After leaving the restroom and Emery's office, Anastasia gulped down the chilled can of Coca-Cola drink that Emery offered her, savoring the sweet taste to erase the awful moment from her head and calm her vengeful soul as she read Zane and Jane's wedding announcement article that was published by his grandmother.
"I won't let this marriage happen," Anastasia repeated with determination, scrolling through the sweet compliments of the people's comments under the wedding article.
Just as Anastasia was thinking about something else, her phone buzzed with a text from Valentino. He had sent her 88 messages and made 50 calls just the day before, causing Anastasia to narrow her eyebrows and roll her eyes.
"I hope I'll find out today why Valentino and Erica are so persistent about me marrying that scum," Anastasia muttered.
"I guess this marriage holds something big for both of them," Emery said.
