As Dan wandered through the manor, heading to the curt yard his mind weighed down by the gravity of his new responsibility, he found himself pondering the daunting task ahead. The city lord had placed his trust in Dan to train the soldier to match his own prowess. But in this world devoid of the structured systems of the games he knew, there were no experience points to earn, no levels to climb.
Dan's as he pondered the dilemma. How could he empower the people without the structured framework of a game-like system? How could he help them grow stronger.
Lost in thought, Dan's feet carried him forward until he found himself standing in the courtyard, surrounded by eager faces awaiting his guidance.
Before he could speak, the soldiers bombarded him with questions. "How did you defeat Sebastian?" they asked. "What makes you so strong?" "How can I become as formidable as you?"
Dan took a step back, expecting resentment or hostility from the soldiers for defeating their master, Sebastian. However, to his surprise, they greeted him with enthusiasm and eagerness to learn from him.
Dan adjusted his stance and spoke with authority, silencing the soldiers' questions. "Stop talking. I want you to line up in three rows," he commanded, his voice firm. "The first row will consist of those with the most experience, the second row with less experience, and the third row with barely any experience. Do you understand me?"
The soldiers initially hesitated, but the head guard repeated Dan's instructions, prompting them to fall into line accordingly.
Dan observed the arrangement: 50 soldiers in the first row, 40 in the second, and none in the last. He thought to himself, "Of course, they wouldn't have anyone with no experience working here."
Dan began demonstrating the exercise known as a burpee to the soldiers, explaining each step carefully. Although some of the soldiers looked at him with skepticism, they kept their thoughts to themselves.
Dan ceased the burpee demonstration and instructed the soldiers to spread out and begin. He informed them that this training regimen would continue daily until instructed otherwise by the city lord.
Dan diligently walked around the training area, carefully observing each soldier as they performed the exercises. If he noticed anyone performing the exercises incorrectly, he promptly corrected their form. Furthermore, if he caught anyone slacking off or not putting in their full effort, he would sternly remind them of the consequences, emphasizing that he would report any negligence to the city lord.
After watching them for about an hour, Dan decided it was time for a break. He instructed the soldiers to take a 30-minute break before continuing with their training. As they dispersed to rest and recuperate, Dan surveyed the sprawling grounds of the manor, pondering how best to utilize the space for training.
Once the break had concluded, Dan reconvened the soldiers and outlined his plan for the remainder of the session. They would begin with another round of burpees to warm up, followed by a rigorous two-mile run around the expansive grounds. Afterward, they would take another 30-minute break before engaging in sparring sessions with each other for the rest of the training session.
