Chapter 7 - Peak of Annoyingness

While waiting for Tong Yue to arrive, Jiang Lingxi picked up the remote control from the coffee table and turned on the TV.

In the past, after breakfast, she would read a few pages of a book or practice calligraphy. However, when she returned yesterday, she had searched the entire not-so-large house and couldn't find anything, let alone a study. She couldn't even find a single book or pen!

As Jiang Lingxi focused intently on the TV screen, where a news anchor was reporting on the official opening of a cross-river bridge, Lu Zhenzhen, who had just come out of the kitchen, was momentarily baffled.

"Lingxi... Jiang Lingxi?"

Jiang Lingxi kept her eyes on the TV screen and raised her hand to pat the seat beside her. "Come, have a seat."

Lu Zhenzhen walked over quietly and sat down, watching the news for a few seconds. Unable to contain her curiosity, she finally asked, "Why are you watching the morning news?"

She's watching it so seriously! Before, Lu Zhenzhen couldn't have imagined this happening!

Jiang Lingxi nodded, showing approval. "Know the world without leaving the house; the news is quite good!"

Lu Zhenzhen nodded along, still in a state of bewilderment.

By the time Tong Yue arrived, the TV was broadcasting news about a giant panda giving birth.

Jiang Lingxi gazed at the chubby and seemingly silly yet cute figure on the screen. "Such an adorable creature. It would be nice to have one at home for occasional relaxation and fun."

This remark left another person in the room baffled.

As Tong Yue, who was drinking water with a serious expression on the single sofa beside her, was about to intervene and stop her artist's audacious thoughts, she saw Jiang Lingxi apparently contemplating for a moment before shaking her head regretfully. "Forget it. I probably can't afford to hire someone to feed it regularly, and I don't have such a large space for it to play."

Tong Yue: "..."

Are you seriously considering keeping a giant panda?!

Unable to help but suspect, Tong Yue wondered if the fall from a few days ago had knocked her brain out of place.

Otherwise, she wouldn't dare to think of keeping a giant panda! Once the morning news ended, Jiang Lingxi reluctantly turned off the TV and looked at her manager, who was sitting on the nearby single sofa drinking water with a wooden face.

"When are we leaving?"

"Huh?" Tong Yue paused mid-sip, stunned for two seconds before realizing what her artist had just asked.

On her way here, Tong Yue had already rehearsed a belly full of words, the ultimate goal being to successfully coax Jiang Lingxi back to the show.

However, she didn't get to use a single one.

"You, are you mentally prepared?"

Jiang Lingxi nodded at her. "I have no issues."

The problematic person was no longer problematic.

Setting her glass down on the coffee table, Tong Yue waved her hand at Lu Zhenzhen, who was waiting on standby.

Lu Zhenzhen immediately understood and got up to start packing the luggage in the closet.

Although Lu Zhenzhen, the assistant, would have sufficed, Tong Yue had her doubts and wanted to accompany Jiang Lingxi on this trip.

If Jiang Lingxi were to refuse and lose her temper when faced with a situation requiring an apology, Tong Yue, as her manager, would take responsibility.

At the underground parking lot of the airport, before alighting, Jiang Lingxi accepted the mask and cap Lu Zhenzhen handed over, and she was then allowed to exit the car.

To put it in Tong Yue's words: she was afraid that the airport's paparazzi would see Jiang Lingxi's face and throw rotten eggs.

Jiang Lingxi: "..."

With such a face, hated by so many people, her original disdainful expertise was truly at its peak.

"We'll probably spend most of today on the road. After getting off the plane, we'll have to take another train ride to the venue, where the show's team will pick us up." As a precaution, Tong Yue planned to accompany Jiang Lingxi on this trip.

Before, it would have sufficed to have Lu Zhenzhen, the assistant, accompany them, but Tong Yue thought about it and felt somewhat uneasy.

If Jiang Lingxi were to refuse to apologize and lose her temper, Tong Yue, as her manager, would have to step in.

Later, as they wheeled their suitcases and walked, the sound of footsteps was almost drowned out by the rolling luggage.

The four people almost simultaneously turned their heads to the entrance.

Once they made out the figure standing there at the moment, they all instinctively stood up.

"She's here!"

The other three: "..."

Didn't we agree not to say a word to her? Did you just get swayed?

Also, why did they stand up to greet her? Does Jiang Lingxi deserve it?
