Janet's POV
Yeah…I am naturally weak, insecure, and felt inferior to anyone who were higher than me…
[Flashback to her previous life…]
[5 years before my death, in Seoul, South Korea…]
"Study hard if you want to be in that university!" one of my classmates in high school taunted me.
I looked at her with notebooks around my desk. "O-Okay."
The girl let out a taunting laugh before leaving.
I know that she will succeed in getting into Korean University.
Feeling insecure and inferior, made me more determined to study hard.
So, I studied hard, day and night, to beat the Suneung exam and get into one of the 3 prestigious universities in South Korea. And then, I did so, and by next year, I am in Yonsei University, studying to be teacher. My family was proud of me, a lot, making me the pride of my family. Well…being inferior to anyone might motivate me to succeed in life, but at the same time, it's not good fully.
[Flashback ended…]
I was arranging some papers in my office in the teachers' department when Brygida came and asked me if I was interested in seeing something that she made. She asked with an innocent look on her face. Upon hearing that, I looked up at her. "Sure, give me a second."
I then finished arranging my papers and stood up before going with her, leaving the department room.
But then, she led me to an empty classroom, and once I entered it, the door was slammed, and she pushed me onto the floor with a mocking chuckle. As I regained consciousness, I was shocked when I looked at the floor: a circle with a star pattern in the center. It was drawn with red chalk marks, and around me laid several candles. Is this…a demonic ritual?
Third person POV
"W-What is this?" Janet looked at Brygida with a scared look on her face.
"Sorry, I had tricked you to be my sacrifice…" Brygida mockingly replied back, before reading her spell book for demonic magic.
"Sacrifice for who?"
With an evil, villainous grin on her face, Brygida replied, "For my demon king."
She then summoned magic to do this forbidden ritual and did a chant, causing the summoning area to glow.
Janet was made a sacrifice for the demon king Malarka.
Janet was terrified, but when she remembered her feelings of inferiority and weakness back in her previous life, she eventually learned to fight back when necessary.
So, as Brygida was about to use her ritual dagger to sacrifice Janet, Janet used her lightning magic to destroy the circle of sacrifice, causing an explosion in the room. Brygida was taken aback by the flash of light and took cover. As Brygida opened her eyes and lowered her guard down, Janet stood with anger and an ice-cold look on her face. "You dare to sacrifice me to a demon lord?" she asked her while approaching her and summoning lightning magic on her right hand.
That explosion can be heard from outside of the classroom, and luckily, someone heard it and opened the door to take a peek. That person, who turned out to be Sylas, was shocked to see the demonic setup on the floor and immediately left the scene and rushed to get help. At the same time, Russell, Azalea, and John, alongside some of Janet's students, are already rushing to the scene when Sylas crosses paths with them and tells them what he has seen in that room.
"What? Demonic ritual?" Ian said to her in shock.
Russell and the others were shocked, too.
Sylas then replied, "Yes, and it seemed that Brygida-san was sacrificing someone!"
"Oh, no, this is bad…" Russell was freaking out and couldn't think straight, "…let's save that person!"
And so, all of them rushed to that room in an attempt to save Janet. At the same time, Samuel snuck into Brygida's office and found her diary. "Gotcha," he said to it, before grabbing it and leaving the room, intending to show it to the headmaster.
