Although they didn't look for it, the group received free food for an entire day before having another meeting with Scathatch. During that day, they were able to see the vegetables growing practically one hundred times faster… the world truly had gone nuts.
Or maybe not, considering that the world could be destroyed in less than two years. Stars shine the brightest before their deaths, after all, so that could be the same thing. Regardless, before the breakfast of the next morning, the whole group assembled once again.
Much to Jason's surprise, the group appeared pretty calm and resolute. Despite the gravity of their situation, they exuded a sense of unity and purpose. Some of their faces were noticeably pale, betraying the fear and anxiety they undoubtedly felt, but their eyes told a different story. They had made their choice, fully aware of the risks involved. There was no hesitation, no second-guessing.
