Looking at Fang Yulong's smug grin, as if victory were already assured, Lin Wei simply ignored his questioning.
"Lin Wei, have you decided?" Fang Yulong repeated, his tone tinged with irritation. Despite his inner turmoil, Fang Yulong refrained from exploding with anger. If possible, he wanted to prolong the conversation until reinforcements arrived.
Although Fang Yulong adeptly concealed his true intentions behind a facade of irritation, Lin Wei saw through his facade. Yet, he remained unfazed, seemingly oblivious to the impending 'threat' Fang Yulong posed.
Observing Lin Wei's carefree demeanor, Fang Yulong felt his anger bubbling dangerously beneath the surface. He yearned to lash out and tear Lin Wei apart, but he restrained himself, maintaining his hideous grin outwardly.
Though his inner turmoil raged, Fang Yulong maintained his outward composure, silently vowing revenge. 'Just you wait, you little brat,' he thought, his laughter echoing silently within his inner thought.
As if sensing Fang Yulong's anger, Lin Wei calmly stated, "I have chosen."
Hearing Lin Wei's answer, Fang Yulong was momentarily at a loss before breaking into a grin. "Oh? Have you decided to become a slave for the rest of your life?" he mocked.
"Slave? Wasn't I already treated like cattle for five years by you and your clan?" Lin Wei retorted. "Although you pretended to show warmth, it was nothing but a facade. Since you treated me like a fool, I choose the first option. I'll be the one to personally end you." With those words, Lin Wei raised his leg and began to slowly advance towards Fang Yulong.
Seeing Lin Wei's determined approach, Fang Yulong instinctively took a step back. He realized that his earlier bluffs, intended to buy time, had failed. Weakened by his injury, his strength now paled in comparison to Lin Wei's 'Martial King' prowess. If Lin Wei chose to strike now, Fang Yulong knew it would be effortless for him to dispatch him.
As the threat of death loomed with each step Lin Wei took, Fang Yulong roared, "Lin Wei, have you lost your mind?" He continued, "Do you truly wish to become an enemy of my clan and face death?"
Growing increasingly anxious, Fang Yulong warned, "If you dare to kill me, the clan's emperors will hunt you down. They will sever your head and display it on the clan's gate, and let the whole city see your decapitated head."
"So?" Lin Wei replied, undeterred, continuing to advance without hesitation.
"Hmph, since you seek death, we will grant your wish," a cold voice suddenly echoed through the air. However, the source of the voice remained elusive, shrouded by the dense energy fog enveloping the summit.
Hearing the mysterious voice, Fang Yulong's excitement erupted into jubilation, as if the voice were an angel coming to his rescue. His previous expression of dread was replaced by a murderous gleam in his eyes.
"Haha, Lin Wei, the emperors have arrived. Do you still dare to kill me?" Fang Yulong taunted Lin Wei, who had halted halfway. "Hmph, I know you're afraid, but it's too late now."
Turning his gaze towards the sky, Fang Yulong knelt on one knee and pleaded, "Ancestors, please eliminate this brat. Though he may appear to be at the Apprentice stage, I suspect he is hiding his true strength and is likely at the Martial King Realm. With his talent, he would become a walking threat to the Clan,"
"Hmph, what a trash!" a different voice interjected, dripping with disdain. "Fang Jainli, can't you see that my nephew is injured and possesses only the strength below that of a Martial King?"
"Hmph, whether he's injured or not, he's still a trash," Fang Jianli retorted, his voice dripping with disdain. "I've said it before: he would make an incompetent leader. But none of you listened," he continued, his tone laced with mockery. "I even suggested that we should have killed Lin Wei five years ago to prevent future troubles, but you all thought it impossible for him to reach a realm higher than Apprentice. And now look where he stands. His realm has increased by four major realms," he concluded, his voice filled with scorn.
Hearing the relentless mockery, Fang Yulong seethed with humiliation and anger, though he dared not show it on his face, fearing punishment. Instead, he felt grateful to the ancestor who defended him.
"Fang Jianli, firstly, just because your daughter is talented doesn't mean she has the intellect to lead the clan," Fang Meilin countered, her voice cutting through the tension. "And secondly, who would have predicted that the lamb would ascend to such heights while suppressed by the Spiritual Devourer Ring?" she added.
