Chapter 3 - 2.Early life and suprise

In the city of Melen, about 3km from Orario, you can hear a woman scream, "Aston, you'll be lucky if I don't kill you for this! You are never touching me again!". A man says, "Honey, just stay calm and push, and then it will all be over. Now come on, Melinda, and push." "AHHH!!" *baby crying* "Congratulations, it's a boy." The healer says as she passes the boy, His father. "What are those markings on him?" Aston asks. "I'm not sure, but he seems to be a healthy boy." The healer reassures her as she finishes up with Melinda. "Let me hold my baby! said Melinda as the healer left the room. "OH! He is so precious; he has your eyes and my hair, and these kind of look like tattoos. I wonder if it's because of a skill."

"What should we name him? she asks. "Regulus, Regulus Deodatus shall be his name," he responded. "What a wonderful name, my little prince, she said.

(5 years later)

M.C pov:

In a large stone house on the outskirts of Melen, we can see a beautiful young boy slowly sitting up in bed as the sunlight pours through the window. "Ugh, where am I?" *grunt* "My head is killing me." The boy says this as he grips his head and arches forward. "I really reincarnated, so I am Regulus Deodatus, the son of Aston and Melinda Deodatus." 'Hmmm, I can feel my connection to GoB and my angels, but there is something else there; I'm not sure it might be a hereditary thing.'

"Reg, wake up, and come down for breakfast." "Okay, mom, I'm already up." I reply as I get out of bed and move to get dressed, 'Wait, let's try out clothes from Gob' I focus, then a small golden portal appears, I can feel it slowly draining a power in my body,'so'this is mana, I don't have much yet' and pull out a set of comfortable clothes, a red shirt and black shorts, noticing an increase in mana usage when removing something, then close the portal with about half my mana gone, 'dam, that's going to take some training'.

While eating breakfast with his family, 'the 5 years of memories and feelings make the feelings natural' I ask, "Mom, dad, I would like to start training because I want to be an adventurer when I grow up." 'Up until now, I had only learned reading, writing, and basic math.'

My dad smiles and says, "You know I'm a level 3 and your mother became a level 5 before we retired, so I'm sure we can work out something." Mom then says, "Honey, are you sure? Being on an adventure is dangerous." "Yes, and if I don't want to later on, having training is better than not having training," I say. "Okay, son, we will talk about it later after dinner to give your mother and me some to discuss. Now go wash up and you can play outside." "Bye dad. Bye mom. See you later!" I shouted back as I ran to the bathroom to clean up.

(outside after a bath)

So I am sitting here under a tree in the backyard, thinking about the future. 'I can't summon my angels until I get a falna. I can use basic stuff from Gob for now; I've got about 11 years to get as well trained as possible and maybe kill some surface monsters for early stats and to get used to blood.'

I take out a book on martial arts, a book on Scáthach's spearmenship, and a book on dual-wielding short swords. 'With Ikaros being a bow user in the back and Astraea using a sword and shield in the front, I'll have Oregano healing using a staff in the back. Then I can use dual wielding for close range, spears for close-mid range, and magic for mid-long range.'Speed reading through the manuals, I can't help but exclaim,The best part of being in the void is definitely the super memory!"

Later in the evening, as I went inside to eat, both of my parents were sitting at the table, my dad looking excited and my mom looking a little serious. "Regulus, starting tomorrow, you will be doing small exercises and katas with me," my dad said. I was so excited (to this day, I blame my 5-year-old brain) that I jumped and shouted, "Yippee!" Then, all of a sudden, something else from earlier burst forth, and my hands were covered in a dark purple-blue flame that seemed to feed on the light in the room. "Woah! What's that?" I asked, looking at my hands. All of a sudden, my mother goes wide-eyed, jumps from her chair, and vanishes to her room while my dad stares gobsmacked.

Melinda pov:

'This morning Regulus asked to be trained to become an adventurer. I really wanted to just flat out deny him because of how dangerous it could be, but the look in his eyes said his mind was currently made, and that was the end of it. I remember the first time I saw that look on his face. We were walking around the market while I was carrying him, and all of a sudden he started to glare at all of the children walking around. When we got home that afternoon, he continued to glare while trying to walk. Failure after failure, he kept going at it until he took his first few steps, and the glare finally went away. Every time I have seen that look, he always accomplishes what he sets out to do.'

Just after Regulus left to play outside, "Honey, I know you didn't want him to be an adventurer, but just look at him; he has that drive that will take him far." Aston said, and I had to agree with him but couldn't help but retort, "That same drive gets countless killed." Then he continued,And that is why we will train him so he can survive whatever comes his way and how to be careful while doing it."

Ugh, he was right, and I knew it. My little boy is going to become an adventurer, but that didn't mean I was going to make it easy for him." When he wants to join a family, he will have to pass my tests; otherwise, he can just stay home until he either gives up or passes." I stared with a stern look at my husband, who sheepishly scratched the back of his head and said, "Okay, you're the boss, honey. We can do it your way. I'm just glad my boy will be able to protect himself, even if he wants to be a merchant or something."

Later that night, after setting the table, Regulus runs in and comes full stop, seeing us stare at him, then smiles wryly, then sits down. Aston says, "Regulus, starting tomorrow, you will be doing small exercises and kata with me." His face takes on this pure smile, his eyes lighting up, and then he jumps up, raising his fists into the air. "Yippie!" And his hands caught fire with a dark purple-blue flame. Seeing that flame, I froze, remembering something from that book my father gave me. I immediately stood up and went to find it, zoning out of whatever else was going on.
