The door was extremely reinforced and designed to keep whatever lay below secure. Jason took a deep breath, preparing himself for what he might find. With cautious movements, he opened the door, revealing a dark staircase leading down into the depths of the fortress. The air was cooler and damp, a stark contrast to the well-lit and warm upper levels.
Jason didn't hesitate in going downward as fast as possible while trying to be cautious not to make any noise. He didn't feel that there were guards there, there wouldn't be any neither for them under these circumstances.
After going down for thirty meters, Jason finally reached the dungeon. He frowned, a sense of caution washing over him as he took in his surroundings. The dungeon was not what he had expected; there were no cages or iron bars, no signs of prisoners, or the typical things of confinement.
