After 6 months out, it was finally today, July 10th.

After 6 months under careful scrutiny by the genius mech designer, Lucius Volstag to make sure that the only survivor of the human-machine integration project had no faults, Andrew was finally ready to re-integrate with society.

Andrew swaggered his way into the mech bay.

"And the human bot is back". A loud voice said the next moment as soon as he noticed Andrew, then he laughed. "How are you feeling today man?"

This man was one of the mech pilots working for Lucius Mech Company.

He was not standing alone. With the other 4 mech pilots standing beside him, they formed a small part of one of the mech units of the mech company.

Andrew looked towards this brown-haired man who also wore a brown beard with a smile on his face. "I'm excited man, I can't wait to get back to the police station".

"It'd be as if I came back from the dead".

"You did come back from the dead man, I mean look at you, a human bot".

"Hahaha!" The others burst out laughing.

Andrew was not offended; he was used to it already as he also chuckled before going to the corner of this bay where the mech technicians gathered.

Observing the mech technicians at work was one of his daily tasks that was given by the boss after a series of last tests about a month ago.

Being part human, part robot now, to avoid any complications that will make the government scrap his research, Lucius spent so much time with him and was meticulous, making sure there was no shortcomings.

Afterall, Andrew was the only validation of his research project.

For the past 6 months, Andrew remained confined to the headquarters of Lucius Mech Company, learning to master the new part of himself, the computer system controlled by the Camdragon G66 chipset that was integrated into him.

After such a long time of working on it, Andrew no longer felt weird when his eyes suddenly started superimposing and displaying information to him.

He already more or less got used to the system.

And under the boss' orders, his new task was soaking in as much information as possible. With the system, learning had never been easier.

Every day, before the mech pilots took their mechs out on their usual patrols, the mech technicians checked them to make sure they were in order.

And if there were any problems, they would fix it.

If the problem was too big for them to handle, they would document it before sending it to their higher-ups, the assistant mech designers working under the great Lucius Volstad.

It was this tweaking process that Andrew had been learning for weeks with the help of his integrated computer system.

After months staying with them, Andrew was already used to the giant mechs all over this company that made his daily life so much more exciting.

They made him feel like a dwarf living among giants.

This was a towering Shotgun-wielding 4-meter-tall giant humanoid mech.

Today though, as Andrew observed the mech technicians do their work like usual, after weeks of slow progress on his integrated system interface, he finally got what he was looking out for.

The progress was completed.

Andrew heaved a sigh of relief on seeing this, he had yearned so much for this. He didn't leave immediately though, he stayed some more, bonding with the mech pilots and mech technicians some more before leaving.

After leaving, he met Lucius again who became ecstatic.

At this point, Andrew had one of the easiest access to the CEO of Lucius Industries. Not even his girlfriend had this much access to him.

"Good, good," Lucius commended with a smile on his face. "After the welcome party, your superiors there will commence your neural aptitude test again to confirm if you're still compatible to pilot a combat mech".

"From my tests, you are still more than capable, probably even better than before the accident".

"When you come back, we'll officially go to mech piloting".

Hearing that, Andrew smiled brightly. "Thanks boss". Then, he left.

Andrew had waited so long to hear that. He always heard that he was a policeman from others, but due to losing this body's original memories, he had no recollections of it.

One thing that kept him going through these 6 months was his yearning to pilot a combat mech for the first time.

He wondered how it felt like.

As Andrew returned to his room, a lot of things went through his mind.

Apart from learning how to tweak mechs and other basic skills related to mechs, with his computer system, Andrew finally learned about this world.

This world was called Planet Satera.

There was no information on the internet about the solar system here.

From the information available on the net, there was only Planet Satera and the planet was divided into 3 major territories ruled by the big 3 Kingdoms; the Vemido Kingdom, the Teodor Kingdom, and the Mewen Kingdom.

The Stockport Kingdom was one of the powerful medium sized Kingdoms.

In this world, there were certain rules.

This was a world where humans develop aptitude for either of 2 things, magic or mechs.

For magic, it's called magic talent and for mechs, it's called neural aptitude.

Neural aptitude for mech pilots was graded from Grade A to E.

Grade A were the best of the best, the prodigious humans born with inhuman mech piloting talent. Grade E had 0 aptitude for mech piloting, and Grade D were the weakest types of mech pilots.

Andrew was a Grade D mech pilot of the Philadelphus District police.

For most of the day, Andrew spent it like usual bonding with others and his computer system and when it was evening, time finally came.

Alongside an entourage from Lucius Mech Company, Andrew finally made his triumphant return to the Philadelphus District police.

The welcome party for him as the sole survivor among the victims of the disaster of Hellport Street was pretty glamorous.

There, he caught up with old acquaintances in the police.

Of course, he had no memory recollections of them but his body simply gave him hints that they were once close.

And once they came up to meet him, Andrew improvised expertly.

And after a long night of celebrations, at exactly 12:00am in the morning, he was finally led away by designated policemen.

It was time to confirm his neural aptitude again after 6 months out.
