Chapter 142 - Chapter 142 - Jaria fell for Russell now?

Jaria's POV

The Southern Plains pardoned me through Prince Nicholas and Mr. Russell May. I felt so light as if my guilt had been lifted from my shoulders. Now, all I can do is do whatever they tell me to do in order to live a new, fulfilled life.

Third person POV

And so, 3 days after she was pardoned in the barracks, Jaria was now on her first mission as a royal spy and assassin for the Southern Plains. Her mission was to eliminate a band of bandits and thieves in the forest outskirts of Ionawood City. So, in the middle of the night, Jaria snuck into the enemy's camp and, while the band was eating, drinking, laughing, chatting, and counting money and stolen possessions, she wielded her weapons and activated her lancanthrope ability, Vampire Speed. The band of thugs heard her and looked at her, only to smirk at her puny looks.

"What are you doing here, little missy?"

"Do you want to get beaten by us?"

Infusing her Lancanthrope mana into her dual daggers, Jaria looked at them coldly and said, "I was sent to punish all of you for your crimes."

She, with her Vampire Speed, sped and dashed through the camp, slashing her enemies with speed and brutality.

The other bandits were taken aback and became scared to attack back, only to get slashed and stabbed by her.

The screams and attacks can be heard from the trees-hidden camp for yards.

Meanwhile, while loitering by the roadside, Russell and Prince Nicholas heard those noises. Both of them are standing while leaning against the side of Russell's bus. Both were positive that Jaria was doing her mission well and good. After that, Prince Nicholas expressed to the young Renad bus driver how his moral values are making things in the kingdom better. "Yes, thank you, Your Highness Crowned Prince," Russell responded while feeling so flustered by that compliment.

"It seems that your cultural and national background back in your previous life had shaped who you are," Nicholas positively responded back.

"Yes, those things did, and I treasured their teachings and values with all my heart, mind, and soul."

Nicholas then chuckled lightly at his response. "Those things suited you well."

And then, right in time, Jaria came to them covered in blood, much to their sudden surprise. "Mission was now done, Your Highness," she said to Nicholas directly. "Woah, you're covered in blood," Russell said to her, before running to her while pulling out his white and blue, textile-patterned towel to wipe the blood off her.

Then, as Russell did so, Nicholas said to Jaria, "Good job, Jaria. You may rest."

The crowned prince then walked up to her and pulled out a small bag of gold coins, silver coins, and a few jewels, before giving it to her. "Here's your reward."

Accepting it solemnly, Jaria responded, "Thank you."

She then looked at Russell, who was still wiping the blood from her, seeing how cool and kind he was to her. Her mind was now falling for him. "May-san is so cool!" that mind yelled as Jaria remained sober and almost emotionless on the outside.

After that, the three of them boarded Russell's bus and left the scene, going to the city at Nicholas' vacation house to stay for the night. Nicholas promised to send a squad to the massacre scene to recover the dead bodies, and to recover the stolen goods in order to return them to their respective owners tomorrow morning. But slowly, after that time, Jaria fell for Russell slowly and steadily.
