Chapter 18 - Monsters (3)

Gazing at the battlefield, Jin focused on the six Cyphers aligned with Genesis. They wore pristine white masks, devoid of any openings for eyes or nose, and their attire consisted of fully white cloaks decorated with a large black G sewn into the fabric.

"What do you think about them?" Thirteen inquired, trusting Jin's expertise in assessing their capabilities.

"The strongest among them is B-rated... Genesis isn't holding back," Jin remarked, a chuckle escaping him as he surveyed the chaos unfolding. Bullets sprayed in every direction, claiming lives on both sides, but more from the Terrorist's side.

"They may have the numbers, but they're being slaughtered," Jin assessed, his focus fixated on one figure in particular—the red-haired woman.

Clad in a black sweater and a brown bandana masking the lower part of her face, she wielded a simple assault rifle, its firepower no match for Cyphers.

Against them, her chances were slim; she could barely take down an armored soldier, let alone a Cypher—especially not a defense oriented one.

'The B-ranked... that's a special type. Three of them are simple speed types without an ability, while the other two are strength types... the last one is just a weakling,' Jin analyzed silently, his emerald green eyes discerning details others might miss.

Jin possessed a unique ability; his emerald green eyes granted him a different perspective, enabling him to perceive things in ways others couldn't.

'That woman... she is special,' Jin couldn't help but think as he observed her fearless approach in battle, fearlessly charging at her enemies, but it wasn't only her mentality, she was extremely skilled as well.

"Thirteen… I'm starting." Announced Jin, his rifle aimed at the closest soldier to the red haired woman that tried to harm her.

With a precise shot, the man fell instantly to the ground, his brains blown out by Jin's expert marksmanship.

Taking another deep breath and holding it in, Jin aimed once more, his focus sharp as he targeted the threats below.

The others on the rooftops were the first to sense his presence, but Jin couldn't care less. His rifle was already aimed at the Genesis soldiers positioned on the rooftops, and with three distinct shots, they all fell backward, their heads nothing more than bloody chunks.

'Six more bullets.' Counted Jin before unleashing another bullet on an unsuspecting Genesis soldier down on the ground who tried to get to the flanks of the red haired woman and kill her.

Now, even she was aware of another presence as the shots were too destructive for weapons coming from them.

Unbeknownst to him, that was only because of a trick that Jin used to clad his bullets in a small amount of electric currency, he could not do this as he was exhausted and did not use Med X.

But now, that was not one of his concerns, making him able to coat these bullets, making them more lethal than armor piecing rounds.

"What the?!" One of the Terrorists on the rooftops switched their gazes and aimed at Jin, the one that suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

"What the hell is this?" Panicked one of the terrorists as they saw Jin, someone that was dressed like a straight up monster with his stag and goat mixture of a mask.

"Don't worry, I'm here to help." Said Jin with a chuckle before shooting once again, claiming another life.

Now, the Genesis soldiers were aware of Jin's presence, making some of the soldiers that were now regrouping after the grenade from the red haired woman sit their aimes at Jin.

Meanwhile, on the ground, the red haired woman threw away the assault riffle that she used before with little success and picked up a similar weapon from the now deceased Genesis soldier.

Using that assault riffle like a weapon, she was able to cause real damage to the skin armor on the soldiers, she began to unleash hell on the other side, taking down almost eight soldiers in a single magazine.

She was mowing down the genesis side perfectly, the bullets in the weapon pierced the skin armor, but it could not pierce anything, the skin of the B ranked Cipher that was now directly standing before her.

In his hand was now a long, slender blade, a katana that was pulled out of its sheath and ready to sever the head of the terrorist group leader.

Before that could have happened, a bullet made contact with the Cypher, drawing a bit of blood from his hand as the bullet pierced through and left on the other side.

Slowly, the masked Cypher looked up, directly at Jin who pulled the trigger on him, only to see a man in a stag mask wave at him in a friendly manner while lowering his hunting rifle, the same weapon that he fired with.

"Say hello." Repeated Jin as he pulled up his gun once more and shot at the B ranked Cypher, only to have him split the bullet in half with the katana in his hand.

Strangely, the blade he used was so strong with its material, that the armor piercing electricity envelop bullet did not destroy it or leave a dent at all.

'Okay… new objective, I'm going to own that.' Thought Jin with a newfound motivation to steal the weapon from Genesis and claim it as his own.

The Cypher standing on the ground only looked at Jin back with what he thought was anger as he could not observe his expression.

With a wave of his hand and now ords leaving his mouth, the two speed types began to rush at him from the ground, reaching the building that he used as a sniper position and leaped with a terryfing leap at his postion.

Now, they were facing him directly as they were face to face.

Bot of the Cyphers were dressed the same way as the one below, but Jin could still easily see what they were, C ranked speed types.

Jin could do nothing but smile, something that no one picked up from underneath his stag mask that made him into a terrifying monster.

He threw the hunting riffle to the side as he slowly rose up from the ground.

The two cypher was looking at him from two different sides, one of them were before him while the other was behind him.

"Who do you work for?" Asked one of the masked speed types, his voice was ragged and strained, as if he could barely speak without pain.

"I work for myself and myself alone." Said Jin, with a light chuckle as he pulled out the earpiece from his ears before saying goodbye to Thirteen.

"I'm back in a moment, I talk to you after a get rid of them." Said Jin, his words an open threat to the two Cyphers, something that they did not enjoy.

They switched gazes between each other through their white masks while looking at each other with switching their bodies a bit to the right as they had Jin between them.

And with that final glance, they began to rush at Jin with a terrifying pace with a knife in their hands.
