They had passed by several campsites but not a single camper had been aroused by all the noise. Nor had the creature paid any attention to them, keeping its focus on Carl and Luna.
The RV came into sight. Luna jumped off of Carl and opened the door. "Come on!" She whispered, waving her hand frantically.
Carl peered behind him, and when he saw that the creature was nearing them, he dove in, his claws scraping against the floor to avoid sliding into the wall. Luna hopped in behind him and slammed the door shut while locking it with an audible click.
With the door successfully blocking the creature's path, Luna prepared a few spells to use, keeping them on the tip of her tongue. The creature looked at the RV but didn't come any closer, keeping its distance. Luna didn't let down her guard; her eyes were locked onto the creature, and her magic was rippling just beneath the surface, ready to be unleashed.
