Chereads / Almos / Chapter 67 - Someone

Chapter 67 - Someone

Sixty-Seven:

'A someone… not something.'

That was she clearly said and yet I couldn't grasp what she mean. It feels like, there is an invisible force that is trying to cover the things that I should remember. But the question is, why and who doing this to me? That made me to decide to find out the truth.

I seriously and intently stare at her. "Enlighten me, Sylvia." I eagerly pleaded because I badly wanted to know what makes me feel so strange that I want to get out of here as soon as possible.

Sylvia looks at me and simply smile. "You can do it with your own."

"What do––" I was about to ask to clear what she just said when I saw a familiar face.

"You already found your purpose to be enlighten, Almos. Yet, there will be an obstacle that you need to surpass."

"And what is that?"

"It isn't what. It is who."

She done it again and yet I can't say a word to stop her correcting my questions. Because I know to myself, she is right with every word she corrected.

I sigh deeply before I answer. "How would I know I can surpass that 'who'?"

"Uhm, you will know it."

"I––" I was about to answer when I noticed her face again. I couldn't take my eyes off of her because I knew who she is.

"Talk to her," suddenly Sylvia spoke. "There is only a little seconds that you can speak to her."

"Jeanne." I suddenly spoke out her name and remember she was the one that I left behind, the 'someone' so important yet I couldn't recall the reason.

"Do you need the reason to get near her?"

"Ha?!" I was surprised about what Sylvia asked me.

"What?"

"No, of course not!" I answered even though the truth there is some doubts of approaching her for a reason that she looks like she already accepted the life she had today. As if I can no longer change her mind to find out the truth that we are looking for.

"Go! Before she got away," Sylvia said and pushes me towards Jeanne.

"Did you already accept this fate you were in?" I don't know why I said those words instead of talking to her normally. It made me feel lost for a while so I quickly decide to face her but then I was surprised when I saw myself walking away from her.

I got ahead of her and was talking with other students. I don't know how it happened although I already felt that someone was behind it all.

"Class President, are you alright?" the student at my right suddenly asked that caught my attention and everything that I and Sylvia talked was just simply vanished to my memory.

"Yes I'm fine." I answered. "Let's proceed to our office room and talk about that plan of yours."

I don't know how long the time passes by I just continue what I knew to do as the Class President of our school. Although there is something keeps bothering me, I just couldn't give it a time to clarify all of it. Until, I saw her again and this time I am so sure, I need to talk to her in secret far from the eyes of 'whoever' controlling us in this place.

I approach her when I saw a silhouette standing right next to Jeanne the reason for me to walk fast as I could just to reach Jeanne. But the only words that I spoke were…

"How long are you going to ignore the truth?"

And I am back to where I was started. Talking with my fellow student councils, what on Earth happened? It was too fast that I couldn't even remember how I manage to go back to where am I just earlier.

I feel like, there is really someone who's controlling the events happening here and one thing for sure, that someone wants me and Jeanne be separated as much as possible.

Class President's Meeting Room

Without warning, the door suddenly forcefully opens and the person who came out of the door is no other than Jeanne.

"You–––" shocked and embarrassment was written all over her face when he saw me surrounded by the other student councils. I don't know what I should react or say yet it's her who quickly realize what is going on and as quick as she entered she left so fast after saying sorry and closes the door without looking back.

"Who was that?" one of the student council breaks the silence.

"That's–––"

"I have to go!" I quickly decided as I stand up.

"But–––"

"You'll handle this." I said cutting off our Class Vice President and just left the meeting room ignoring their call.

Rooftop

I decided to go straight to where Jeanne will run off and I'm glad that I am right. She was there at the rooftop silently shouting her embarrassment. I know and so sure she was screaming to herself, as if I can hear the voice inside her head.

I can't explain it but I know I can clearly hear the voice from the inside.

'Of course you can hear it.' Suddenly Sylvia spoke to me by telepathy.

'Sylvia? How?'

'You knew who you are, Almos. So, don't let him control you.'

'Who's him?'

'The one that controls––'

'Sylvia!' I shouted when suddenly I lost track of her voice. I quickly look around but to no avail, I cannot find her anywhere. 'What happened to her? Who was 'him' that she was talking about?'

I take a deep breath and focus myself onto Jeanne, and it took me a while before I speak to her.

"That was unexpected of you."

As she turned around, I clearly saw how shocked she is when I just suddenly pop out unnoticed that made her speechless and begins to look pale. And seeing her like that really worries me a lot.
