"Get lost!"
As Rina got thrown out in the rain by Sinclair's guards, her mother got thrown out moments later as well. Sinclair was extremely enraged, one could tell by the anger on his face right now.
"Don't you ever think of coming back here, you hear me? Take your cursed daughter with you, the both of you can get lost for all I care! I'm taking a new wife today and she's gonna give me a son!" He thundered, breathing hard.
Gwen hiccuped through her tears as she crawled towards her daughter. She knew begging her husband right now wouldn't change anything, she had tried to placate him but it didn't make him change his decision hours ago. As she got to her daughter's side, she thought she'd meet her crying.
However, when Rina lifted her head up, a dark smile was painted across her face, and Gwen felt a wave of fright engulfed her for a fleeting moment.
"I'm gonna kill him, mother. I swear it." Rina whispered fiercely and Gwen fell in the sand, eyes widening and almost falling out of her sockets. She has never seen such emotion on Rina's face before, and it frightened her because she was aware that Rina never says something she'd never do.
"W- what do you mean?" Gwen whispered as she regarded her daughter closely. Her daughter looked the same way she does every other day, but the sinister smile on her face right now made her look so different, almost unrecognizable.
As Rina glanced at Gwen, who was clearly confused and scared, she almost rolled her eyes. She abruptly rose to her feet and held a hand out to her.
Gwen tentatively accepted her daughter's hand and got tugged up at once. As they stood before each other right now, Rina towered over her mother's smaller frame, but that didn't surprise Gwen because she concluded her daughter took after Sinclair. At age twenty, her daughter wasn't a little girl anymore and is now a grown woman.
"I'm gonna kill father." Rina informed Gwen in the pouring rain and Gwen blinked once, heart racing as she hastily reached for her child's hands.
"Child… I- I know you're angry that the royal court removed you from taking over the throne and I know you're mad that your father threw us out and made us homeless." Gwen started and Rina blinked once before shaking her head and tugging her hand from Gwen's grip.
"That's not why I'm killing him." She informed Gwen on a long exhale. As she stared up into the grey sky, she almost snorted at the fact that Gwen genuinely thought she gave two fucks about the throne or about the fact that the bastard Sinclair threw her out.
"Then why?" Gwen asked softly, tugging Rina back to the present.
"Is it because of how he hurts me every night? Child, I've told you that it's normal." She continued and once again, Rina found herself scoffing. She had caught Sinclair literally forcing himself on Gwen one night and after confronting Gwen about it, she realized that getting raped every night by one's husband was a normality to not just Gwen, but to almost every other woman in this world. That piece of information made Rina hate Sinclair even more, but that's certainly not why Rina wanted to kill him.
Because once again, Rina never kills because she wanted to avenge someone. That's an attribute of a heroine, and Rina was the furthest thing from being one.
The reason why she was gonna kill Sinclair at all cost, was because last night, Sinclair told Gwen he was taking his daughter to the royal court so that a final decision could be made. Meanwhile, he took her straight to the king, with a bunch of the royal court members being present.
Apparently, the last price Sinclair had to pay for his family to finally sit on the throne, was for his daughter to be used in a gang bang by the slimy looking king and the members of his royal court.
Sinclair hasn't hesitated, he had readily agreed, showing how he clearly didn't give two fucks about his daughter. Like that wasn't bad enough, he also planned on taking place in the gang bang.
Of course, Rina had to act powerless at first when the door got sealed and the royal court members began to undress, not wanting to give herself away. But when one of the members tried to touch her, she dodged them and dealt with those in her way before fleeing the palace. At first, she contemplated not returning back to Sinclair's house, but she literally had nowhere else to go, so she returned there and waited. As soon as he arrived, when he arrived at her bedroom, Rina expected him to try apologizing for for setting her up to get gang raped the previous night by the king and the royal court members and for him to ask that she keep it away from Gwen. However, he basically threatened her that he was gonna kill Gwen if a word from the previous night got out.
And there was nothing Rina hated as much as getting threatened right in the face.
Which was why Rina decided within herself that she was gonna kill Sinclair.
Not just Sinclair, but the reigning king and the members of the royal court as well. She was gonna kill them all.
"Let's get out of the rain, Marina, else you're gonna catch a cold." Gwen called out, tugging Rina out of her thoughts and with a long exhale, Rina and her mother began to walk down the empty street which still appeared extremely colorful even in the rain.
"Where are we going?" Rina asked Gwen who sighed and sniffled, having been crying since the moment they got thrown in the rain. Rina rarely feels pity for people, but right now, she felt pity for this innocent woman, whose only crime was birthing a mute, unresponsive baby, whose body somehow got possessed by Rina's wandering spirit after she got killed.
