"Stop!" A man shouts at a flopping piece of meat on the ground, holding a kitchen knife. The slob of meat squishes around on the floor, leaving a trail of blood on the kitchen floor. "Agh!" He hurls the knife down at the creature, stabbing it right between its eyes.
Blood splatters over the man's face and shirt, covering him in red. The blood squirts onto the kitchen cabinets and counters, turning them red as well.
"Ever been in a situation like this?" A man with a mask walks into the camera. "Find yourself face to face with a life-threatening monster?" He raises his finger. "Worry not! For CAGE has your back!"
The video in the background cuts and turns into a slideshow. "The Chimera Activity Guidance and Extermination Association (TM) Is the Government's newest and best branch! With the increase in Chimera sightings," He points at a graph with an exaggerated depiction of chimera sightings skyrocketing. "Public safety is the government's number 1 priority!"
The slide behind him cuts to CAGE's logo. "We, at CAGE Incorporated, are here for your well-being! We are an elite task force of highly trained individuals prepared to take on Chimera's head-on in Japan!"
A man watched the television inside of a rundown-dilapidated apartment. The light shined through the cracks as the windows were boarded up, parts of the ceiling had mold growing on them and caused water to drip down.
He sits on a rotting sofa, his hand on the armrests. His hands were bony and veiny, barely any flesh and muscle. His fingers tapped and rubbed across the soft surface, swiping the grain of the sofa.
"Trust CAGE." The television says before the man lunges towards the screen, punching it with his bony hands. Even though he didn't have any muscle on him he easily pierced through the metallic frame. The glass screen shattered on impact.
His head was covered in darkness by the hoodie he wore, but he breathed heavily and irregularly. A glass shard had cut his hand, leaving a small laceration. He holds his hand up vertically, allowing the blood to drip down slowly.
Tokyo wakes up as the city continues moving, cars whizzing past the streets as businessmen crawl on the city streets. Businesses open up and entire skyscrapers come to life.
Even with the looming presence of Chimeras, society moves. Humanity always moves.
The same hooded man walks on the street of Tokyo. His hands are tucked into his jeans as his hood covers his face.
"And then I grabbed his face!" A large man announces his presence to everyone. He's wearing a business suit with golden rings bedazzled on his fingers. He had a large frame with two women at both of his sides, his giant massive bald head reflecting the light off the skyscrapers. "Bang! Straight into the table!" He imitated plunging someone's head into a table, the two women giggling as they grabbed onto his arm.
The people around him had started to move out of the way, away from the big man's loud noises. The hooded man continues walking straight, directly towards the big man.
The two of them continue in their trajectory, eventually bumping against one another. "Hey!" The man shouts. "Can't you see where you're going?"
The hooded man stops and sighs. "You can't see?" He peeks out of his hood, a pitch-black eye greeting the man.
"Agh!" His eyes explode, pieces of eye debris splattering as blood paints the sidewalk. The girls holding onto his arms scream as they let go.
The man's body is disfigured as his ribcage explodes out of his body, creating massive spikes that protrude outwards, piercing his flesh. His mouth is unhinged and reveals an abnormally long tongue.
The hooded man quickly blends into the crowd of people running away from the man.
The man continues mutating, his body exploding in various areas with blood and tissue. A new being reformed as his muscles flip inside out, his skin now inside.
"It's a human chimera!" The people scream as they try and run away.
"Stand back!" An entire division of poachers arrives on the scene, pushing people back as they corner off the chimera. The man continued mutating as a circle had formed around him, like a ring.
Men in suits carrying weapons like guns and swords started to shout at the civilians to go away, warning them that it was too dangerous to remain on site. "Move!" The man shouts. "The Organisation can't guarantee your safety if you stay!"
Finally, the man's eyes opened as his entire head had been reformed from his blood and tissue. He had turned into a giant piece of flesh and blood that enveloped the city street, slightly resembling a humanoid figure. His feet had turned massive and almost like tree stumps, his arms like that of a truck.
The hooded man watches his creature in the crowd, being pushed back and forth by the people around him.
"Freeze!" One of the men in suits pulled out a gun, shooting the man squarely in the chest. The bullet merely tears through a couple of layers of the flesh before being absorbed into the man.
"Ah!" Another man draws his blade, running straight towards the chimera. As his blade slices through the air and makes contact with the creature's flesh, the sword instantly shatters.
