Chapter 22 - Awakening (2)

Crack!

Crunch!

The sounds coming off the mummy made the already eerie situation all the more grim, upping the creep factor by a huge margin.

However, after a few minutes of this, the mummy stretched out and got off the sarcophagus, turning its attention to the players. It did not pay any heed to the dead bodies littered on the ground.

"How wonderful, to think that there are even Immortal Adventurers," The thing said as it surveilled the group. The next minute, it started peeling off the wrappers that were woven all around it.

Bor did not even know what to expect, but the moment this started, he just closed his eyes. He'd rather just welcome death. He took some time to open them, as when he did, he realized things were not as he thought.

Bor expected the mummy to be made of rotting flesh, something extremely revolting to look at. He certainly did not expect to see a handsome young face behind the wrappers. He had big brown eyes, short hair and a very confident look.

Turning his attention to the group, he seemed like a monarch who had descended and was inspecting his territory, and his subjects. His air of confidence seemed all to natural, like he had been king for eons.

The next moment, incredible pressure suddenly fell on everyone present. Morendat was an extremely immersive game. It also used advanced tech that had been built off of Polaris, making every encounter extremely realistic.

Standing in front of this being, everyone present felt as though they were being eyed at by some extremely evil demon. They could feel that, at that moment, should the being in front of them choose to, they would be no more. Even Bor was flustered.

Taking a deep breath with great difficulty, Bor decided to inspect the being.

[Mirrein the Dangerous]

1,000,000,000,000, HP.

Bor nearly forgot himself.

Every person seemed to have made the decision, and right then, they were all dumbfounded.

Firstly, you couldn't see any more information other than the name and the five HP Bars on the monster. During his entire time in Morendat, Bor had never seen a monster or NPC with such a high HP value.

Secondly, they could not gleam any more information from inspecting the being. Just the name and HP Bar. That usually meant that the person or being in front of them was extremely high leveled. If the HP bar was anything to go by, then this was certainly not someone they could take on.

Fortunately, the name tag was yellow, which meant that the being was neither friend or foe. What they did next could very well spell doom for their characters, at least for a time. However, no one had the nerve, or even a clue, on how to proceed.

"How wonderful. This continent has finally given birth to Immortal Adventurers. Looks like the prophecy will be fulfilled soon." Mirrein mumbled to himself before turning to face the players. "You, bearer of the prophecy, come forth."

Ayram, who had been addressed by Mirrein, stepped forward hesitantly. Bor was shocked to see Mirrein smile encouragingly at Ayram. They started conversing, but since Ayram was the main quest bearer, and she had completed other tasks on this quest, Bor and party could not hear a word.

Like a King, Mirrein turned and faced the other players, saying:

"Immortal adventurers, thank you for bringing me back. I still have several things to do, and your power is terribly lacking. Come find me in my residence, if its still there, after your power has grown some. In that time, I might have some goodies, and some missions for you." Saying that, the handsome young man who was still clothed in wrappers except for his face, vanished into thin air.

[Success. You have completed the fourth phase of the A-Ranked mission, Descend of the Dwarf Kingdom. Awarding 100,000,000 EXP, 200 Mastery Points, 50 Reputation points.]

[System Notification: Hidden Quest Descent of the Dwarf Kingdom Update: All party members should reach level 200.]

Level Up!

Level Up!

Level Up!

Bor instantly leveled up by 2 more levels. Others had even jumped up several levels.

At the same time, a small mountain of loot fell off the sarcophagus. At a glance, Bor could see high level equipment, as well as other beautiful gains. From the looks of it, these items belonged to Mirrein.

He saw a few scrolls that looked like forging blueprints or alchemy recipe scrolls. Each one of those were so precious that if properly used, a player could live a life of luxury. As a forger, Bor knew this first hand.

It wasn't just Bor, everyone was amazed at how good the drops were. For a moment, they even wondered whether the system had made a mistake. This was an A-ranked quest, they knew there would be good drops, but certainly not this good.

What followed was an intense discussion on how to split the loot. Luckily, Ayram had already made negotiations with everyone present, and so they did not have to fight it out.

Bor was entitled to forging items. Ayram had made other agreements with the rest, so if Bor wanted anything other than the forging items and blueprints, he would have negotiate with the one who received it.

Bor made a lot of concessions with Single Shot Dead to acquire a bow that had dropped, but they both walked away happy. The same happened to everyone else, making it such that by the time they were walking away, they all had smiles on their faces.

They added each other as friends, and promised to meet up with each other when the levels were nearing level 200. Those that were low leveled were bid to push themselves.

After all the loot was divided and the party split, Bor clicked the Log off button. He was dreading what Nagri would say, especially considering he had overstayed beyond the time limit set. That burly man with a rotten mouth would probably snap him in two.
