Chapter 5 - The Demon Lord of Wrath

Izayu realized the spy was none other than her assistant. As the previous Dragon Lord, she had believed all her comrades and allies had abandoned her after she was sealed. But now, she understood that was not the case. This last comrade of hers, Chizume Finataly, was also one of her previous comrades. Chizume had been her second in command and remained loyal to her. Chizume was, in fact, her younger sister.

"How dare you manipulate Master," Chizume said, glaring at Itsuka.

"He's not, Chizume. You need to understand that—" Izayu began.

"I don't need to hear what you have to say, Master. I know in my heart that you are being manipulated, because I know you would never serve someone," Chizume interrupted.

"Hmm, and why do you say that?" Itsuka asked, his interest piqued.

"Tsk. Anyway, Yagami, don't get in Master Itori and Kairo's way," Chizume retorted before retreating.

As Izayu was about to follow her, Itsuka stopped her. "So what is your relationship with this dragon, Chizume?"

"It doesn't matter anymore. She's an old comrade of mine, but if you really want to know, she's my sister. She was also my second in command when I was the Dragon Lord," Izayu replied, her voice steady.

"Are you sad about this? Now that you realize you hurt your own sister for your master's sake?" Itsuka probed.

"No, I'm not. For truth to be told, I don't regret a single thing, because I already swore to serve you with all my heart, until the moment I die or you die," Izayu said with unwavering conviction.

"I see. Anyway, I'm going to make things right for you," Itsuka declared.

"Master, please, you don't have to. I'll do everything for your sake, but please don't do anything for mine," Izayu pleaded.

"Don't try to hold me back. This is an order. I do what I want, and I'm not doing this for your sake, but for mine," Itsuka said firmly.

"Yes, Master. Sorry for my disobedience. May I take my leave now?" Izayu asked, her voice softening.

"Sure," Itsuka replied.

Itsuka Yagami watched as Izayu walked away silently with an expressionless face. As Itsuka looked up at the moon, he smirked.

Meanwhile, back at the middle town The Demon Lord of Wrath appeared in thin air in the middle of the capital, destroying everything in its path. As the demon lord laughed maniacally, the first princess, Mitsuri Mine, appeared and struck the demon lord, catching it off guard.

The battle between the demon lord and the first princess raged in the sky. Mitsuri managed to strike the demon lord in its left eye, causing it to go berserk. The demon lord's aura threw the princess to the ground. Beaten and bruised, she tried to stand, but the demon lord landed and walked menacingly toward her, sword in hand. As she struggled to rise, the demon lord stepped on her head, forcing her down. Just as it pointed its sword at her eye, it was struck from behind by ten adventurer mages.

Enraged, the demon lord turned to charge at the mages, but a student suddenly kicked its head, sending it crashing to the ground. The attacker was Minato Hatiri, the student council president. The demon lord teleported behind Minato, who blocked the attack, and their fierce battle turned the middle of the town into a battlefield. Citizens fled as the two fought. The princess stood up and joined the fray, making it a two-on-one battle. Despite its berserk mode, the demon lord struggled to defeat them both.

Unbeknownst to the demon lord, its feet were chained by Ashira Dracura, the school's student council vice president, and the second prince, Mizail Mine. Now on the defensive, the demon lord was beaten relentlessly by Minato and the princess. In desperation, the demon lord transformed into a giant eye and created a barrier around itself, entering a recharging mode. The princess called for more officials to join the fight and ordered all citizens to retreat to the school, which was protected by adventurers, students, and police.

The high officials now on the battlefield included the first princess Mitsuri Mine, the second prince Mizail Mine, the Golden Knight of Flare Country Zaro Manitiri, and the first through seventh in command under the princess, along with other commanders and members of the royal family. When the barrier around the demon lord of wrath finally opened, Mitsuri screamed, "ATTACK!"

As all the officials launched their assault, the demon lord entered full rage mode. Mizail blessed their forces, and the demon lord was attacked from all sides, taking hits everywhere. In a desperate move, the demon lord called for backup. Despite its efforts, the demon lord was eventually defeated and fell to the ground, reverting to its human form. Just as they thought they were safe, the Demon King revealed himself. No attacks could reach him within a ten-foot radius. The Demon King took the demon lord and spoke.

