Chapter 70 - Epiales

Seventy:

'The Punishment of the God of Nightmares'

As soon as God Epiales came out from nowhere, everything that surrounds us suddenly vanished. And the place where we in became the world of nightmares, mysteries are unfolding through and through. I don't know how wide this whole place but I see a vast horizon.

Although, one thing I notice that covering the whole place and it was about the fog that surrounds us. As if the fog hiding something from beyond and it seems I can guess it was the damage that Almos and I have done to his realm.

"I'm sorry." I immediately apologized after hearing what Almos said.

"Jeanne, you––"

"No, Almos. I also feel guilty about what happened inside the dream world. If only I could fully control my whole power Azazel would not have been able to enter the place of dreams. That's why it's also my responsibility to take his punishment."

"But you have already suffered at the hands of Azazel so it is not fair to receive this punishment." He stated that I want to agree and yet I can't because I don't want him to suffer alone from the punishment that God Epiales will give if he wasn't yet done to us.

"Enough!" Epiales voice echoed all throughout the place. "You two already been punished and also finally escape out of it. So, cut the drama and let us proceed to most important thing. Almos."

Almos turned his head towards him and asked. "Yes my Lord?"

"You may fix your realm now." He ordered.

"I will." He answered before turning his gaze back at me. "We have to go."

"Stop." Epiales commanded. "She will be left with me." He added that surprised us both.

"No, she cannot." Almos immediately disagree. "I must return her to the Ninth Kingdom safe and I only trust myself by doing that task."

"No, she's not allowed to go anywhere."

"Why?"

"Because she need to fix her own dream world and by doing that... me and my brother will be the one to assist her."

Almos was about to answer when Sylvia interrupted.

"I'll go with her, Almos."

"But you––"

"I'm her guardian so I have the right to come with her." She said cutting Almos talking.

"You are Sylvia, sent by God Kamali." Suddenly Epiales interrupted us.

When I heard the name of the God mentioned by Epiales, I immediately remembered the mysterious man I saw in my dream or more correctly said from the memory of my past life.

"Sylvia, you know who God Kamali was?" I curiously asked her.

"Indeed." She honestly answered. "He was the one who sent me to Almos and to you and no one knows about it. Not even Goddess Ilmatar or the others."

"Then, he was real." I just finally realize that the dream that I saw before going here was a real one.

"What do mean? Did you already meet him?" Almos curiously asked.

"Yes. And I really thought it was just a dream."

"My lady, that wasn't just a dream," it was Epiales that made me and Almos to stare back at him. "It was a memory from your past life, from a very long time."

"You mean, the Lady name Fe? Is she the one that God Kamali talking to?"

"No, it was not."

So, he means that someone from much longer time? "Who––"

"Who are you talking about?" I was surprised when suddenly Almos asked the same question I will ask and for some reason when I look at him, he looks so serious and there is more than what I could see through his reaction. Something I couldn't explain.

Hearing what Epiales answered to Jeanne, made me realize one thing, there is someone that I knew I have long forgotten or rather has been erased from my memory. And I couldn't just let it slide without knowing who he was talking about.

"Tell me. Who are you talking about?" I asked once again and I knew that Jeanne was surprised with my sudden interest but I couldn't just ignore it because I can feel that he knew something from my past life.

Apiales smiled. "It seems that until now Ilmatar has not revealed the truth to you." He said as fact.

"Indeed. That's why, tell me. If you knew something about my past life then, tell me about it."

He tilted his head before he answered. "You as a former God?"

"God? Me?" shock is what I feel right at this moment that even Jeanne couldn't help me to cope with it.

"Almos!" she called out for I don't know how many times, which made me stare at her. "Are you alright?" she worriedly asked and it shows through her face.

"I can't blame you if you were surprised by what I said, but I think you already have an idea of your true personality when you were able to use the holy sword that is only given to the children of the creator. That's why you shouldn't have been surprised by what I said, Almos. Or should I call you to your former name… El––"

"God Epiales!" suddenly a voice of a Goddess echoed through the realm of nightmares and I immediately knew who owns it.

"Goddess Ilmatar, who let you in?" Epiales surprisingly asked.

"Me." Another voice that came from a man answered and it was no other than…

"God Morpheus." I said his name out loud.

Morpheus looks at me. "I'm glad to see you again, Angel Almos." He said before turning his gaze back to Epiales. "You must not meddle with the duty of another God or Goddess, Epiales. Because our Father has assigned to us our respective duties and responsibilities, so you have no right to say whatever you know. And I knew you clearly understand that."

That I disagree since Ilmatar will not speak of it no matter what I do or how much I plead or get angry she'll say nothing at all.
