A few days passed, and the items arrived in a black box covered with ribbons. Talk about fancy! I ripped it open and saw two clothes that were separated. Did I order two? Well, anyways, I took one out and looked at it. It looked... "Normal?"
"Ah, the clothes have arrived?" Gesine appeared in front of me.
"That looks nice and fancy! It'll suit you."
"Fancy my ass! I didn't order it like this. I said versatile and flexible, not this rich-looking clothing."
"Awww, don't get mad. Here, try this one out!" She took the other clothing from the box and tossed it to me. This one was stretchy and cool. It looked like something you'd wear when you're swimming. I took off my clothes and tried it on, and it was really comfortable.
It felt breezy and flexible. It was like a really tight but stretchy sweater; my biceps, chest, and other muscular parts can be seen a bit more.
"You look hot— I mean, you look like you're ready to fight. How about you put on the other one?"
"Alright, but I'd prefer if I just use this one and not the fancy one."
I tried them both on, and honestly, I looked a bit better. I felt like I could use the inner part as fighting gear since it's flexible, and the outer part as a suit for occasions.
I should call the inner part of the clothing a sports suit since it's tight, versatile, and breathable, while the other is a noble ass suit since it's for occasions and events.
"Yeah, your taste is still the same, all black, that's boring."
"There are a few white lines on the sleeves, so it's not all black. Besides, black is cool, really cool. Red was my favorite at first, but I saw too many red things, so I changed my favorite color."
"Saw too many red things? What did you see?"
"Blood, the blood on my hand and sword, a river of blood. Yeah, so much red... Just kidding."
"Uhmm, that was dark. Anyways, it seems like my box arrived as well, so I'll check it out and wear it. I'll be right back."
And there she goes, running to her room. Well, anyways, I checked the box for more and saw another thing. It sort of looked like some cargo pants. It was made of cotton and flexible as well.
I tried it on, and I can freely move around. To test that, I did a few kicks: a roundhouse and an axe kick. It was really smooth.
Then I heard a clapping sound. I turned and saw Gesine wearing a gold and yellow dress. It was an open-chest type, with her long white skirt that reached down to her knees, and her black headband that had a purple gem stood out because of her white hair.
"So... How do I look?" She wasn't directly looking at me; her face was facing the ground. She must be embarrassed.
"You look gorgeous, far more than your usual self."
"Ha?! So you're saying I'm ugly if I don't dress up?" Whoa, chill. She changed her mood immediately when I said those words.
"I didn't say that. I'm just saying that you look beautiful when you really dress up more often."
"Oh, I see." Her mad face turned back to her embarrassed face. Bruh, does she have double personalities as well?
"Did you notice? Maybe something looks familiar?" She spun around. Something familiar? Nah, isn't this a new dress we ordered? What can be familiar about this?
"I don't see anything similar, though."
"My god, you're such an idiot to not see it!" What is this woman talking about? If I can't see it, then tell me what it is.
She sighed and said, "Take your clothes off since I'll wash them so that they will be ready for tomorrow. We can't miss the emperor starting off the festival, can we?"
"Your right," so I took off my clothes and it's time to go wear my old worn-out clothes again.
"Woah woah woah, take off your pants inside your room and hand them to me, not strip in front of me!" She was covering her eyes with her hands, but I could see that she was peeking at me.
"Alright, I'll give them to you later." I went back to my room and stayed there for an entire day. You might wonder what I do. Well, I read novels, exercise, and... Train.
Eventually, the day flew by, and it was the day of the festival. I was also getting ready. I had my clothes cleaned, I already ate, and now I'm waiting for Gesine to finish taking a bath. This is a struggle for people with roommates, especially with an opposite gender.
"It's been 20 damn minutes, Gesine! When are you going out?" I kept on banging on the bathroom door.
"Wait, I need to rinse my hair first!"
"You've been rinsing your hair for 20 minutes now. When are you coming out? You said you want to see the emperor. Why are you taking so long?"
"Just shut up. Do you want to come in? 'Cause you really are rushing!"
At that moment, my brain only thought of one answer and one answer only, "Don't mind if I do!"
"Just kidding!"
There's nothing we can do... Why are we still here just to suffer? It was silent for a few minutes. It took about 20 minutes more before she came out of the bathroom.
I rushed inside and took a bath. It was simple: wash my body, put soap, and then use water again. That simple. How does that take 1 hour to do?
Well, after a few hours, we eventually left the house and we are on our way to the festival where the emperor will pass by the main street.
"Look the carriages are passing by it must be the emperor", Gesine looked eagerly.
"Princess!"
"Cheers to our holy princess!"
"The saintess of our land, blessed are you!"
These were the shouts of the people that were looking as well. They were really noisy, but that word "saintess"... It gives me the shivers. I don't have to worry about anything because of my disguise.
"Eh? Princess, where's the emperor?"
"The Emperor has already passed by, and now it's the princess's turn, and it's all your fault!"
"Well, uhm, hahaha?" Don't laugh this off.
The carriage of the princess went slower than its usual pace, especially when it was near us. "Look, Cassius, the princess is waving at me!"
I looked at the carriage and indeed saw the princess waving at Gesine with a smiling face, but... I knew too much; that face isn't her happy face.
Then her eyes shifted towards me, and I quickly covered my face as well. But why? I am wearing a disguise, so how is that possible? Could she have known? This is one of the top-tier disguise magics, so I don't doubt that it wouldn't work.
"Should we head back when it's nighttime? The night at the festival is much better, and remember the fireworks promise that you made."
"I know, let's wait until it's night time since it's kinda hot here." We headed back to the house, and honestly, that wasn't worth it. That's the only event for the daytime, and nothing else. Everything happens at night, so I guess we will be waiting for a while.