"Human." The creature, unfazed by the attack, grabs the human. His fingers were made of pure muscle and bone, nearly crushing his internal organs with a single palm. As he brings the human closer to him, his head unhinged and reveals a floral pattern that blooms like a flower made of flesh, a tongue sticking out to swallow the human whole.
"Butterfly Steps." A soothing voice whispers.
Instantly, a flash sparks through the sky as the Chimera's arm is effortlessly turned into butter, a sword slicing through it cleanly.
"Butterfly Steps." Another flash appears, this time straight towards the creature's neck. The blade, although sharp, could barely make a dent in the creature's thick neck.
"Shit." Lentor slides onto the ground, the crowd cheering him on.
"Sir Lentor!" The entire crowd cheers as more of the Organisation's men hold the crowd at bay.
Lentor sighs, his blade in his right hand as he holds a handkerchief in the other, swiping off the sweat off his face.
The creature groans as its flesh regrows, creating an entirely new hand from thin air. The cut on his neck, although deep, did not do any significant and lasting damage, merely regenerating at a moment's notice.
"He's a bulky one." Lentor comments.
"Looks like you need some assistance." Another voice appears behind Lentor. Standing behind the well-groomed gentleman was the direct opposite, a punk bedazzled with jewelry and a leather jacket. His dark skin glistens in the sun as the choker around his neck reflects the sun's light. "You can't fight without some music!" The dashing young man had an electric guitar in hand, strumming it once which created a shock wave that made the chimera screech.
"Boy David!" The entire crowd, predominantly women, shouted his name.
"Boy David." Lentor smiles.
"You betcha." David smiles. "Besides being a multinational top one billboard artist, I'm Tokyo's number one selling artist!" He strums his guitar once more, swooning the entire audience. "My guitar also functions as a Chime, having been infused with the rattlesnake, my music creates a Chime that Chimeras just can't resist but listen to!" He continues playing, creating a beat for the audience to listen to. "Just play along with my beat and you'll get the rhythm eventually!"
The creature starts going crazy, flailing its arms around as his ears nearly burst. "Some Chimeras are ultra-sensitive to sounds, they need their superior hearing out in nature, but in the city? You've got music blaring!" He breaks out into an entire musical piece.
"Tch." Lentor smiles. "The newest generation gets flashier and flashier every day!" He disappears, his blade in hand.
"Butterfly Cut!" Lentor appears at the chimera's side, trying to cut it cleanly. However, the chimera, in its wild panic, flung his arms around in the air. His arm caught Lentor by the side and pushed him away, straight into a building.
"Oops!" David laughs. "You've got to lean into it, bro! Listen to the beat!"
Lentor coughs, picking himself up from the rubble. "Shut up! I can't hear myself over that music!"
"That's the point, you're not meant to hear yourself." The chimera lunges towards David, but David swiftly avoids his attacks by stepping to the beat. "The beat has the answers, the beat has the key!"
Lentor sees David dodging the chimera's attack synchronously and with ease, merely tapping to the beat.
"Butterfly Steps!" Lentor turns into a flash. For a brief moment, Butterfly Steps allows him to be faster than the eye can register, but he is still physically moving. Even during Butterfly Steps, his perception around him remains the same, allowing him to precisely move to where he wants to be and deliver a blow.
Yet, due to the chimera's unpredictability, he finds himself in a predicament. He doesn't know where to go! Lentor reappears out of Butterfly Steps and tries cutting off the creature's arm once more but the blade merely goes through halfway his flesh before getting caught. "Shit!" The creature flings his arm upwards, throwing Lentor upwards into the air with his blade. "Butterfly Steps!"
Lentor steps in the air, reangling himself to dash straight back into the heat of the battle. "Dance to the beat eh?" Lentor smiles. "I much prefer old school!" Lentor strikes the ground with his foot right as the beat drops, jumping back and landing his other foot on the ground as the next beat drops.
Like a planned choreography, David and Lentor had synchronized, giving Lentor a beat to attack. As he remains using Butterfly Steps, he circles the chimera, with his foot falling onto the ground with each step. "Butterfly Cut!"
Lentor stomps onto the ground on the first beat.
Lentor grabs his blade on the second beat.
"Ha!" Lentor slices through the Chimera cleanly on the third beat, splattering the nearby wall with red as his blade cuts it like butter.
