Chapter 62 - Promises [1]

"If one day you awaken to realize that I am no longer present and your heart begins to question my whereabouts, consider the possibility of returning to our designated meeting spot where you may find me patiently awaiting your arrival."

The corners of Hein's lips found themselves curling up into a smirk as he thought of the promise he made to his so-called girlfriend.

In all honesty, it was his first girlfriend who told him those words, and after finding out how sweet they were, he told them to Meron.

However, both the two girls meant nothing to his hollow heart. Well, ever since he was a kid, he never liked anything.

However, now is the only time he is keeping his promise to the two girls.

"It is my intention to remain steadfast in my position."

His sanguine red eyes clearly looked at the activities happening in the F-block, and the bloody sight of Meron seemed to make joy escalate in his heart.

Crossing his arms, he leaned on the only bucket seat in the whole Rugby field that was at the top of the stadium, and this made him feel special in some way.

...

Crack—!

White lightning cracked through the air as the twin spearman spun in the air and used each other's backs as support to keep themselves afloat.

Swish—!

Joshua and Caleb passed side to side with Meron, using the edge of their spears to make small cuts on her cheeks.

This is all they could do since they couldn't maintain contact with her for long without getting electrified.

However, the one at a disadvantage was the black-haired woman who was touching the ground. Her resonate ability was also hurting the other inmates.

"So they planned this from the start," Meron muttered as she listened to the sound of her own blood touching the ground.

If someone didn't know, they would think that the yellow-skinned woman had tattoos running over her whole body, yet those markings were her own blood.

She stopped crouching and stood up straight on the floor that was now covered by a small layer of dirty blood.

She emotionlessly looked at the purple-eyed spear men who had finally got a chance to stand thanks to her not using her ability.

Spinning his spear around, Joshua states, "You really deserve the title of being called the strongest woman in the Galactic Prison."

Caleb finished his twin brother's statement, "However, when it comes to the strongest of all, you are leagues behind our big sisters."

Thanks to wearing a mask, no one could tell what the twins looked like, but Meron had heard Tito commenting on it.

"Your mouth really looks like that of a turkey. I should have guessed since you have turkey-like voices."

The twin Caleb and Joshua felt greatly insulted by this as their brows knotted up into a frown, but as corrections officers, they had heard a lot of bad words coming from the inmates' mouths.

Caleb gave her the other cheek to slap, "You have mastered your resonate ability to produce lightning from the things you touch well."

Meron just shrugged him off as she understood he was telling her that her ability is a disadvantage here.

However, her mind couldn't help but wonder about the ways she would gain the upper hand against the twin spearman.

She had long figured out that the two were rotating their weapons in their palms to make them look like they were curling around.

'It has been a long time since I depended on my hands to fight someone.'

She knew she couldn't rely solely on her resonate ability anymore and had to return back to what she used in planet Ryan. This made her frown, but she had no time to ponder about her past.

With a sudden burst of speed, Meron darted towards Joshua. Her movement looked predictable to the two twins, and they were sure they would be able to stop her.

However, her fluid actions were nothing to scoff at as she weaved in and out. Joshua tried to hinder her movements as he unleashed deadly strikes from his spear.

Swish—! Swish—! Crack—!

Hearing the crack in the air, Meron narrowly avoided the deadly attacks. Her agility and quick reflexes kept her one step ahead, frustrating both of the twins.

Caleb, not one to be outdone, lunged at Meron from the side. Yet, she had already seen through his move, sidestepping when the blade of the spear was about to cut off her left arm. She delivered a swift blow to the ebony-skinned man's side.

Bam—! Crack—!

The impact broke some of Caleb's ribs, as it took him crashing into the nearby great stone cell bars, momentarily incapacitating him.

Seizing the opportunity, Meron turned her attention back to Joshua. She was already a few inches away from him and quickly let her fist do the talking.

Unlike before when she used to rely on her hands to attack someone, this new, slender body had its own set of advantages. Meron was able to unleash a flurry of punches, kicks, palm strikes, and knee attacks.

Each strike fueled by her determination to prove herself that she was still one of the strongest inmates in Galactic Prison.

Smash—!

With a sound different from the others, the chief corrections officer's face started bleeding as Joshua waited for his brother to come to his rescue.

Each attack made by the yellow-skinned alien felt like a stamp from an elephant's leg on the masked man's face, and with a few more punches, he would be dead.

However, this was in Caleb's eyes. He took hold of his spear and silently approached the violent girl like a carnivore looking at its prey.

Thack—!

He pierced through Meron's left heart with a sound similar to that of a forgotten tomb, and Joshua saw this and used his head to hit the alien in the face.

Bam—!
