I found myself onboard 'The Invincible', the flagship of the 1st Attack Fleet, and the ship Trench commanded from.
Beside me stood Trench and Yoda, we were overlooking the map of Geonosis.
"Tsk tsk, I suggest we send the entire fleet towards Geonosis, and once the Acclamators drop of their troops we send the 2 Imperator's and the Munificent's to Tatooine, and if Seperatist Reinforcements arrive we can jump back to Geonosis and surprise them tsk tsk tsk." Trench said, it was precisely his type of battle. Making the enemy get complacent and then spring a trap.
"Sounds like a good plan, the Seperatist Reinforcements would be hurried to save their entire high command, they are likely to charge immediately after arriving." I spoke.
"Hmm, the naval battle. Up to you, it is." Yoda said, not wanting to interfere.
"Alright, sounds good. I'll command the Acclamators and ground support, you'll command the naval forces in space, Trench." I told him and he nodded.
"Now Yoda, we'll need to discuss the battle, any ideas?" Yoda asked, meanwhile General Tyr came through the doors and into the main ship.
"This is General Tyr, my best General." I told Yoda and Yoda looked at Tyr for a few seconds before responding.
"Send a rescue team, to the Jedi. We must. Start with that, we should. Take them by surprise." Yoda said and I nodded, that's what they did in the original.
"I agree, we'll need to get the Jedi out of there. However, I suggest we take the siege slowly." General Tyr said and I nodded.
"We can't get to the Seperatist Core Members either way if we take it fast, they'll just escape in their ships. Instead we should not waste life." I agreed.
"Tsk tsk tsk, we can create bunkers, surround the Seperatist Camp, and then perform tsk tsk bombing runs, the 400 BTL-B Y-Wing Starfighters bombers the Clones are manning and the 1060 H6 Bombers we have." Trench said and I nodded. Half of those bombers came from my Lucrehulks while the Clone Bombers were travelling individually with their hyperdrives.
We also had 1 712 Alpha V-Wing Starfighters, however we also had 1500 V-19 Torrent Starfighters, aboard the 2 Lucrehulks.
We also had 200 000 Veridian Soliders onboard the Lucrehulks and the other ships in the fleet, I wanted Trench to create a path of chaos within the closest Seperatist Alligned planets.
I did not want this war to physically affect my planets, and as such I needed to destroy any Seperatist Holdouts at the start of the war.
Now lastly we also had 380 Z-95 Headhunters connected to the support ships, however those would only be used for support missions or to defend the support ships.
The Z-95 were inferior to the Alpha-V Wings, however they packed more of a punch and were stronger against support ships, however a bomber was always better.
"We have a lot of bombers, tsk tsk tsk, I suggest we use them as our main weapon in this Battle. The Clones must hold out in their Trenche's and the bombers will wreck chaos." Trench said.
"I agree, our fighter superiority is just too much for us to not take advantage of it, we can have the bombers focus on Anti-air cannons and after that we can have the LAAT's fly around with open doors and wreck chaos, we'll also utilise the AT-TE's and AV-7 Artillery Pieces to support to Trenches." Tyr said.
"That would be the best scenario for a Battle, however, we cannot drag out the Battle too long, the Seperatist Leadership have individual fleets a lot larger than our current one, we cannot risk having a drawn out battle. It must end within a week." I said and Trench nodded.
"If the Corporate Alliance alone assembled their fleets they would break through ours." Trench said.
"Hmm, alright. We'll hold the Troops back and focus on Artillery and Bombing runs, so when the 1st droid wave gets within range of the clones, they'll already be reduced." General Tyr said and I nodded.
"Alright, and let's make sure to keep the Clones mixed in with the AT-TE's, they're perfect for close range artillery and machine gunnery." I said, just in time for Grand Marshal Colt to enter.
He was the first to be promoted to Grand Marshal due to his skills in handling the troops, he had personally graduated all of the 200 000 Clones existing.
And with that we briefed him on the strategy.
When that was done with he left to brief the rest of the officers.
After that we dispersed as we waited to reach Geonosis, it would take about 12 hours to reach Geonosis, with only one stop.
I went to sleep after that, Padme had remained on Coruscant and therefore went straight to sleep, deciding to be well-slept for the incoming war.
…
The next day I found myself on my flagship "The Resolute'
It was the strongest of the Valiant's due to having faced the most conflict and therefore had the more experienced crew.
"Alright, send the Acclamators down to the surface, deploy all bombers and perform bomb runs on the known Anti-air cannons." I told one of the communications officers.
"Order the Corsairs to deploy through the atmosphere, we'll perform precise bombardements. Have them deploy their Z-95's to protect them." I told the second communications officer.
"Give Trench the signal and form our fleet into the lines, the frontal Heavy Line will include the 4 Valiant Class Star Destroyers and 25 Carrack-Class Light Frigates, the second line will include the 8 Gladiators and 50 Carrack-Class Light Frigates, the support line will include the 15 CR-90 Corvettes, 20 DP20 and the 2 Lucrehulk-Class Battleships." I told the third communications officer.
With that the fleet began moving, Trench took his 2 Imperator-Class Star Destroyers and the 5 Munificent-Class Star Frigate.