"STOP!" he commanded.

The attackers hesitated until the princess herself ordered them to cease.

"Why did you attack us?" Mitsuri demanded.

"I did not," the Demon King replied. "This demon lord was not supposed to appear here. It acted alone unless..."

"Unless what?" Mitsuri pressed.

"Unless it was under the command of EldritchXSeraphim," the Demon King explained.

"You mean the leader of the X Gods?" Mitsuri asked.

"Yes, my comrade was controlled, and there was nothing I could do," the Demon King said.

"But why attack this place?" Mitsuri questioned.

"My comrade was ordered to slay the rest of the Xes, even if it meant destroying the whole earth. But he failed and died under your command," the Demon King explained.

"That means it's none of our fault," Marata Mokatsiru interjected one of the seventh commanders.

"Yeah, Demon King, it's none of our fault," Zaro Manitiri added who is also one of the seventh commanders.

"How disrespectful," the Demon King remarked.

"Shut up, all of you!" Mitsuri commanded.

"Sister, why are we not attacking him?" Mizail mine asked. "Let's kill this Demon King. Why are we hesitating?"

"DIDN'T I TELL YOU TO SHUT YOUR MOUTHS!?" Mitsuri screamed.

They all apologized and fell silent.

"Now, where were we?" Mitsuri asked.

The Demon King continued, "Why don't we team up and defeat EldritchXSeraphim together?"

"Sister, there's no way we can accept this. He might betray us," Mizail protested.

"Didn't I tell you to be silent!?" Mitsuri snapped.

"But sister—" Mizail began.

"Shut up, or I'll behead you!" Mitsuri shouted.

Turning her attention back to the Demon King, she saw him smiling patiently. "Is there any way we can deny this agreement?" she asked.

"It depends on what I decide after you deny," the Demon King replied, still smiling.

Mitsuri Mine and the Demon King, named Lucifer, also known as the Demon Lord of Pride, faced each other. The people were hesitant to ally with him because he had been banished from the heavens by the Supreme Deity, the Creator of All Existence, the Alpha and Omega, the God of Reality, the one above EldritchXSeraphim.

After returning to the palace a few hours later, the first princess, Mitsuri Mine, sat on her couch, staring at the ceiling. Beside her sat Mizail, while Patricia Mine sat nearby, sipping tea. Mizail broke the silence. "Why did you agree to ally with the Demon King?" he asked.

Mitsuri looked at him and replied, "And why shouldn't we?"

"Because he's the Demon King," Mizail said. "Did you forget how many people he's killed and how many countries and literal continents he's destroyed?"

"That's the point," Mitsuri responded.

"No, that's beside the point," Mizail insisted. "If he, the Demon King, can literally destroy an entire continent, why would he team up with us unless he has something on his mind and plans to use us as tools?"

Mitsuri's eyes flashed with frustration. "No, that IS the point. If he, the Demon King, could destroy us, then why would he even team up with us? The point is that not agreeing with him might be the end of us. But maybe, just maybe, agreeing with him might give us a little more time!"

Patricia chuckled softly. "Pathetic. You both can't even agree in such a simple situation," she said, smiling and sipping her tea.

"You talk big, even though you're doing nothing!" Mitsuri snapped.

"Whatever you say," Patricia replied nonchalantly.

"Patricia, please stay out of this. Don't get yourself involved in our situation," Mizail said, his voice calm but firm.

Patricia sighed and left the room, leaving Mizail and Mitsuri in silence.

"I'm sorry for misunderstanding your efforts, dear sister," Mizail said, his voice filled with regret.

Mitsuri looked at him and nodded. "I forgive you," she replied, her tone softening. "And I apologize for my harsh words. You weren't wrong to be concerned."

The siblings embraced, finding solace in each other's forgiveness. After a moment, Mizail pulled away and left the room, leaving Mitsuri alone with her thoughts. She stared at the ceiling once more, contemplating their next move and how they could possibly stop the Demon King.
