I was siting in the business class section, finishing the 42th and last chapter in my book, The Rat King. The lady next to me, I think her name was Ana had stood up to go to the bathroom.A kid behind me, he must have been very bored, asked:

"What are you doing"

"Writing"I replied

"What are you writing?"

"A book"

The kid had bright blue eyes that seemed, How can I say this? Divine, black hair that was a mess and was as half as short as me.

As I was going to Los Angeles to see my agent I had to finish this book before we got there. Thankfully I had already written a lot and was almost finished.

"Can I read it?" asked the kid

I was surprised as, normally kids these days play video games and watch online content.

"What's your name kiddo" I asked

"Patrick"

"Alright Patrick, Dont break it" I said as I handed him my computer.

The kid spent a while reading the first 30 chapters, by the time he was done Ana had come back.

"Hey Patrick, can you hand it back for a sec, I just have half a chapter left and I need to finish it before we land."

"Sure!" He handed it

"I really liked the way you wrote about Samuel like that"

"Thanks"I said

I went right back to writing

I just finished the part where the antagonist died and writing about the happily ever after part.

Right as I wrote the last word, I felt a little thud 

"What was that?" I asked

"Oh probably some turbulence" said Ana

Right after that sound my ears started to burn intensely.

I looked to my right

All I could see through the broken window was a engine on fire and the ground.

My stomach started doing backflips inside of me as the plane spiraled out of control

The pilot at the intercom started saying to keep calm, buckle your seatbelts and brace yourself.

"How can I keep calm in a situation like this" I thought

Then I heard a thud behind me followed by a sickening crunch. I looked back and I saw Patrick passed out with a nasty cut on his head.

 I turned to the window and saw the ground coming quick. I had a good minute at my disposal. I went back to my computer and sent a save to my editor and agent. I don't know how they could but I told them to publish it now.

I saw through the broken windowI had 10 seconds left at minimum to do it.

I unbuckled my seat belt and jumped out of my seat