He jumped behind Ghomrassen, the Cronau Radiation detectors signalled me that the jump was completed.
And with that we began waiting.
Instead of staying at the bridge I walked back to the HoloTable.
Around it stood 2 of my officers.
A Commander Gilad Pellaeon, he was pretty young right now.
Barely 19 years old, however he was already showing extraordinary talents in assisting the captains of ships.
He had utter loyalty towards Thyferra and House Veridian, as was expected.
But what made Pellaeon unique was the fact that he knew where everything was, no matter the task you assigned him, he knew the most efficient way to deal with it.
Pellaeon was simply an extraordinary worker on a ship, he knew it's out and ins before he even landed on the ship.
He knew where every control centre, station and man were.
As I entered I saw the Hologram, it showed our fleet formation, which as the last ship got into it's position was complete.
"Switch the Hologram to the ground assault." I told the Lieutenant Commander beside Pellaeon.
Once it was changed I looked at the view, it showed 12 red miniature ships slowly descending towards the surface.
15 LAAT's and 30 V-19 Torrent's were speeding towards the Geonosians Arena.
"Pull 3 of the Cumulus Class Corsairs towards the Arena, once the Jedi are out open fire. Have each of them look towards the middle but make sure they stay in the outskirts of the arena." I told the Lieutenant Commander.
But before he ran off I said something again.
"Pull a Gladiator-Class into orbit above the arena, once the Jedi pull out launch 3 strikes into the middle, make sure the Cumulus are not hit, we'll show them our chosen Gladiator." I said and with that the Lieutenant Commander ran out and informed a communications officer.
"My Lord, what about the core ships?" Pellaeon asked and I smiled.
"You know, I wonder what kind of technology they have on those balls." I said with a smile and Pellaeon understood.
"I'll prepare the boarding parties." Pellaeon said before running off and I smiled, what a smart kid.
"Have the ion cannons prepped and tell the Lucrehulks to prepare for more cargo." I shouted to no one specific but I got a.
"Yes, sir!" In response.
And with that I turned back to the Hologram.
The LAAT's were now landing in the arena, the Cumulus and the Gladiator were getting into position.
Meanwhile 4 of the Acclamators had landed and were unloading tanks, artillery and troops.
"Order the Lucrehulks to deploy our 1000 AV-7 Artillery pieces, following General Tyr's Command for placement." I told another communications officer.
The communications consoles surrounded the Holopod or Hologram.
Meanwhile the main bridge included a U view port.
Then there was a small area on the left and right side, not sort of the U viewport, the one on the right included the sensors and detectors.
The left commanded the ship status.
Meanwhile the U-part had control consoles under the windows, one could stand there. Then in the middle there were 2 crew pits, and between them there was a Command Walkway, where the Commander usually stood.
Inside the left crew pit the left side weapons while on the right was the right side weapon.
These mostly included Turbolasers and strong lasers, point defense turrets were manned in another room.
On both sides of the Holopod behind the main bridge there were 2 Crystal Display screens, usually showing the obstacles and planets surrounding the ships.
The devices under the main bridges windows controlled the energy output and shields.
They could focus energy on weapons or shields or specific weapons or specific shields.
The deflector shields were a mix of two shield types, ray shield, and particle shields.
Ray shields were used to repell and absorb energy based energy, such as turbolasers or lasers.
Ray Shields did not have the capability to stop physical objects but they could run electricity through them.
Meanwhile Particle shields were designed to protect against physical attacks, creating a invisible shield surrounding the cruiser or planet.
Such as if one were to defend against high velocity objects and torpedoes.
The basic combat standard was to heavily focus on the Ray Shield as it protected against laser and turbolasers, which were usually the main destructive entirety in ship to ship combat.
However against torpedoes or small meteors the particle shields would have to be relied on.
However, although particle shields worked well against small meteors they could not fully defend against large meteors and they would need to be defended with the Hull.
Which is why crashing a ship into another was so effective, but it would be suicidal.
However putting that away I turned to another communications officer.
"Inform the Acclamators that they are to return to the surface upon releasing all their equipment. Order Pellaeon to organise 4 of them into the Heavy Line and 8 of them into the 2nd line." I told him, he nodded and ran off.
And with that majority of my role was now done.
The secondary bridge or Starfighters bridge was working overdrive organise bombing runs and proper escorts. We had launched 500 Alpha V-Wings and 500 V-19 Torrent's, still keeping 1212 Alpha V-Wings and 1000 V-19 Torrents.
Meaning we had 101 Alpha V-Wing Squadrons and 83 V-19 Torrent Squadrons.
Now in all honestly, the Clone Squadrons were stronger, we had a few veteran Squadrons whom could outclass even the strongest Clone Squadrons due to human talent, including Commander Fenn Rau's Squadron.
But the average Clone Squadron far outclassed the average Veridian Squadron, a Veridian Pilot only had 3 years of training, a few only having got 1 year of training, but those had received more or made up for it due to experience.
But the Clones had multiple years of continuous training.
Only veteran from the Battle Of Naboo could compete with them, and we only had a few hundred of those.
But my belief was that by the end of the Clone Wars we would have thousands of veteran pilots, and create the strongest Starfighter Corps to exist.
Or just incorporate the Clones, who knows.
