Chapter Forty:
"Hey!" a woman's voice suddenly called out and as I open my eyes, I see a mysterious beautiful woman.
Who is she? I wanted to ask her but my voice suddenly gone and I couldn't find a word to say.
"Hey! Are you alright?!" she asked me once again and this time I force myself to speak a word.
"… I… I'm fine."
She smiles at me. "Good! I thought you were going to die…" she looks at me suspiciously. "Though it seems you cannot die." She stated as she looks at me seriously. "So, who are you?" she asked as she stands up straight and cross her arms on her chest.
"I…" I don't know what I should say I just stare at her without blinking but then she just suddenly burst out laughing. "What?!" I look at her surprisingly.
"Oh! Sorry! So sorry!" she said between her laughs. "But! The look in your face looks fascinated. I just couldn't get my eyes off of you."
I don't know but hearing what she just said and the way she smiles at me makes my heart flatter for the very first time. And the same as what she just told me, I couldn't get my eyes off of her. As if I've been hypnotized by her smile and her face, I couldn't say a single word nor even move from where she put me.
Afterwards…
I wait for him to respond but it took us a lot of time before he finally said a word.
"I-I'm sorry." He said and that's it, he even stammered as he speaks up.
What the hell! He looks so cute! But I couldn't say it loud because he might not be able to speak anymore. Anyway, I take a deep, deep breath before I speak.
"So, what are you trying to do there?" I asked as I point my eyes at the fall. "Don't tell me you were supposed to drown yourself there, aren't you?" I jokingly said it as I giggle a little bit.
"Yes, you were right."
I am surprised to his replied and it almost chokes me. "Wh-what!" I spoke. "Are you kidding me?!"
"No, I'm not."
What was he thinking?! Maybe he knows he's a Vampire or maybe he's just new but no, because I'm sure he's been a Vampire for a long time according to his smell. Not that he stinks as an old man but, rather it was his blood that I could smell.
"Then, are you new?"
He looks up to me. "New? What do you mean?"
"I mean… as a Vampire." I simply replied but his eyes widen in surprise.
"Ho-how did you know… I'm a Va-vampire?"
"What? Is it a secret that you are a Vampire?"
Meanwhile…
"Mond, where is he right now?"
"I'm sorry, I lost his tracks."
"What!" I slapped my forehead after hearing and I couldn't believe he will just leave without a word. By the time he will meet his chosen future wife, he suddenly disappeared. Why now? I close my eyes tightly before I look at Redmond. "Go! Find him with the others! And you all need to hurry!"
"Yes, Sir Norward!"
Deep into the Mountain
What the hell! She already knew I'm a Vampire! But how? I am really surprised from what she just told me.
"Hey! What! Don't tell me, the Vampire thing is really a secret? And you are about to eliminate me? Oh, no!" she reacted so suddenly but really, I don't know if she's really afraid or fascinated as what I read through her face.
Suddenly I couldn't stop myself not to laugh from her reaction and it seems it made her smile more. That smile makes my heart beats so fast it almost burst out of my chest and I knew that my face is all red now.
"Oh, no!" I quickly hide my face. "Don't look!" I spoke.
"Why? Because you're all red?"
"What! Ah, just don't look at me!"
"Alright." She happily replied. "Anyway, I need to leave so--"
"Wait!" I immediately stop her by holding her wrist, I don't know what took me the courage to stop and hold her but after hearing she was about to leave, I just let myself to move and stop her.
"What? Are you going to kill me?"
"Of course not!" I immediately answered as look at her.
She smiles at me. "So, you can talk straight." She said before she sighs. "Alright, what is your reason for stopping me from leaving?"
"I…"
"What? Will you be shy to talk to me again?"
"No! I mean!" I take a deep breath. "How many times have you surprised me, the reason why I can't speak to answer your entire questions, okay?" I reasoned out.
"Then, talk now! I won't bite you promise!"
I look at her and that is the only time I notice I'm still holding her wrist. "Oh, I'm sorry!" I said as I quickly released her hand.
"Uhm, I'm fine. My hand is still intact." She jokingly replied and once again it made me speechless. "What! Don't tell me I surprised you again?" she said when she noticed I'm once again speechless.
"N-no!" I stammered and she noticed it but she just shakes her head and keeps quiet. "Alright, first, yes, I'm a Vampire. Second, I don't know how you know I'm a Vampire because in my old age I have never seen you or even met you before. And lastly, I'm not going to kill you if you have a valid reason to know who I am, okay?"
"Uhm!" she said as she nodded. "Well, first, it was your scents that told me you are a Vampire. Second, we never met or never seen each other not in history. And lastly, I don't have a valid reason to tell so you can just kill me if you want." She seriously stated that surprised me but the more surprising was the last she said. "If that is, you can really kill me."
