Chapter 11 - Poisoned to Death by You?

At this moment, the vaporized healing potion, with its multitude of active agents driving billions of tiny stinging hairs, began to penetrate deeply into the skin of the elite goblin.

The elite goblin was in complete disarray.

It felt intense pain all over its body, as if swarmed by countless venomous insects biting continuously.

Soon, even its eyes were afflicted with an unbearable stinging sensation, losing vision in mere seconds.

It began to howl in pain, removing the armor from its body piece by piece. It lay on the ground, rolling frantically, trying to rub off the invisible poison darts with mud, but no matter what it did, it was futile.

Due to its violent struggling, the elite goblin inhaled a significant amount of the vaporized potion, with the mixed-in stingers entering its respiratory tract.

Now, the real torment began. The irritated lungs reacted violently, leading to incessant coughing that didn't stop, and it wouldn't be long before it would die from asphyxiation.

Let it slowly experience the agony... John, holding his katana, walked straight towards the platform.

The Voodoo Goblin Shaman standing on the platform was incredibly shocked, even feeling a hint of fear.

Being a master of poisons itself, it couldn't comprehend what the alchemist had done. Merely vaporizing a bottle of healing potion had left the elite goblin in a state worse than death?! Moreover, despite having applied toxin resistance enhancement, it seemed utterly ineffective.

The elite goblin was a seasoned warrior who had been through countless battles. Even if it was struck by a blade, it would not show any unnecessary reaction.

The events that had unfolded were beyond the Voodoo Goblin Shaman's understanding. Facing John approaching, it regained its composure, knowing showing weakness in front of an enemy was a grave mistake.

The Voodoo Goblin Shaman looked at Jon with a newfound respect, "Impressive, alchemist. You truly surprise me!"

"How about we make a deal? I can let you leave this place and offer you a handsome reward. But you must tell me how to incorporate poison into a healing potion without disrupting its magical structure." The Voodoo Goblin Shaman's eyes were filled with desire, its methods indeed unheard of.

John sneered, "Foolish beast, do you not realize your impending doom? And you think you can negotiate terms with me?"

This creature was a Voodoo Shaman, likely very proficient in using toxins, and probably had high toxin resistance. Mixing in snake venom might not be effective, but a potion mixed with Giant Jaw Spider stinging hairs should do the trick.

John raised his left hand, activating the potion-making skill again.

"Activating Skill: Healing Potion (mixed with Giant Jaw Spider stinging hairs)."

"Impudent human! You shall pay for your arrogance—"

The Voodoo Goblin Shaman, faced with John's silence, was partly angry and wary of the potion in his hands, having seen the fate of the elite goblin. It must prevent the adversary from getting any closer.

The Voodoo Goblin Shaman waved its staff, immediately launching a skill, a ball of dark green viscous magic rapidly coalescing.

[Voodoo Missile]

The magic ball shot towards John at high speed, and just before reaching him, it split into countless smaller missiles, leaving almost no room to evade.

John, unable to dodge in time, raised his katana to block, but was still hit by several missiles.

The remaining missiles scattered on the ground, transforming into pools of green liquid, emitting a sizzling sound while emitting wisps of white smoke. The hard stones on the ground seem to have been corroded.

John's katana and clothes were riddled with corrosion holes.

The Voodoo Goblin Shaman let out a mocking laugh, "Hahaha— Humans are merely flesh and blood! Prepare to be utterly corroded by my sorcery!"

Suddenly, the Voodoo Goblin Shaman's laughter stopped abruptly.

Contrary to its expectations, Jon, hit by the Voodoo Missiles, didn't scream in agony but started removing his upper garments as if nothing had happened.

John took off his clothes and put them in the system backpack, revealing his upper body as if it were a perfect muscle carved by a craftsman, with no signs of corrosion on his body.

John removed his jacket and shirt because they were his only set of pure black clothes suitable for stealth, and with the university currently in lockdown, getting another set would be troublesome. "So, you, the alchemist, have quite high toxin resistance?" The Voodoo Goblin Shaman realized and analyzed, "No wonder you're not harmed by your own potions; it makes sense now…"

"But…" The Voodoo Goblin Shaman revealed a sinister smile, "Even high resistance has its limits. Let's see how far your limit goes!"

The Voodoo Goblin Shaman waved its staff, and with a forceful tap on the ground, a circle of green ripples spread from the staff's tail, instantly expanding throughout the entire cave.

[Voodoo Minions]

Suddenly, the entire cave filled with the rustling sounds.

From the densely packed crevices of the cave, swarms of poisonous bugs emerged, converging from all directions towards the platform, along with a four-meter-long red venomous snake that quickly made its way to the Voodoo Goblin Shaman's side.

John's brow furrowed at this sight, a scene that could induce trypophobia in anyone.

Without sparing any expense, he directly took out two potions, one mixed with snake venom and the other with acetylcholine.

John uncorked the bottles and activated the [Potion Vaporization] skill, turning the liquid from the glass bottles into a thick mist that completely enveloped him.

The converging poisonous bugs, upon contact with the toxic mist, instantly lost their ability to move, their bodies quickly piling up like a mountain.

The Voodoo Goblin Shaman panicked.

It hadn't expected its poisonous bugs to be so effortlessly defeated by the alchemist!

John instantly dashed forward. The Voodoo Goblin Shaman, brandishing its staff, had the red venomous snake by its side lunging forward, biting onto John's arm and beginning to inject its venom.

"You're finished, this is the Lava Viper!" the Voodoo Goblin Shaman laughed loudly. The venom of the Lava Viper was not only highly toxic but also possessed a strong [Toxin Penetration] ability, reducing toxin resistance by 25% once the venom entered the bloodstream.

[Collected Lava Viper Venom]

As a poison alchemist, John's body already contained a large amount of venom, and coupled with his [S-grade Toxin Resistance] talent, he was completely unaffected by any poisonous substances.

Unexpectedly, the Lava Viper suddenly let go, began to writhe in pain on the ground, and then curled up and died.

[Killed the Lava Viper, gained 200 experience points.]

[Current experience: 570/800 points.]

John, looking at the scene before him, smiled satisfactorily. His blood had already mixed with multiple toxins, making it extremely poisonous.

The Voodoo Goblin Shaman stared blankly, looking at the Lava Viper's corpse for a long time before raising its head to the approaching John, "Your... your blood poisoned the Lava Viper to death?"

"Why all the chatter?" John raised his hand and delivered a strike with his katana, tilting the Voodoo Goblin Shaman's head as the sword embedded into its neck.

Due to the katana being corroded by the Voodoo Missile, it had a notch, causing John to not sever its head in one strike.

But the Voodoo Goblin Shaman would soon regret it... Being killed by John in one strike would have been a mercy.

The Voodoo Goblin Shaman wailed, turning to flee, but John caught its ear, kicked away its staff, and the Voodoo Goblin Shaman howled in terror, "Don't kill me, please, I beg you, I know I was wrong."

John withdrew his katana, finding it nearly unusable, reluctantly storing it back in his system backpack, then took out a potion mixed with Giant Jaw Spider stinging hairs.

The Voodoo Goblin Shaman's pupils shuddered, and it began to tremble uncontrollably:

"No, please, don't do this.Ouch..."
