Alistair's wife, Eleanor, watched the scene unfolding infront of her with a mixture of Admiration and concern.
She was curious about this Keitaro fella for a while now.
Something about him didnt seem normal.
She watched as her son showed so much growth, going from being the weakest in the family to the second strongest after his father in less than a year's time.
It only took about 6 or so months before the boy had reached such an advanced level.
So much progress in so little time.
The way Keitaro guided Edgar, the way he seemed to be so patient with the boy, and the way he seemed to be able to impart his knowledge to the boy calmly was a stark contrast to her husband's domineering nature.
There was no force being used, all she was watching was a teacher, teaching his students the way of jujutsu.
That was what he called it, he did not call it sacred art.
Instead, he called it Jujutsu.
She had always been drawn to strong, capable men, but she had never encountered someone like him before.
His aura was one of quiet confidence, it felt gentle and calm.
She felt as if she was looking at a monk, no she felt as if she was sitting under a tree and the breeze in the air would hit her face, while she could hear the sound of the ocean in the background.
This was what she felt when she looked at him, it felt peaceful, and she wondered why it felt so peaceful.
From her knowledge, the divine arts shouldn't be able to do something like that.
Calling what they were doing the divine arts was a lie, further showing how arrogant they were.
Every time she stared at him and thought of her husband she started to realize that those 2 men were on two different parts of a coin.
Kind of like Ying and Yan.
While Alistair was a tempestuous force, driven by ambition and greed.
He seems more driven by compassion and something else she couldn't quite get her finger on.
Alistair had always been the center of her world, but now, as she watched the sorcerer from abroad interact with her son.
She began to question the foundation of her life. Perharp she had been blinded by duty and Loyalty.
All her life, the only thing she saw was men in power were usually the biggest of jerks, viewing women as nothing more than a trophy or someone to have a kid with.
They only cared for their kid if the kid had shown progress.
She knew that Keitaro could have refused the money, from the paper she had gotten when she had done a background check on him.
She had found out that he had paid for all of his stuff in advance without needing a loan.
If this man wanted money then he would have sold all the things he had found in his travel and become a millionaire yet he didnt.
Eleanor realized that she had been living in a gilded cage all her life, she was a prisoner of her own expectations.
She had always sacrificed her own dreams and aspirations for the sake of her family.
Keitaro spent a little time longer teaching Edgar the proper way to use curse energy.
Edgar was making a lot of progress, he had managed to skillfully use the liquid metal that he was provided.
Keitaro on the other hand was just extremely proud of his student's progress, the boy was growing just like Keitaro had expected.
If he had more time he could mold the boy into a proper special grade, however his time in England was running short and thus he wouldn't be able to do much.
Eleanor who had been observing their training session from the sidelines, approached them, her eyes seemed to be filled with admiration.
"Your guidance has been invaluable to Edgar," she said, her voice sincere. "I am truly grateful."
Once again, Keitaro was surprised that she was nice, that probably was another lesson on how not to judge people like that.
Alistair must have really done a number on him if this was how he reacted.
He must get himself in check...quickly.
Keitaro bowed slightly. "It is my pleasure," he replied modestly. "He is a quick learner."
A thought occurred to Eleanor. "I understand you've developed a unique method of training," she began, her voice filled with curiosity. "The seals and the barrier...they seem extraordinary."
These were all true, those things would be considered priceless no matter where they would be sold, especially to places outside Japan that did not have Tengen to make optimize curse energy for them.
Keitaro shrugged nonchalantly. "It's just something I put together," he replied nonchalantly, it was as if he didnt view what he did as big, he was downplaying his accomplishments. "A tool to aid in training."
To be fair he wasn't lying, this was all a tool to train his student, nothing more really.
Eleanor raised an eyebrow. Was this really how he thought about the whole situation that they were in "A tool that you're willing to give away for free?" she questioned, her voice laced with disbelief.
Was it that easy to get something for free out of him?
Keitaro let out a chuckle. "Consider it a birthday gift," he explained, a playful glint in his eyes. "I won't be around for his actual birthday, so I thought I'd give him a head start."
Edgar's eyes widen, up until now, he had not realized how much Keitaro valued him, giving away such a thing that he knew his father would spend millions if not billions on for free.
He was happy.
Eleanor was taken aback by Keitaro's generosity. "But why would you give away something so valuable?" she asked, her voice filled with genuine curiosity.
Keitaro shrugged again. "Because I can," he replied simply. "Plus he is my student so that was the bare minimum that I could do"
