Outside, Wallace never expected that Mage Marcus would actually agree to his request.
He also realized that these people could stream live videos, which was surprising.
Earlier, he wanted to see it for himself, but he needed to know first if what was on his mind was real. And then, it made Wallace believe even more strongly, convinced that he had some kind of special ability or an advantage.
He felt tempted to join the game, but he wondered how it compared to the virtual game he used to play back on Earth.
Driven by curiosity, he explored all his options among those who entered and eventually chose Marcus as the leader of the group since he was the only mage and had the highest level.
Wallace was very curious about how the leader made decisions and what a Mage would do inside the game. And now, there he was, holding his wrist up high, staring at the holographic screen projected from his futuristic bracelet.
Before he knew it, on Marcus's side inside the game, a strange creature appeared in front of Marcus.
"What the... Oh... a high-level orangutan..." he exclaimed, surprised, as he watched Marcus confront the creature from a third-person view.
Suddenly, another scene unfolded, and this made Wallace feel like he was on the edge of his seat.
On the hologram, Marcus looked at his hands, his voice filled with power as he said, "I use my magic power to summon the burning flame inside my heart!"
Inside the game, Marcus felt excited as he cast the spell, imagining a fiery ball appearing above his hand.
However, after he said the words, to his disappointment, the fireball on his hand didn't appear as he expected it to.
Confused, he tried the spell again, saying with determination, "I use my energy to summon the fire inside me!"
Still, no fireball appeared, and he somehow felt like he couldn't use his magic power. He looked puzzled and asked, "What's going on? Why isn't my magic working? Why can't I use my magic power to cast spells?"
He mumbled in frustration.
Just as he was about to try the spell once more, he noticed something below him—a chat box appeared with a message:
[ Game Master Wallace: It won't work, forget about using magic, just punch the orangutan, maybe that'll work... ]
Despite the message, Marcus ignored it and remained determined. With renewed resolve, he repeated the spell, "I use my energy to summon the fire inside me!"
At that moment, the creature suddenly attacked, catching Marcus off guard.
Bam!
The impact was strong, a punch that shook Marcus's entire body.
Dazed, he stumbled backward, his mind spinning from the unexpected hit.
Before he could recover, two more powerful punches struck him in the head, causing waves of pain to surge through his skull.
Gasping for air, he slowly regained consciousness, his vision blurry and his anger flaring.
"You bastard!"
Marcus shouted angrily, his voice filled with fury.
With a rush of adrenaline, he gathered his strength and prepared to fight back, refusing to surrender to the creature's relentless assault.
The battle had just begun, and while Marcus wasn't determined to come out on top, he was resolute in seeking significant payback against this creature.
Outside, Wallace stood frozen, his eyes wide with surprise as he watched the unexpected show unfolding before him.
"Hahahaha!"
He laughed as a fierce fight had erupted between the towering figure of an orangutan and the formidable Bloodseeker Mage Marcus.
The sound of punches landing and the grunts of effort filled the air, creating a suspenseful atmosphere.
Unable to contain his amusement, Wallace burst into loud laughter, his joy echoing through the area.
"Oh, what a punch! Ahahaha! I never expected that choosing this Mage would lead to the best first scene that I watched!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with happiness.
With every punch, kick, and move, his excitement grew, and he found himself cheering for both fighters.
"Yes, that's right!" he shouted, his words full of enthusiasm.
"Kick him! Knock him down! Punch him below the belt! Fight back! Wrestle him!"
As the intense battle continued, Wallace couldn't help but feel certain.
Deep inside, he knew that Mage Marcus would come out as the winner.
"It's not surprising," he whispered, his voice brimming with confidence. "They're both at the same level, but the mage who has a strong body has the advantage. In my previous life, I watched a movie where strong predators fought bears. They had the amazing ability to hurt the bears with their punches, just like regular humans. If they could defeat a bear, then an orangutan wouldn't stand a chance."
As Wallace said those, his gaze was somehow focused on the orangutan's forehead, where the words [ level 5 ] and the name [ Orangutan ] were written.
Is this for real?
Why does it have some kind of leveling up?
In my past life, they didn't have that.
"Should I play? I want to find out," he thought, a touch of nostalgia creeping into his voice. "In my past, they didn't even have that idea."
After that, Wallace turned his head towards the Dungeon door, "I want to play!"
However, something feels wrong about this.
Soon, he looked at the screen and watched Marcus with the fallen ape.
Marcus gasped for air, his heart beating fast from the excitement after his intense fight with the Ape.
Leaning against the big tree that protected him from the heavy rain, he glanced sideways at the defeated creature beside him.
A proud smile curved his lips as he remembered how he had choked the life out of the beast, not letting it breathe.
Ah, the satisfaction was so sweet.
Taking a ragged breath, Marcus gathered enough strength to speak, his voice filled with a mix of victory and tiredness.
"Luckily, my time with my lower-ranked mana Knights has taught me a thing or two about fighting up close," he said, his words interrupted by heavy breaths.
Pausing to calm down, he continued, "But the real problem is the lack of magic in this world... How can I survive in this dangerous place for long without it?"
His mind was busy with thoughts of the dangerous scents that could bring swarms of creatures, making him an irresistible target.
It was a grim reality he hated and desperately wanted to avoid.
However, trapped within the dungeon, he thought maybe it was part of it. And Marcus knew that his chances of staying alive without magic were not good.
Suddenly, a spark of hope ignited within him as his eyes caught sight of the familiar chat box.
The sound of a message startled him, and he read the words on the screen.
[ GM Wallace: Haha, what a show you've put on! You've really entertained me. Now, bathe in its blood and give me more of this thrilling performance… ]
The message lingered in the air, sinking into Marcus's mind.
Anger rose in him when he saw it was the new Baron kid again, "you jerk-" he mumbled, but he stopped his anger as he realized that Wallace might hold the key to his survival.
At first, Marcus had doubted the intentions of this new powerful Baron, but the fight with the Ape had left a lasting impression.
It was as if Wallace had been controlling the chaos for his own entertainment.
After finding this solution, Marcus tightened his fists.
Wallace's strange message contained a clue, a lifeline in the middle of the chaos. Perhaps, just maybe, this twisted and clever mind of the Baron could guide him through this dangerous maze.
Soon, his eyes landed on the ape, and then a spark appeared inside of him.
