"Mom?" Garette said, his voice trembling.
Dominique was shocked when she heard Garette address her as his mother. She had thought he would threaten to report her to the police for assault, but the questions of how he knew she was his mother ran through her head. She had no idea how to react to this situation. Although she tried to yank her hands off him, he asked, "You're Dominique Ferrari, right?"
She didn't answer, and Garette continued, "You are my biological mother, right? That's why you've been stalking me."
Dominique finally stopped struggling and asked, "How do you know?"
Garette sighed. "It's a long story."
A deafening silence hung in the air between them as they made their way to her car. Driving towards South Outpost, Dominique's home, Garette sat in the passenger seat, his mind completely blank. He had thought he would have a lot of questions to ask Dominique when he met her, but he didn't.
