Chapter 76 - Chapter 76 – Go North back to Leafmight

Third person POV

After that, at 8:11 a.m., Russell and his group went to the secluded bus where Russell's bus was parked yesterday. Cassius, meanwhile, went back to the inn's horse stable to pick up his precious horse, which was safe, and had managed to sleep well all night long. All of them will be going north to Leafmight to report the May party's progress and success of their recent quest. Nathan couldn't wait to show the adventurers' guild his recent pictures taken from yesterday. There Russell used the ignition key to open the door, and he and his group hopped in. Nathan sat in the front row on the left, feeling how comfortable the seat was. John, as usual, settled down in his little spot in the front and under the dashboard,

Once his group had settled on the seats, Russell grabbed one of the signs that says "Leafmight" and placed it in the front, with the text facing the outside through the windshield. After that, the youngster bus driver sat in the driver's seat, buckled his seatbelt for safety, and turned on the engine with his ignition key, causing the engine to produce a mechanical noise. Nathan was amazed, before activating his ability to take a selfie with them.

"Say queso!" the young photographer said to them, before readying his index finger to take a picture.

As Cassius arrived at the scene on his horse, Russell and the others looked at him.

Nathan then pressed the button on the hologram screen, taking a picture with a clicking sound.

Then, a paper, glossy photo of his recent take appeared in front of him.

Nathan grabbed it, and Azalea and most of them took a peek of it.

 "Nice one!" Azalea enthusiastically commented.

 "It'll be memorable!" Adrian added.

 "Awesome!" Kelly added as well.

Russell noticed the photo from his driver's seat and was happy about that.

He then looked at Cassius through the open door.

Cassius was waving at him, giving him the green signal that he and the others may go now, and that he will follow them from behind.

Russell got the memo right and shifted his gear to Drive. "Okay, guys, let's go."

The young driver then closed the bus door, stepped on the gas pedal with caution, and turned his steering around to veer the bus to the right and on the street. This prompted Cassius to follow them from behind. Along the way, the group stopped because a group of people, consisted of 3 elves and 2 humans, signaled them to pick them up. That group of 5 wanted to go to Leafmight for various reasons, from reporting to the Emerald Guild for duty as adventurers to buying stuff at its markets. So, Russell opened the door and accepted them in, and the group hopped in, before settling in the back. With that Russell closed the door and continued their way out of Hadrianwood. Shortly after, the group, as well as Cassius, are now out of town and towards north to Leafmight via a paved road.

Along the way, the five passengers were amazed that Russell's strange vehicle was faster compared to a horse wagon or horse carriage. Two of them, an elf adventurer and a human that is a healer, are confident that both of them will be arriving in Leafmight in no time. Both are members of the same adventurers' guild as Russell and his party, much to the May party's surprise. So, Azalea and Adrian confidently explained to them about their affiliation and membership with that said guild. Those two guild members were surprised and were interested in their place in the guild. Also, along the way, many people on horses and horse wagons were stunned to see such a strange metal vehicle passing by in speed.

So, the trip from Hadrianwood Town to Leafmight Town lasted 25 minutes at the top speed of 29 kilometers per hour.

Later, at 8:39 a.m. the group arrived at Leafmight, and Russell pulled over and stopped at the same spot not too far from the Emerald Guild. There…

"Alright, we're here," Russell said to them while unbuckling his seatbelt and opening the door.

As the 5 passengers grabbed their belongings and stood up, Russell turned off the engine and pulled his ignition key out, before tucking it into one of his suit pockets.

The 5 passengers then went to the front, happy that all of them had arrived in their destination in just a fraction of the time.

"Thank you, sir," the healer said to him.

"That was really fast, youngster," another, a human that is a farmer.

Russell then smiled at them with positive confidence, before readjusting his bus driver's cap. "You're welcome. I'm happy to help. That'll be 12 copper coins, 7 silver coins, or 5 gold coins for the fare individually, please."

The five passengers were astonished to hear such a low charge for their ride.

So, the five of them get some money from their money bags and gave them to him according to what kind of coin they are willing to use as payment.

"Thank you, have a great day," Russell said to them kindly as he received the money.

With that, the five passengers got off and went for their day's tasks and errands.

After that, Russell counted the money. Three of the passengers paid in copper coins, and the other two paid in silver. The young bus driver and free adventurer knew that charging fares in different kinds of money was better than charging fares in only one kind of money. Nathan looked at him and was happy that his friend of the same race had willingly taken his method. Russell then opened his money box and put the money in it, before closing it and locking it with its key. Russell also gained some points from his recent route, much to his joy.
