As they were having their breakfast Eveyln asked with a worried expression ,"So how are we going to deal with the upcoming war." Andrew interjected ,"Just send a messenger to Mordant to tell the king to go into submission and if he doesn't, then we'll see what happens." Everyone looking at Andrew with a bewildered look ,"What?!" Eveyln pointing the obvious ,"I hope you do know that it's not going to work." Andrew asked ,"When will it begin?" Eva with a concerned face ,"About the day after tomorrow is when they will make their move." Andrew with a carefree expression ,"Then send the messenger." Eva following his orders sent the messenger though she knew that he would face his demise there. "How is everything going with the kingdom?" He asked trying to lean on his chair. "The nobles are doing their well rather well. And the economy is slowly getting better but it's still nowhere from good." Andrew standing up and switching to another seat ,"After this, it should be more than okay." He had already sent his shadow to slowly take over the black market and with it started to gain a lot of wealth which he mostly redirected to Eva.
The shadow was slowly turning the tide as the opposition was quickly dealt with. Those who partook in the black market knew about it though none knew the shadow's owner. "The messenger has already been sent along with the artifact you told me to give him." Eva said respectfully looking at Andrew who was switching seats. "Are you busy?" Andrew asked Eva and Eveyln who were finished with their meals. "No,not really." They responded simultaneously before he stood up and gestured ,"Then this should be a fruitful day for the both of you." Along with their mother, they followed him till they came to the garden present which was open for training. "I want to see how good you are using those swords." He performed some stretches but Eveyln asked ,"What's the point of us trying if you kill us even before we think." Andrew with a small smile then brandishing a sword similar to theirs ,"Because I wanna see how good you are and I won't use any of my abilities during this fight." Understanding what he meant, the both of them came to him with agility and swiftness but with a single move, they were easily taken down. "How are you so good using a sword? I thought you wouldn't be using your abilities." Eveyln asked but Andrew said in a playful manner ,"I'm not. It's just that you suck." They gave it another shot fighting him simultaneously but defeat was imminent thus they opted to withstand his moves for as long as possible.
They would take turns challenging him as they easily got tired due to his unpredictable tactics. They continued training with Andrew pointing out their flaws here and there till they corrected it. After having their lunch, they gave it another shot and lasted much longer than before for about twenty minutes until they were overpowered. He said looking down on them ,"You sure are fast learners. You may have addressed most of your problems but I can't teach you any techniques till you completely perfect your base." He gave a small laugh and continued ,"That's gonna have to do it for today." Sure he was fine but the two were exhausted completely. Judging by his face during their spars, they both knew that he wasn't taking the fight seriously unlike them. Eveyln wanted to tour the kingdom in which they all agreed. They saw how the kingdom was slowly developing as the there was no resistance unlike before with Andrew interacting well with the citizens though Eva had a problem due to her detached personality. After they were done, they went back to the castle where the messenger was waiting for them. He made a slight bow ,"My king and queen, the proposition of submittion was delivered successfully though they ignored it and threatened to to kill me. But thanks to you, I managed to emerge unscathed this I am eternally grateful." He made another bow before making his leave.
"Why would you do that?" Eva asked Andrew who was slowly hugging her from the back facing away from the throne but the throne room was empty so no one caught sight of this. It didn't make sense to her why the party which had the upper hand in the situation submit to the the party which was at a disadvantage. "Because I they will resign eventually." Andrew remarked giving her a small kiss on her charming face. She blushed slightly from this and commented ,"We will have to start preparing tomorrow for the fight. The soldiers are prepared and we will leave at dawn." Andrew as if not paying attention ,"Have them on standby for invasion. The fight will be short lived anyway." Eva startled by this ,"What do you mean have them ..." Andrew put his finger over her cute luscious lips shutting her up. "Just do it. Though you can bring the commanders if it makes you feel any better. Knowing how he didn't like opposition ,"Fine, we'll do it your way, my beloved." Andrew thinking about something laughed before giving her a kiss and leaving. This time she slept in her room as Andrew didn't bother finding her knowing that they would travel for long. They left at dawn with the royal escort though they didn't need it. Tailed with the hundreds of soldiers they went for battle.
