The attack that the cyclops unleashed on the people underneath him was colossal, the beam of energy looked like the sun itself had descended on the city, and the force and the energy could be felt all the way to the port where the large ships in the sea had started shaking violently along with the sea, Ron and the others looked at the falling fountain of energy with dread, he wasn't sure how could anyone survive something like that. He kicked the wolf Lufius underneath him to move forward and the others broke out of their trance and slowly started running towards the beam even as the earth below them shook like they were back on the sea. Tall houses and buildings fell on their own and everyone in the city held on to something as the shockwaves spread through the city.
When Fiona and the others reached the castle where they could see the point of impact of the beam, they were expecting to find a large crater or it going straight to the depths of the earth, but what they saw shocked them even more. There was someone directly underneath it taking the full force of it, as they got closer, they saw another similarly bright light growing bigger and bigger just yellow in color, Ron saw that it was none other than Isanna aiming towards the head of the cyclops her sword had turned into a small canon and a very large ball of condensed yellow energy was forming at its mouth still growing bigger, and then as it got big enough to compare to the cyclops, it burst forward and a yellow energy beam brightened the sky in an instant and its target was the cyclopses eye which exploded at impact and the energy beam from it stopped and the earth stopped shaking, just then a large beast like man jumped from the top of the castle with a large rock in its hand and he smashed it in the cyclops head so hard that it caved its skull in further.
A crater had formed in the earth but not because of the beam instead of the man's legs blocking the beam and Ron saw the man emerge from the deep hole, it was Derek his sword had grown in size it was as wide as his body like a shield and was glowing a bright shade of silver and one of his eye had changed colors.
The cyclops had stopped moving and slowly its body started disintegrating into small balls of energy which floated high above into the sky and vanished. The big half-breed man dropped down onto the ground.
"Father!" James shouted and ran to him and they followed.
"Do you think they are done yet?" Isanna asked Derek as they approached.
"I don't think so, they won't abandon the city just after one attempt," said Derek.
"James! Where is your sister and the princess?" asked Forin.
"Emily? I thought they would be here," said James.
"Yeah, they and Weiss, they were all together when they left," said Dean.
"Ron, Fiona you guys need to find the princess and secure her," said Isanna.
"Go with them James, Dean make sure they are safe," said Forin.
"But what about here?" asked James.
"We'll handle things here," said Lufius transforming back into a hybrid state. Ron got on Dean's back and Fiona on James's and they took off.
"Where else can they be, we have been to all the places where the barbarians are?" asked Dean.
"We saw them last at the port when we divided and launched the attack," said James.
"Yeah, and with all the chaos I couldn't keep track of a thing," said Dean.
"The ports are empty now, maybe we should look somewhere else," said James.
"The port isn't empty," said Fiona.
"What?" asked James stopping.
"Yeah, we were attacked by their canons when we came here by boat, so there must be barbarians still in their ships," said Fiona.
"And that would be a pretty good place to hide them," said Dean.
"We need to hurry, if they see that they are losing, they might try to run away," said James and they took off with great speed.
Back at the castle, Derek and the others were taking care of the barbarians that were left when Derek again felt something change in the atmosphere. The barbarians were retreating, they weren't fighting anymore but trying to get out of the area.
Derek stopped and looked around, the air had gone weirdly still suddenly and a silence fell in the area as the number of dead bodies increased and there were more corpses in the city than living people, mostly barbarians. Suddenly three red cloaked figures appeared in the air, floating in the air completely still.
"Blood mages," Derek whispered. They turned their attention towards the floating figures.
"I'll take the one on the right," said Isanna.
"Be careful, you have never faced them before," said Derek.
"Any pointers?" she asked.
"They are very smart and do not always use just physical attacks," said Derek.
Isanna's target seemed to know she had chosen him because he started floating away from the rest and Isanna followed him slowly until they were in a separate clearing away from the rest.
"I was hoping to get some alone time with you," a voice came from beneath the robe which made Isanna's body shiver for some reason, it didn't sound human at all, but as if it was coming from a deep and dark cave. She started hearing beating sounds coming from somewhere, at first they sounded like drums and she was reminded of her childhood when her mother used to take her to the Sun God festival and they used to dance on the drums played by the gypsies for hours, then the sounds changed into swords clashing and she was reminded of the earliest days of her training at the academy, then they transformed into horns and she was reminded of the first marches she went on when she joined the old man's battalion. But these weren't just memories, her head had started swirling around and the city seemed to melt around her and she felt like she was traveling through time. Then the beats turned into rain falling on stone pavements outside her house, and she was brought back to the rainy night she found Ron all bundled up outside her house, it was a good memory but it turned bad when the sounds changed into the rhythmic sound of flesh hitting flesh and she was back in Marty's room, naked and he was fucking her from behind. She could feel the pleasure as if it was real, she looked up and saw the door to the room ajar and Ron looking at her shameful self, she screamed clutching her head.
The robed figure laughed at her as She was kneeling in the street clutching her head tormented by something that only she could see.
"Haha, I hadn't expected to find so many demons in your past, by the time I make you relive all of them, your brain would have turned into soup," he said and laughed.
Isanna was too shocked by the fact that Ron had seen her, she knew it all along but her brain had just blocked the memory after the drunk night, but the guilt and pain were ripping through her heart, it was her fault, she shouldn't have trusted Marty and she shouldn't have slept with him.
