Azalea's POV
"Woah…what is he doing?" my mind asked.
And then, the woman got angry at Russell for slapping her and grabbed him by his necktie. "What did you do to me?" Russell seemed to be unfazed by it. "What you did to my friend Janet is not nice. That's rude."
Janet, whom I knew from Russell, was scared that Russell might get scorned or humiliated for this.
The woman glared at him for a bit, before letting him go and threatening him with a future retribution against him.
"Whatever," replied Russell, "then you stop harassing Janet-san."
Because of this, the woman was irritated and stormed off.
After that, Janet asked him if he was okay. "Yes, I am okay," replied Russell back, "is she harassing you or something?"
"Well, yes, almost every day in the weekdays," Janet responded back.
Russell, John, and I were shocked to hear that.
"What?"
"She did?"
"Who is she?"
"That's Brygida Benedykta," replied Janet back. "She is a senior professor of this academy and a teacher of Advanced Magics."
"Ah, I see," Russell responded back. "Have you ever reported her wrongdoings to the headmaster or something?"
Janet shook her head. "No."
"Why not?" John asked.
"Because she is higher than me, and she is trusted by the headmaster and most of the high-ranking faculty staff here. So, if I reported her, they'll scorn me for it."
"Are you…serious?!" Russell gets angry by this.
Janet felt bad and was afraid of a future retribution against him or her, or both.
But Russell's seriousness and being unfazed by bad people had stunned me.
Third person POV
A bit later, all of them went to Janet's house on Russell's bus. There Janet gave them some lemon tea to warm up. Janet expressed her desire to stop Brygida from belittling her more and asked them for help. "Sure, we'll do it," Russell responded with positive determination.
"You can count on us, too," added Azalea.
"Thanks, be careful about her, though…" Janet replied back with a reminder, "…she is very skillful in magic, especially advanced magics."
"Got that!" Russell responded back very quickly.
Russell and his party then decided to go home to their home in Fort Right, and Russell promised to come back in the morning of the next day.
The next day, Russell did so, coming back to Garion City at 6 a.m. He ate a full breakfast at Janet's house and escorted her to her school workplace after that. At school, Brygida was about to greet Janet with belittlement when she saw Russell with her. Russell was looking at her sternly, causing Brygida to abort her harassment of Janet and storm off, angry at him for yesterday. A bit later, after saying goodbye to Janet while Janet went to her first class of the day, Russell was about to leave the place when suddenly, Daniel came to him and asked, "Hey, are the well-known Bus Driver Hero?"
Russell heard that and turned around. "Yes, I am. Why?"
"Man, I had been hearing things about you, sir," replied Daniel back with some enthusiasm. "You're brave, cool, and full of valor."
Russell was flustered by it. "Yeah, thanks a lot."
And then, Daniel asked him for a duel. Russell was taken aback by it. "What? A duel?" Daniel nodded positively. "Yes, because I had been wishing to battle you, you know, for fun." Eventually, Russell agreed and granted his wish and request.
And so, both of them had a duel in the schoolyard. Daniel showed off his ability, Fire Crystals, an A-ranked ability. Russell was stunned by it. "What the…? What is that?"
"This is called Fire Crystals," replied Daniel back. "It is a fire magic ability that fuses with crystals. My name is Daniel Tűzkristály, of the well-known Tűzkristály clan. We are users of Fire Crystals for generations."
Russell got that and held his windshield wiper and ran lightning in it using his lightning magic.
Daniel was stunned at his unconventional weapon. "What is that?"
"This is called a windshield wiper," Russell replied back positively with confidence. "This was used in my bus to wipe dirt and water off the windshield in the front."
"Oh…"
And then, their duel began. Daniel summoned crystals of fire and fired them at Russell. Russell then swung his windshield wiper weapon to deflect them in speed. This produced clanging noises, and the fire crystals were deflected out of the way, much to Daniel's shock. So, Daniel wielded his pair of fire crystal daggers and lunged at Russell. Russell then blocked his attack with his unconventional weapon, before running electricity through it and towards the metal blades of Daniel's weapons. Daniel got electrocuted for a few seconds before pulling back. The nobleboy then became positive in enjoying the duel. "You're strong and tough, aren't ya?"
"Yeah, I had been training for some time now," replied Russell while feeling the same thing about this.
Both of them continued their duel before class time starts.
