Lav remarked as a flake landed on her nose, causing her to blink in surprise and displeasure. The first snow had arrived, a signal of the season she both dreaded and mourned. Despite the exquisite snowfall, Vio remained captivated by her, his gaze unwavering.
The empty ice cream cups between them seemed almost like a distant memory now. "Mister Isleigh, do you like snow?" Lav's voice held a tinge of sorrow that Vio noticed instantly. For the first ever time, she revealed more than her usual bright facade.
"No" Vio replied quietly, his voice carrying a weight of its own. "I lost my father on a snowy day. The snow reminds me of him" The night, the snow, and the feelings swirling within Vio all seemed to conspire against him, compelling him to reveal his inner stir.
