As the moon hung high, casting its silvery glow over the battlefield, the tension between Rosugan and Morchell was palpable. It's the last night of the war between The Luminari and The Mordant. The Luminari possess the good and light, while The Mordant possess the evil and darkness.
Look around you, Morchell! See the devastation, your darkness has brought upon us, said Rosugan in anger.
You're a fearsome warrior, unwaveringly loyal to your master and homeland. But I fear that your own rage will consume you, Morchell cautioned.
Rosugan took a step forward, his sword gleaming in the moonlight. "It's not too late, Morchell. Renounce your darkness, join us, and we can end this war".
Morchell laughed bitterly and said "Yielding was never in my nature. My master taught me to harness the shadows, to be unbreakable." His voice dropped to a whisper, "Can you imagine the strength that comes with that?"
Rosugan's grip tightened on his sword. With a swift motion, he lunged at Morchell, his blade aimed at his heart.
Morchell's reflexes were lightning-fast. His iron hands caught the blade, shattering it into a cloud of shimmering fragments.Despite Rosugan's best efforts to defend himself, Morchell's relentless assault was too much. A deep gash appeared on Rosugan's side, staining his armor with blood.
Rosugan gritted his teeth against the pain, "You may wound me, Morchell, but you won't break me," he spat out defiantly, clutching his injured side. He nearly exhausted and gasping for breath, seemed to be nearing the end of his strength. However, with a desperate move, he reached behind him and pulled out a small, sharp knife. With the last of his energy, he lunged at Morchell, driving the blade deep into his heart. Almost immediately, Morchell's body began to tremble violently, consumed by an intense heat. Before his eyes, his form started to disintegrate, turning to ash.
As Morchell's life faded away, he whispered to Rosugan, "You may have defeated me, but know this: I am immortal. I will live forever in a parallel world."
With those final words, Rosugan's grip on the knife loosened, and he collapsed beside. Gasping for breath, Rosugan whispered, his voice barely audible, "Master Shaw, I have done what was necessary, but at great cost. Guide me now, in this life and the next."
After a few moments, Master Shaw appeared before Rosugan, his presence calming and reassuring. "I am here, my child," Master Shaw said softly, kneeling beside him. "You fought bravely, not just for us, but for the next generation."
"Master, I have something to share about Morchell," Rosugan began, his voice tinged with uncertainty. "Before he vanished and turned into ash, he told me that he is immortal and will live forever in a parallel world. What does this mean?"
"No way, it can't be," Master Shaw murmured, his face pale with concern. "I'm afraid he may have found a way to achieve immortality. Like our world, there are parallel worlds similar to ours. He may have found a way to access one."
Rosugan asked, What should we do now ?
"We have only one hope, and that hope is you. You have to reach the parallel world," said Master Shaw.
"How can I reach there? I am dying, Master," replied Rosugan, his voice weakens.
"Even if you are dying, you still have a chance to live and gain access to the parallel world. If your heart is pure, the Lord will help you reach it."
Upon hearing this, Rosugan took his last breath and passed away.
