Chapter 22 - Liberation Front (2)

The same room they were in was now closed to everyone but the three of them, plus Thirteen on the screens, his face present in multiple monitors at once.

Jin leaned against one of the walls after finding a clean spot to do so. His arms were crossed as he hugged his sheathed katana.

"I'm glad that we finally found some people with the same goals as us. The corporations have ruled over us for long enough!" said Natalie, her face beyond livid as she talked about the corporations, her voice was full of hatred-

"Our goal is to liberate the districts one by one from the rule of the five corporations," Natalie continued. Hearing that, Jin could no longer hold in his laughter.

*pfft*

"Did I say something funny?" asked Natalie, her previous kindness vanishing in a single moment as she looked at Jin with a livid expression.

"You guys were almost slaughtered by the forces of Genesis... fucking Genesis," Jin laughed even harder while leaning against the wall.

"Do you think you have the slightest bit of a chance against the others if you can't even beat Genesis, the weakest of the corporations?" asked Jin, no longer laughing as he turned extremely serious, causing Natalie to fall silent instantly.

"Well... we may stand a chance," said Anna from her chair, turning away from the screens and Thirteen.

"This is a war of information, and we are not lacking in that department." Said Anna, trying to reason with Jin, only to be shot down.

"But what is the worth of information if you don't live long enough to use and utilize it?" Asked Jin while getting up from the wall that he was leaning to to look into the eyes of Natalie.

"You guys are weak. Your numbers have fallen too low from such a pathetic battle... You need to get your shit together if you even want to dream about going after anyone other than Genesis," growled Jin, his frustration evident.

Thirteen didn't say anything, but he had mixed feelings about what Jin was saying. He was completely right, but this didn't mean that being this aggressive towards them would serve their purpose.

When it came to corporations, Jin was a completely different man. Normally kind, but the moment they were about to talk about corporations, Jin turned completely ice-cold and wrathful.

Natalie couldn't say anything, just stared back at Jin with an expression of held-back anger, but not towards Jin.

"Then... then what do you suggest?" she asked after gulping audibly once and swallowing her pride.

"What you need are real weapons, real armor. Because what you are doing right now is nothing but throwing sticks and stones," said Jin as he held his katana in hand, slowly unsheathing it.

"I gladly offer myself as one of these weapons, If you earn the right to wield me, I can be the blade, while Twelve can be the shield. If we see that the Liberation Front is worthy, we will stand beside you as we watch the corporations fall from their skyscrapers and burn to the ground." As he spoke, electricity crackled around his body.

His voice remained distorted, taking on a demonic tone that made him seem like the devil himself offering a contract for a soul.

"Okay then..." said Natalie Dawn, the leader of the Liberation Front, standing before the towering figure of the demon-like Jin.

Even while being conflicted, Natalie was sure that what Jin said was correct, no matter how harsh. The corporations were unimaginably powerful, yet they struggled so much against the weakest one of them.

But with the help of the two before her, she could turn the tides on them and drown them.

"Good, I hope that our partnership will help both of us reach our goals." said Thirteen through the screens, his voice echoing in the closed information room.

"At least tell us one thing," said Natalie, walking closer to Jin, who was still standing, already sheathing his blade back.

"Why do you want to help us? What is your reasoning behind all of this?" asked Natalie, walking closer and closer, pressing Jin for information while Thirteen only gazed at them from the screens that he was plastered all over.

)(

"I prefer not to say, but who am I is not important, the only thing that truly matters is what I want, and my goals align with yours, I hope this is enough because you are not getting more than this." Stated Jin.

"I hope you collected every piece of gear that the dead Genesis soldiers had." Said Jin, continuing to hug the blade in his hand once again.

'This is going to be a nice blade which is good, but I'm still unsure of these guys.' Thought Jin about the Liberation Front, in his eyes they were weak, and someone on their level wouldn't achieve anything.

"We had plans for everything, but after today, I think that we have to scrap those, this fight against Genesis shouldn't have been this difficult." Admitted Natalie while sighing heavily.

"Tell me something first, you say that you know this much of the corporations that you are ready to wage war against them, but I really don't think that you know anything at all, tell me, what do you know of others then genesis." Asked Jin, now even more sure of the fact that they barely knew anything.

"We know what everyone knows, five corporations looking down on us from the other districts, Solstice, Zenith, Hyperion, Genesis, and Ark." Listed their names, Natalie, only to barely pick up on Jin cracking his knuckles on the mention of these corporations.

"The Liberation Front doesn't know anything then." Said Thirteen from the side, his distorted voice echoing in the small, closed-off room.

"As you said, Information is a weapon, and the inlet that we have could very well be a nuke against them." Said Thirteen, a weak distorted chuckle escaping his mouth.

"Okay, let me tell you about some of this intel, as a way to build trust."