"Fang Meilin, are you suggesting that my daughter is unintelligent?" Fang Jianli's tone turned icy, ignoring her second point.
"Hmph, so what if I am?" Fang Meilin's reply dripped with defiance.
"Hmph, you b*tch," Fang Jianli's anger flared, the tension thickening as it seemed a confrontation was imminent.
As for Lin Wei, they ignored him as if he were air. They believed that even if Lin Wei were an emperor, he would not be able to escape. After all, there were seven emperors present. If Lin Wei could still survive such a lineup, then they might as well smash their heads against a block of tofu.
"Stop quarreling, you two. We still have business here," a dignified voice commanded, halting the argument between Fang Jianli and Fang Meilin. Through his authoritative tone, it was clear that he was likely the leader of the group.
"Yes, Ancestor," both voices responded in unison, acknowledging the command.
After halting the quarrel between Fang Jianli and Fang Meilin, a commanding voice followed suit.
"I'll personally deal with this brat," another voice declared, before any action could be taken by the ancestors. But before he could even make a move, Lin Wei's calm voice cut through the tension.
"Now that your show is over, it's my turn," Lin Wei said calmly, his gaze turning upwards to the sky where he saw seven figures hovering ten meters above the peak ground. He merely took a brief peek at them
The group of seven consisted of one elderly man, two middle-aged men, two men in their early twenties, and two beauties. "The elderly man should be their leader, considering that he is the strongest of the seven, at the peak of Martial Emperor," Lin Wei thought with certainty.
Looking at Fang Yulong, who was two and a half meters in front of him, Lin Wei commanded, "Fang Yulong, kneel."
With a grunt, Fang Yulong complied, dropping to all fours. Feeling surprised that Lin Wei still dared to assert authority over him, Fang Yulong struggled to speak, his words slow and trembling. "Lin Wei, you probably still don't understand the predicament you're in, do you?" he said, his voice strained.
While in the air, the emperor who was about to attack froze in disbelief. He couldn't fathom that Lin Wei still dared to target Fang Yulong. After a fraction of a second of shock, he reacted with fury, roaring out loud, "You brat! How dare you attack my people in front of me?" he thundered. "I had initially planned to kill you without leaving a another single scratch, but since you dare to be insolent, I will only be satisfied with leaving you with an incomplete corpse."
Hearing these words, Lin Wei merely glanced at the man.
As Lin Wei's gaze fell upon him, the man felt a shiver run down his spine, as if Lin Wei were mere inches away. Sensing something amiss with Lin Wei, the man wasted no time and hastily retreated. During the brief moment Lin Wei looked at him, he felt the specter of death looming over him. It was as though, with just a thought, Lin Wei could end his life with a single glance.
"Everyone, run!" the man, shouted to his six companions. Hearing the urgency in his voice, the other six sensed that something was amiss, though they were unsure of what exactly. They hesitated for a moment, calling out to Fang Huo, "Hey, Fang Huo, what's wrong?"
"Just run if you want to survive," the person called Fang Huo replied firmly. His words sent shivers down their spines, and in the next moment, they heard Lin Wei speak again.
"Why are you suddenly running? Come back!" Lin Wei's voice echoed, tinged with an eerie calmness. In response, Fang Huo abruptly changed course, flying back to Lin Wei with a speed greater than his escape.
"Why did you try to escape all of a sudden? Didn't you say you would kill me with an incomplete corpse?" Lin Wei asked teasingly, his voice carrying a hint of playfulness and mockery. Fang Huo's desperate voice replied, "Senior, please spare me. In the name of our clan treating you well, please forgive me," his words tinged with desperation.
Fang Huo's plea grew more desperate as he continued, "Senior, I would even become your slave, your errand boy, if it meant sparing my life." The dignity he had before gone in the face of death.
"But didn't your clan just treated me as cattle?" Lin Wei's voice turned cold, devoid of any trace of playfulness, sending a chill down the spines of those watching. "But, too bad," he continued, his words slicing through the tense atmosphere, "I don't need such a dog." With a flick of his will, Fang Huo exploded as if a bomb had detonated inside him. Yet, to the astonishment of the onlookers, there was no blood or sound of explosion. It was as if the man who exploded was merely an illusion.
