Chapter Forty-Three:
Three days later…
It's been three days ever since I met the lady in the mountain, I don't know what I should call her since she told me that she is not a Nymph. Even though I asked her what she is, she never told me who she is. She just answered me that if I wanted to know who she really is, then I have to sacrifice my own life.
Sacrifice my own life after telling me she likes me? Who she really is? I badly wanted to know but since that I have some duties to fulfill it takes me three days before I went back. And even though I already came back, I couldn't just go and leave without even reporting to our king.
Since I'm a Duke of the North Kingdom and one of King's Knight Soldier I have the obligation to report to him after taking care of the war against the Manu Clan. It took me half of my day before I finally release to my duty and I quickly run in into the mountains. Hoping to see her even though it took me so long before I came back.
I run as fast as I can into the mountains but because it was already afternoon, I'm not sure if I could still see her. Still, I am hoping to see her once again, I look around as soon as I came into the deep but I cannot see the falls that I usually see. I panic for a reason I don't know but then I heard a familiar voice coming from a tree.
"Miss me?" she said.
I hurriedly look up only to find her sitting on a branch of a tree with ease. "Wh-what are you doing there?"
"Waiting for you." She straightly answered that makes my heart beats fast.
She really caught me off guard whenever I ask her and it made me speechless for a while. "Ahm," I said as I swallow to clear my throat.
"What? Speechless again?" she said and sighed. "Anyway, what took you so long? You let me wait for three days and a half day. So, I thought you forgot about me, but I still wait." She added and shrugs off.
"Yo-you wait?"
"Yes."
"But we're not in the place where we meet."
"Yes."
"Why?"
"She needs to take care of something so she's gone now and because she isn't here, I'm the one in charge of taking care of this place." She answered.
That explained why she's still here and I am happy to see her. "I'm glad to see you again." I honestly replied as I smile sincerely.
She smiles at me before she jumps down at the tree with ease. "What took you so long to be here?"
"Ha?" I was surprised from her sudden question.
"What? Maybe you have a serious reason why you've been gone for so long?"
"Oh, yes. There is."
"And what is it?"
"Duty."
"Duty of what?" she curiously asked and I am not sure if I'm going to tell her who am I. "Why, do you have to keep the duty you say secret?" she seriously asked as I keep quiet.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to keep it a secret but…"
"It is more complicated to explain, right?"
I don't know what to say but I just nodded and spoke. "I'm sorry."
"No need to feel sorry. I also have a secret that needs to be kept from you so it's okay even if you don't tell. I understand." She said and smiled. "Besides, I was the first to keep a secret from you so I understand you if you don't tell me."
"I really don't intend to keep it from you it just that…"
"No more explanations." She sincerely replied. "Furthermore, I'm the only reason why you came here, am I right?" I shyly nodded. "Alright, then! Let us focus to ourselves and let's explore the mountains till the daylight fades."
I don't know but when she said it, I feel that my heart jump in joy. I couldn't explain it because it is my first time to feel like this and yet I'm very glad to feel this kind of mysterious feelings. I just wanted to go on with the flow and let her guide me through this mysterious ride.
Manu Clan Kingdom
"Prince Kieran."
"Have you seen her?" I asked as my right hand came.
"I'm sorry, my Prince but she is not in the palace now."
"Again?"
"Yes."
I can't believe she always disappears whenever I get a chance to see her. Where is she going? Now I wonder. What is she doing outside the palace?
"I want you to do something for me," I said.
"What is it my Prince?"
"I want you to find out where she goes and what she does when she's not in the palace." I ordered.
"Yes, I will." He answered as I nodded in silence.
Deep into the Mountains
The sun finally set down and we just silently sitting at the tip of a mountain. At first, I didn't want to agree to her suggestion that we watch the sunset there because I didn't want to see hurt her. Since I didn't know her very well, I couldn't help but to worry about her. But she was the one insisted that she will be fine and I have nothing to worry about. She really made it so sure that I just agreed in the end.
"What do you think?" she suddenly breaks the silence. "This place is great for watching the sunset, am I right?"
I look at her and smiles. "Yes, you were right. But are you sure you'll be fine with it?" I worriedly asked.
"What do you mean?" she looks at me then she gets it. "Oh, of course I'll be fine! Come on! I know you don't know me yet I'm sure I won't die if I fall here. I promise."
"Wh-what kind are you?" I couldn't get but to ask.
