Chapter 6 - 5

[5: Welcome Home]

- Alisha's POV -

I was catching my breath when I arrived at the shooting area. I just dropped off Alas at kindergarten and rushed here because I was already late.

This isn't just any television series we're shooting. It's a big-time production that will be featured on national television.

Even though I'm not the lead role, just a supporting one, I still need to do my best because there might be more opportunities if someone notices my potential.

"Alisha! I'm glad you're here! The main and second leads have arrived. They're in the dressing room!" Direct Lee said, and I nodded in response.

I noticed he was accompanied by a small, cute teenage girl behind him.

"This is Lily, she's assigned as your assistant. She'll handle your schedule and scripts to keep everything organized," Director Lee said, and the cute girl approached me, extending her hand.

"Nice to meet you!" I greeted her with a smile, and she smiled back.

"Wow, you're so beautiful!" she exclaimed, then quickly covered her mouth as if surprised by what she said, and I chuckled.

"It's okay. Be comfortable with me. But for now, let's go into the dressing room to meet the rest of the cast," I said, and she nodded before opening the dressing room door.

When we entered, I saw Chloe and Ricky, who, like me, had supporting roles. Paulo, who had the second lead role, and... Anya, the main female lead.

Anya, my great stepsister. She's also pursuing acting as her career and has become quite famous now with the help of 'Arcena'. She's with Brian in the shooting, and he was looking at her affectionately then smiled at me. Anya, on the other hand, gave me a hostile look.

She's also working here? Didn't I just see her at the press conference for another series?

I should greet them, right? I was about to speak when someone suddenly entered the door.

"Sorry guys, I'm late!" I turned to the person who spoke, and my eyes widened when I saw who it was.

"Dustin? / Ali?" we both said simultaneously.

"What are you doing here?" I asked him.

"I'm the main male lead here," he replied.

Well, isn't this just my luck? Not only do I have to work with Anya, but I also have to deal with this burden.

"Do you know each other?" Paulo asked us, and I composed myself.

"I don't know him / Ali is my friend," we both said, and we exchanged glares

After introducing ourselves, the cast members left one by one to give me time to prepare. I still felt Anya's sharp glares as she passed by me.

I ignored her and headed straight to a makeup mirror, with Lily following me.

"Ate Alisha, are you close with Dustin?? Whaaa can I ask for his autograph?" Lily asked me, and I looked at her.

"You can ask Dustin about that; we're not close," I lied, and she pouted.

"Okay, fine. You stay here, Alisha; I left the makeup kit outside!" Lily shouted and quickly left the room.

I quickly messaged Alas while waiting for Lily. The door opened, and Anya's assistant came in, but there was no sign of Lily. She brought a makeup kit and hurriedly approached me.

"Miss Alisha, Lily asked me to take care of you. She said she have a family emergency," she said as she opened the makeup palette and dipped her brush in.

I smiled at her gestures. She's not that good at acting. As for Anya, nothing has changed. She's still using her old tricks.

As soon as she opened the makeup palette, I smelled something strange. It was a chemical odor that could burn the skin.

Before her brush could touch my face, I grabbed my phone from the desk and discreetly knocked over a glass of water onto the makeup palette.

"Oh my god! I'm so sorry! I spilled water on your makeup palette!" I shouted, wearing a worried expression.

Anya's assistant panicked even more and dropped the brush she was holding.

"Uh, I-I'll go out for a moment. I think Miss Anya is looking for me!" she said nervously as she packed up the makeup kit.

Just as she left, Lily entered with the makeup kit she mentioned. I didn't tell her what happened and let her do her job.

After a few hours, my scene was finally done. I'm just glad I didn't have to encounter Anya too much since the main leads took longer before going home.

My feet were sore as I walked home. Aside from the makeup incident, I didn't encounter any other foolishness from Anya.

Alas wasn't in the living room; his laptop was closed on the table.

Well, what a miracle. The kid must be sleeping.

But I could hear the sound of sizzling oil coming from the kitchen.

"Mommy!"

I smiled as I walked over to Alas, who hugged me tightly.

I froze when I realized there was a man standing in the kitchen wearing an apron and cooking.

Why is he here, and why is he cooking in my house?!

"P-President Han?" I stammered, and he smiled as he turned to look at me before turning off the stove.

He took off his apron and suddenly hugged me.

"Welcome home, wife!"

W-wife?!

Who in the hell is his 'wife'?!
