Chapter 64 - Ch.64 Little Spidery's Big Adventure (Top)

In the end, it is Matt and his girlfriend Elektra who are responsible for teaching Peter how to drive.

Matt's previous serious injury resolves the tension between him and Elektra, and they get back together.

Of course, after getting rid of the brainwashing of the Hand, Elektra realizes she acted impulsively. Peter wanted to protect Matt, and she feels sorry for stabbing Peter back then. So when she hears about Peter's challenging driving experience from Matt, she and Matt take the initiative to help Peter practice driving.

It must be said that Elektra is indeed more reliable than the others. Although she is also a ninja, she has quite a bit of patience when it comes to teaching.

On this day, Peter attempts to drive by himself. Elektra and Matt sit in the car, chatting about matters regarding Kingpin.

"One day I will definitely make him pay!" Peter promises, "He uses such despicable methods against you."

"Don't be impulsive. My grudge with Kingpin is complicated. Besides, he is the most famous crime boss in America, and you still can't deal with him at the moment."

"What about that guy called Bullseye? I remember he's still in Hell's Kitchen, right? I'll go beat him up tonight." Peter says angrily.

Elektra says, "The situation isn't good right now. After Kingpin knows the Dragon Bones, he doesn't immediately target the Hand. They seem to have reached some kind of agreement. What the worst is that Kingpin might have hired the Hand."

"That doesn't make sense. the Hand cares so much about the Dragon Bones. If they knew Kingpin also wants them, so in the end, they would betray him. Doesn't Kingpin know this?"

"That's the worst part. Even though Kingpin knows the Hand won't truly cooperate with him, let alone hand over the Dragon Bones, he still hires them. It means there must be something we don't know, something that makes Kingpin willing to take the risk of the Hand turning against him."

"Does he have any big businesses recently?"

Elektra's face turns serious. "If I have to bring it up, you probably already know, his drug business."

"You mean the plan he abandoned before?"

"What are you talking about?" Peter controls the wheel and can't understand the riddles Matt and Elektra are speaking. At this point in time, Spider-Man hasn't encountered Kingpin yet. The one primarily fighting against Kingpin is Daredevil, Matt.

"Kingpin's drug business on the East Coast has reached a bottleneck. He has already seized the majority of the market, but he is not satisfied."

"I previously received some information. Kingpin will aim at younger students, using the manpower he has recruited from various universities and high schools to sell more addictive drugs to them. In this way, someday, he will break his historical sales record."

Peter fiercely pounds the steering wheel, mutters under his breath, and then says, "Since the day I wanted to be a hero, there have been people constantly refreshing my limits of cognition. Why do they have no trace of humanity?"

"You will encounter more of these monsters in the future," Matt says.

The calmness in his tone gives Peter a sense of power.

The car turns onto a street from the main road. It is getting late. Peter wants to drive Matt's car back first and continue practicing the next day.

But just as they make the turn, a strong light flashes at them. Peter instinctively shields his eyes. Then his Spider-Sense tingles, and he immediately opens the car door and jumps out.

With a loud "bang," several darts pierce through the windshield, striking the driver's seat and passenger seat.

Peter looks up, and a few figures leap down from nearby tall buildings. Accompanied by a puff of black smoke, they quickly approach the car.

After some training, Peter isn't the naive rookie anymore. He first rolls on the ground, dodging a row of darts. Then he jumps with force, knocking a ninja that has landed on the roof of the car.

His strength is formidable. The ninja dissolves into a cloud of smoke and disappears instantly.

Next, another ninja opens the car door, but there is no one inside. With a flash of a cold blade, Elektra appears at the side of the car. She takes down one first, and with a backward swing, several darts frighten away another.

Matt is also not in the car. His senses are far beyond that of an ordinary person. Before the darts have reached their trajectory, he has already heard the sound. He takes down a ninja at the back of the car and walks over, carrying his cane. "These guys are really annoying. Last time, we only took down one, and this time, they all escaped."

Peter shakes his slightly numb wrist and says, "What's going on? Have they been attacking you guys lately?"

"Elektra and I moved, because our previous house was constantly being disturbed by these pests."

"I'm sorry. I've been busy lately, so I haven't been to your place. If I knew you were in trouble, I should have come."

"It's better if you don't come. These people can't be dealt with only by strength alone. Even Elektra and I need to set traps if we want to take down one. In this kind of encounters, they always disappear."

"You guys can't handle the ninja's stealth technique. It needs a special method to counter," Elektra says as she holds her knife, then she gets back into the car.

"Do we still drives? What if they come again?"

"Didn't you realize? They aren't here to kill us, just to irritate us."