The knight commander had a female with crimson red hair and wearing silver armour made of reinforced iron. She had a cold temperament similar to Eva's and wielded a Ytterbium sword which was intricately designed and similar to the other knights, she had an emblem engraved on her chest and sword in the form of two blades crossing each other surrounded by cool looking designs of what appeared to be mana. They went outside of the kingdom and straight to the battle ground and Eva's mother acted as a substitution for her combined with a necklace Andrew gave her for her protection. Eva came to see that the necklace gifted to her could block any attack no matter the rank, prevent any form of mana poisoning by regulation of the flow of mana and regular poisoning. It could also serve as an inventory but she only stored her sword there and the rest were in her other storage rings. They had to go through a forest shrouded in vibrant fauna which could prove trouble some. Halfway there they were ambushed by a couple of A rank assassins but the commander quickly took care of them. 'I thought she would be reluctant given she is human serving a vampire.' Andrew thought before dismissing them. "They were from Mordant. It seems that they were to wear us out and delay for time." The commander spoke as she entered their carriage. "Good work Natalie." Eva said before looking at the road ahead of them. "There are more ahead so we will split up. Natalie, you take some soldiers with you and attack from the side while we go in front the front." Eva ordered and they quickly took their leave.
"Are you sure that was a good idea?" Andrew asked ,"Because that's exactly what they wanted you to do." Eva nodded ,"I know their tactics but I'm sure my soldiers are capable. And I'm confident that I can win." Andrew brushing it off and resuming their journey shortly after. They ran into more assassins who were properly equipped and had laid many deadly traps but Eva and her soldiers quickly took care of them though Andrew did not partake. They continued with this trend till they got out of the forest regrouping with the commander. Two men had perished but Andrew wasn't going to bother himself and they quickly set up camp preparing how they would face the hoards of soldiers. Eva was constantly strategizing with her soldiers but Andrew was outside with a lazy expression carefree of what would erupt in a few hours. Eva coming outside of the outstanding tent put up ,"What strategy do you have in mind,Aldritch?" She asked a person laying on the grass who was half asleep ,"I don't because the battle is not going last long." She was somehow worried of this but seeing how Andrew lay carefree on the grass, she relaxed and decided to leave but Andrew said ,"I'll deal with it. Don't worry." On the horizon opposite to them, they saw thousands of soldiers coming towards them but they didn't approach them, rather they set up camps all over.
Looking at the opposition the king of Mordant spoke in a deep voice ,"Are they mocking me?" Compared to their hundreds of camps set up on the hills, the opposition had one tent and by the looks of it, it appeared to be the king's. He had a rotound shape along with a bearded face with a lofty expression on his face. He was adorned in well lavished garments armed for battle but besides that, he was an SSS ranker. His commander spoke up after making a respectful bow ,"My king, we should attack now for they seem to underestimate us greatly. How dare they sent a submission proposal to us when they clearly are at a disadvantage." He fumed in rage seeing how the enemy mocked them. It was an insult to them and their pride but the king suggested to wait, they would perform a full scale attack at midday. They came up with a strategy to corner them by attacking from three sides as the opposition was vulnerable from all directions. They saw their soldiers off in the distance but they wouldn't make it if they began. In terms of numbers, they had the upper hand compared to Darwarke so he didn't think they would face too many casualties.
Midday finally arrived and they began with their strategy. Eva seeing this frowned ,"Seems that they are trying to corner us. Our soldiers won't be able to make it here in time by the time they close the distance." She looked at Andrew who finally stood up and went through the soldiers who had accompanied them. Natalie ,"Please don't worry for we will..." Andrew raised his hand and said nonchalantly ,"Take note." Looking back at his soldiers then facing his opponents. 'Five spies huh. From different kingdoms I'm assuming.' He noted at the sides briefly and started to crack his knuckles,'Let's give them a little scare.' Natalie looking at Eva ,"My queen, please convince my Lord to withdraw." Eva looked at her with a smile ,"He said he would deal with it singlehandedly and we shouldn't interfere." Natalie at Andrew and wondered ,'Is he planning on taking all of them on his own.' She found this unbelievable considering how many the opposition was and there were some high rankers too. His army from afar thought ,'They certainly are stupid. How could they face such a huge number with so little.' They thought that he was dead given the circumstances but he had something up his sleeve.
He looked at the three hoards of soldiers incoming and Natalie wanted to intervene but she was ordered not to. Seeing that they were close enough, he raised his hands confusing everybody and snapped his fingers. Eva was curious how he would deal with the matter as she would have a problem but just like everyone hadn't expected, the tide started to turn. The hoard at his right suddenly started to kill their own, on his left, an eerie black fog emerged out of nowhere but screams were heard from the soldiers and as for the middle, the ground started to swallow them whole bit there were those who were able to escape by using flying artifacts but they would be shot down. To say the least, it wasn't a war it was a one sided massacre and the opposition were receiving in plenty. The king of Mordant couldn't believe his eyes, his soldiers of thousands were getting butchered left and right and it was done by the hands of one person.
