In a few minutes, Anastasia had finished her shower and returned to the supper table with Mr. Beverley after a long business talk with the clients.
There was a brief silence at the table as everyone was eating their meal before Mr. Beverley broke the silence.
"Are you not eating, Erica?" Mr. Beverley asked, noticing Erica had been playing with her spoon in her meal.
"Uncle, I'm not feeling well and have lost my appetite," Erica replied, feigning a sick look.
"Have you taken any medicine?" Mr. Beverley inquired, meeting her gaze.
Erica nodded once, shifting her gaze to her uncle's wife. "Yes, Auntie gave me some medicine and I'm feeling a little better."
Mr. Beverley sighed, relieved that Erica was feeling better, but he had something troubling to tell her that he knew would upset her.
