Simon shook his head. "I thought about taking him to the old outdoor theater."
A theater? That didn't sound like a bad idea. Movies could be a good way to relax. . .and a way to figure out the likes and dislikes of one's partner. Theaters also weren't all that crowded nowadays, which was a plus for Luna since she wasn't all that fond of crowded places.
Isaac visibly released his breath, his worried expression turning into a happy one. "That sounds much better than a library. You're always in the library during study hall, and with your grades the way they are, I was afraid you'll drag me to some form of a study date." Isaac began to ramble now that one of his questions had been answered and the ball of nerves that he had become was steadily being replaced by nervous excitement mixed with relief.
Isaac. . .really disliked libraries. . .and books in general.
Simon released a small chuckle, his hand grazing over the back of Isaac's, effectively shutting the boy up. "I know not to take you somewhere you wouldn't like. Besides, they're not exactly ideal dating spots."
That. . .that somehow stung just a little. There was absolutely nothing wrong with having a nice quiet date inside a library, surrounded by the smell of old books. And unlike Isaac, Luna loved books, so libraries were like a safe haven for her.
"Hmm. But that makes it exciting." Kwon's voice drifted into the conversation as he plopped himself down beside Luna, scaring her with his sudden appearance.
"Exciting?" Isaac asked with wide, questioning eyes, looking back and forth between Simon and Kwon. "How can a library be exciting?"
Luna tried to hide her curiosity, but she cast a side glance at Kwon, watching as he unwrapped his fork from its plastic sheath.
What exactly did he mean by 'exciting'? There were many exciting things inside a library, the worlds that were created by the books its walls held. She had a feeling that that was not what Kwon was referring to.
Kwon waved his fork around as he talked, catching Luna watching him as he peered at her from out of the corner of his eye. "You know? That rush you get from doing something forbidden in such a quiet, respectable place."
Luna nearly spat out her drink with the implication his words implied. A rush? Why does that sound. . .sexual?! What in the world kind of dates have Kwon been on?! Is that what people normally do for a date?! Was she really that naive and innocent in believing that just a simple movie and dinner constituted as an excellent date?!
Is that why I can't get Adam to look at me? Because I was too innocent?
She mentally shook her head to rid herself of such absurd thoughts. Even though she was too innocent, she wouldn't change that. She would try to attract Adam as she was now, without changing herself. And without trying to give him any more love potions.
Isaac wasn't as lucky as Luna when he heard Kwon's words. The milk the school provided with each lunch squirted out of his nose, spraying all over himself and his side of the table. Simon handed Isaac a napkin while Luna and Kwon both snickered at his predicament.
Luna glanced over at Kwon. His brown eyes caught her own and his smirking lips grew into a wide grin. It was strange, and extremely odd, but at that moment, Luna felt a small sense of kinship with Kwon. However, it was one that didn't last long.
"Quit being misleading with your words," Simon scolded Kwon after Isaac had finished cleaning himself up. "You make it sound like something sexual when you're referring to making out."
"Oh," Luna and Isaac hummed at the same time.
Kwon's eyebrows furrowed as he scowled at Simon. The amusement that had been on his face previously had completely disappeared. "You didn't have to call me out so quickly."
It was Simon's turn to scowl. "It's not calling you out when everyone knows you've never been in any sort of relationship."
"What?!" Isaac screeched, turning round eyes onto Kwon.
Luna swiveled around in her seat until she fully faced Kwon. She was just as shocked as Isaac was. Simon's words were something that Luna almost couldn't believe since just like Adam, Kwon was always surrounded by girls.
Or at least that's what Isaac always told her since she never really paid Kwon much attention.
"I feel betrayed," Kwon muttered, affirming Simon's words as truth.
Luna turned back around in her seat and absentmindedly picked up what was left of her sandwich. She felt like this was something that she should erase from her mind since this was something that she would have never known about if it weren't for that darn love potion. It felt like she was invading in on Kwon's private life against his will. . .though it was technically Simon who had spilled those beans instead of a drugged Kwon.
"I had no clue the two of you were this close," Isaac muttered. "I've seen you two talking before but never like this."
"Hmm," Simon hummed thoughtfully. "We are and we aren't. Mark is closer to Carl than to me. And with me being Carl's cousin-" Simon's voice trailed off and he gave a casual shrug of his shoulders.
The rest of the lunch period passed by with idle chatter and no more secrets being spilled. Luna picked up her trash and tossed it.
"I'll see you later," Simon told them before bolting off the opposite way. He was the only one that had class in the east side of the school after lunch.
"Mark!" Adam and Carl jogged over to where the three of them were standing.
"Yo, Moon Girl! We're borrowing your boyfriend!" Adam shouted cheerfully to her before hauling Kwon away.
Boyfriend?!
"Close your mouth," Isaac said while gently closing her mouth. "Ignore the idiot. He'll figure it out sooner or later."
"Boyfriend?" She repeated the question out loud, still trying to comprehend the meaning her brain was refusing to process. Why did Adam always assume that there was something between her and Kwon?!
"-probably later," Isaac mumbled.
Luna shook her head to rid herself of troublesome thoughts. Her eyes automatically searched out the peak that kept entering her thoughts and the male god who kept putting those troublesome thoughts in her head.