Peter also gets back into the car, and this time, Elektra drives. Peter asks, "But what's the point of them doing this? They can't hurt you guys..."

"We might not be afraid of them, but my neighbors might be. They know, to protect others, I have to frequently move, which greatly hinders my efforts to strike at their operations."

Elektra continues what Matt says, "This is the old trick the Hand always uses. Whoever opposes them, they send these immortal ninjas to harass them continuously until they completely leave the area."

"These ninjas don't have high attack power, they rarely kill, and they are elusive, leaving no evidence. As a result, the authorities in that area hardly have any reason to take action against them."

"That's exactly where Kingpin is cunning. He uses these Hand ninjas to disturb me so that I have no time to interfere with his industrial upgrades temporarily. He knows, even if they make a deadly move, they won't be able to kill me for a while, only to invite more intense retaliation. But this kind of annoying distraction, like flies, can greatly slow down my progress."

As Elektra turns the steering wheel, she continues, "Perhaps, this is also one of the reasons why he chose to cooperate with the Hand. Your previous actions cause him great losses. Even though the Bullseye is almost successful, you appear again shortly after and quickly shut down several of his underground gambling houses."

"He already knows that sending hired assassins to kill you always ends in failure, so continuously harassing you is a better option."

Matt sighs, feeling somewhat helpless with the current situation.

These ninjas are very annoying. They can lower their heart rate, making it difficult for Matt to detect their exact location. They frequently come to his home, either throwing darts or setting fire, causing a lot of trouble. The landlord doesn't care what happened to Matt; they would only evict him.

As a lawyer, Matt originally has a decent apartment in Manhattan. The small house in Hell's Kitchen is just a fortified point. However, those ninjas always come to cause trouble, forcing him to move again and again, which really drains a lot of his energy.

Daredevil only has 24 hours a day. He used to sacrifice sleep time to fight crime, but now, during the day, he has to write complaints, participate in court, and at night, he has to move and put his things in order. Only a short time in the late night can he go out and patrol. His efficiency has dropped significantly, and he is somewhat exhausted.

Kingpin has grasped Daredevil's weakness well - Matt is still a social person. Once encountering such troubles, in order to maintain his social identity, he inevitably spends a lot of time.

Elektra herself has a bunch of troubles as well. The Hand has no mercy to traitors, and she hasn't returned to report for a long time, causing Kingpin to grow suspicious. The Bullseye keeps looking for opportunities to kill her and regain his position.

Peter proposes, "Although I can't help you deal with these ninjas, at least I can go trouble the one with that Bullseye."

"You better be careful," Elektra reminds him. "Bullseye is not an ordinary person either. He is a master of acrobatics, and his physical skills are strong, full with cunning tricks."

"That's perfect .I haven't dealt with any opponents yet."

"Did that millionaire Stark make you a suit? To deal with Bullseye, it's best if you wear it all the time. He is very good at using hidden weapons. But if his hidden weapons can't penetrate your suit, then he will be much easier to deal with."

"The suit is still being tested. I received a call from Mr. Stark yesterday, asking me to visit the tower. It should be completed within a few days."

As they speak, the car arrives on a street near Matt's residence, and they get out of the car. Matt says, "You better take it serious. If you take action against Bullseye, you will inevitably be in Kingpin's sight."

"The fight with Kingpin is truly a life and death struggle, not something you can compare with just beating up some robbers or thieves in Hell's Kitchen."

"He will use any imaginable or unimaginable brutal means to kill you. He may become the nightmare of your life. Wherever you go, you have to be on guard against his assassinations, just like me."

Peter stands on the other side of the car, staring at Matt. The streetlights on the street are off, and only the faint reflection of the lights in the residential building can be seen on the car window glass.

Peter questions him, "Do you regret it? When you lie on the operating room bed, do you regret getting involved in all of this?"

"If I don't get involved in all of this, I should be in a fancy apartment in downtown right now, preparing for a case that will be heard in court the next day. Perhaps, I would be thinking about when to discuss engagement with my girlfriend. Maybe I would even think about whether or not to get a dog..."

"But now you're like a homeless rat crossing the street. Not to mention having a dog, even if you have a fish, its corpse will appear at your bedroom door the next day."

"I didn't think through when I chose to get involved in all of this. What do you think? I think about it for a year before taking action?"

"In fact, with a heart full of hatred and hot blood, I dived into this bottomless abyss." Matt utters.

"Although I truly hope you become a superhero because with your abilities, you can save many people, that's also why I'm willing to teach you."

"But I'm not trying to cheat you. I must remind you, going against Kingpin means there's no turning back."

"You have to be both just and powerful. If you lack one, then there is only a dead end."
