Chapter 17 - Chapter 17 - Next Boss

Once Jason's HP, MP, and SP were completely full, he began to walk toward the boss's chamber with his bow in hand. As soon he put both of his feet on it, the monster got up while emitting a shit ton of blood lust.

While Jason was confident in his victory, the enemy's bloodlust still made the hair of his back stand. That only got worse when the beast charged at Jason with fearsome speed.

The firm steps of the monster made the ground tremble. Instead of speed, it was more appropriate to say that the beast was crossing large distances by using brute strength alone… still, before the monster could collide against Jason, he took two quick steps to the side and avoided the hit. Still, he almost fell on his butt thanks to the burst of wind caused by the sudden movement of the monster.

The creature quickly turned around and learned from its mistakes, trying to kick Jason in the stomach with a sideway kick. Jason jumped backward and avoided the hit again, his eyes following every movement of the monster's body.

"They are compact hits… since the beast is smaller than the other one but still has more power," Jason thought. I thought humans had the best types of bodies since they are pretty efficient, but I guess this changes from species to species…"

The monster tried to kick Jason with the other leg, but this time, Jason jumped and escaped again by a small margin. His plan was working as expected… he could see all of the enemy's moves thanks to his high Perception. However, his body couldn't react all that well because his dexterity was lower when compared to it. He had to get used to the difference since it seemed that both parameters had some synergy.

If that were true, then Power and Endurance had to be on similar levels as well. Jason hadn't faced any creature that could use magic yet, so it was hard to say if the same thing had been applied to them.

Regardless, the beast glared at Jason, but he didn't let that bother him… even though the bloodlust got heavier enough to make him sweat cold.

As if it was planning to use boxing, the monster lowered its stance and then moved both arms toward its chest. Jason raised his guard and did well because the enemy's first punch almost hit his head. He moved his head to the side, and he felt shivers when that large fist as big as his head passed through the spot his head was a moment ago.

The monster retreated its left arm and then tried to hit Jason with another jab, but he jumped backward and avoided the hit. At the same time, Jason summoned a Mana Arrow and quickly aimed at the monster's face. The creature used both arms to block the attack, but in the end, it never came. Before the beast could understand what had happened, the creature felt two sharp stings on its knees, and then it saw two mana arrows disappearing.

"Only twenty-five points of damage per hit… I guess its high spirit, alongside its constitution, is the cause of it," Jason thought.

The monster ignored the wounds and kept charging forward while trying to hit Jason with those jabs. They were quick about it, so he didn't have time to aim, and while he jumped backward to gain some distance, the enemy was quick to close in…

Jason clicked his tongue when he realized that he was almost on the wall. The boss then went for a big swing, one that wouldn't matter if Jason tried to move away from it or not. Either way, Jason had been waiting for that. Even without an arrow, he pointed his bow toward the enemy and shot three Fireballs at the enemy's face.

The monster grunted in annoyance and quickly protected its face with both arms but still charged forward to smash Jason against the wall, but he jumped to the side while avoiding the attack

The monster saw his shadow moving and tried to follow Jason, but that only made it easy for him to fire another pair of arrows on his knees. His precision was astonishing. He hit the same spots once again, making the wounds deeper and more blood fall.

As if it was an angry gorilla, the beast hit the ground with both fists a few times while glaring at Jason. That didn't help it at all. Jason didn't even feel perplexed. He wasn't expecting much reasoning from monsters, after all.

The boss charged at Jason again while keeping one arm raised to block the arrows or other attacks on the face of the beast had to… Jason felt like sighing. He summoned an arrow and nocked. The monster protected its face again with one arm and its right knee with the other. The boss was planning to protect its dominant leg, but that didn't matter.

The attack never came, and the boss just hit the air… the monster looked around for Jason but found nothing until the beast was hit on the back of its head numerous times with Fireballs. The damage there began to melt the flesh of the creature and the beast trembled all over when one arrow pierced the burned skin and almost caused critical damage.
