oncoming attacks with his hands and delivers a devastating kick straight to Urahara's face, knocking him backward as he stumbles.

A drop of blood falls onto the mat as Urahara's nose starts bleeding. "Shit." He catches the droplets of blood that slowly drip down. "That was a pretty good kic-" As Urahara looks up, he sees a lunging Arima, straight towards him.

"This kid-!" He screams internally as Arima sends his entire body weight into his ribcage. "He's not sparring, he's trying to murder me!" Urahara cries out as he knees Arima in the chest, but Arima continues moving forward. He uses his legs to push the mat off the ground, carrying the grown man with him as he crashes straight into the wall.

"Bleugh!" Urahara coughs out blood as he realizes that Arima could very easily kill him at this very moment if he's not being careful. "Shit, I didn't think I'd need to use this!" Urahara disappears in a flash of purple light, reappearing behind Arima as a gash of blood escapes into the air.

"Hhu..." Urahara gasps for air as he looks down at his chest, a massive gash appearing that runs down the middle. "Shit." His eyes were a bright neon purple that illuminated light.

Arima stood solid in the same position he was, his two hands against the wall. His eyes had turned a blank white as a single cut appeared on his lip, up towards his nose. As his eyes start to roll backward, his feet start to shake, and his entire body collapses onto the ground.

Urahara turns around and looks at the unconscious Arima. "You beat this bad guy." Soon enough, he collapses forward and joins him. Both of them lay on the ground, Urahara covered in blood as a single drop of blood leaked from Arima's lip.

"Arima!" A hand taps Arima's shoulder. "Arima!" The hand starts shaking. "Wake up!" The hand pushes Arima off the table, causing him to hit his head against the side of the chair.

"Hey!" He abruptly wakes up from his nap. "What the hell is your problem!" He looks up at the sweating Sasorie.

The atmosphere changes in the room almost immediately as Arima reads Sasorie's face. A singular bead of sweat falls from Sasorie's face. "Joorie's gone. They took Joorie."
