Chapter 59 - What did you do Bonus

The group started to move, as Oscar and Blake were in the back, as they spoke.

Blake looked at Oscar as he spoke. "So which one of your skills you used to help Weiss".

Oscar looked at Blake as he spoke. "I was originally planning to use Shadow arms, but then I didn't, it is much user on me, then it on someone's else, too many things would be agent's me, the table could have moves, someone could have noticed the cards being switched, the they could have noticed the floating cards and much more".

Blake raised an eyebrow, her curiosity piqued. "So, what did you do instead?"

Oscar gave her a small grin. "I used Loki Lie it's a little more subtle and effective. With my focus, I can manipulate someone's perception of the truth, especially when they're already trying to deceive themselves. It makes them lower their guard. Carmine was trying to play us, but I made sure he didn't notice that we were playing him just as much."

Blake nodded slowly, impressed. "So, you didn't just win the game, you controlled the conversation."

Oscar shrugged, looking ahead. "Exactly. And if Carmine had tried something sneaky with his cards, I could've shifted his perception just enough to make him second-guess himself. It's all about playing the long game. No need to get flashy when you can manipulate the situation from behind the scenes."

Blake chuckled lightly. "I see you've been learning from the best." She paused. "You're not worried about Carmine's warning, are you? About Torchwick?"

Oscar's expression darkened slightly. "We've been preparing for this. I'm not worried about Torchwick—he's dangerous, but I'm more concerned about what else might be out there. I just... I don't want anyone in the team to get hurt because we underestimated him."

Blake smiled faintly, her voice softening. "You care a lot about them, don't you?"

Oscar glanced at her briefly, his expression softening before he nodded. "More than I'd care to admit. Sometimes I feel like I've got to protect everyone. But it's not just about protecting them. It's about making sure we all make it through this together."

Blake looked ahead, her expression thoughtful. "You're a lot like I used to be," she said quietly. "Always thinking it's your responsibility to shoulder the burden alone."

Oscar met her gaze, surprised. "How did you—?"

Blake smiled faintly. "I'm the same way. I've always been trying to protect people, and sometimes it's easy to forget that you can't do it alone."

There was a quiet understanding between them as they continued walking. Oscar knew that Blake had been through a lot, and her words reminded him that even the strongest people needed support.

"I think that's why we make a good team," Oscar said after a moment. "Because we understand that sometimes, we all need someone to lean on."

Blake gave him a nod, her gaze steady. "Exactly. And that's why we're going to take down Torchwick—together."

The weight of the mission loomed ahead, but for a brief moment, they shared a quiet sense of resolve, knowing they weren't facing it alone.

Blake looked as she spoke. "First of all, the more I learn about your gamer System and what you can do with makes you more broken, and second even do you helped Weiss".

Oscar then finished it for her. "It was her own skill that win the match".

Blake then made a joke. "You know with your skill maybe you could make a persona to be in the underworld".

Oscar just stopped, the joke flying over his head, as he spoke as Blake thought what he said was also a joke. "I will think about it".

Blake blinked, surprised by Oscar's response. She'd been half-joking, but the seriousness in his tone caught her off guard. "Wait, you're actually considering that?" she asked, a bit amused and confused at the same time.

Oscar shrugged, a mischievous glint appearing in his eyes. "Why not? If I'm gonna be involved with all this, might as well lean into it. I could create a whole persona, be like a mysterious underworld figure with a flair for the dramatic."

Blake laughed, realizing he was serious but still light-hearted about it. "You? A mysterious figure?" She grinned. "I can't even imagine it."

Oscar leaned in slightly, his voice dropping to a mock-serious tone. "You'd be surprised, Blake. I've got the skills, the charm, and a flair for the unexpected." He paused for effect, "And who knows? I could make the underworld a little more... entertaining."

Blake rolled her eyes, a smirk tugging at her lips. "You're definitely one to embrace chaos."

Oscar grinned, leaning back. "Hey, I call it creativity. Besides, it's not like I'm doing this for the fame. It's just... fun." His smile faded slightly, replaced by a more thoughtful expression. "But seriously, when it comes to helping people, I'm all in."

Blake nodded, sensing the shift in his tone. "I know you are. And that's why I'm glad to have you with us."

Oscar's smile returned, though it was a little softer. "Same here. We've got a good team." He paused, looking around at their group. "And I'll do whatever it takes to make sure we all get through this. No more secrets."

Blake raised an eyebrow at that. "No more secrets?"

Oscar gave a small, sheepish grin. "Well, maybe a few. But I'll be upfront when it matters."

Blake smirked. "I'll hold you to that."

As they continued their walk, the camaraderie between them felt stronger. There was an unspoken understanding that, despite the dangerous paths they walked, they could count on each other—whether it was in the heat of battle or in moments like this, joking about personas and their next move.
